Report: NHL, NHLPA to meet TORONTO (Ticker) -- After breaking the silence last week, the NHL and the Players Association apparently are ready to meet again. According to a report on TSN of Canada's Web site, the league and union will hold their second labor meeting in seven days Thursday at an undisclosed location. The sides gathered here Friday for the first time since Feb. 19, three days after commissioner Gary Bettman announced the official cancellation of the 2004-05 season. The 90-minute session reportedly contained nothing more than dialogue as no proposals for a new collective bargaining agreement were exchanged. The league was represented by Bettman, executive vice president Bill Daly, general counsel David Zimmerman and outside counsel Bob Batterman. Executive director Bob Goodenow, senior director Ted Saskin, associate counsel Ian Pulver and outside counsel John McCambridge participated on behalf of the union. Bettman undoubtedly would like to have a deal in place in order to save the entry draft, which is scheduled for June 25-26 in Ottawa and features junior superstar Sidney Crosby, who is expected to be selected first overall. Despite the absence of a proposal during Friday's session, both sides apparently have removed their previous offers from the bargaining table. In an effort to save the 2004-05 campaign prior to Bettman's announcement on Feb. 16, the league conceded the linking of players' salaries to league revenues and the union backed off its stance against salary cap. But the sides could not agree on a dollar amount for a cap as the NHL proposed a figure of $42.5 million while the union countered with a $49 million plan. With neither party willing to give in to the other's request, the NHL became the first major North American sports league to have an entire season canceled due to a labor dispute. © 2004 SportsTicker Enterprises, LP

Jennifer Aniston
ANISTON SLAMS MEDIA OVER PITT RECONCILIATION STORIES Actress JENNIFER ANISTON has urged the media to stop reporting that she's considering giving her marriage to BRAD PITT a second chance. The rumours of reconciliation started when the two, who split in January (05), celebrated Aniston's 36th birthday at their Beverly Hills, California mansion on 12 February (05). And Pitt's grandmother BETTY RUSSELL fuelled the rumours by announcing their separation was only temporary. But Aniston has finally spoken out about the persistent speculation in an attempt to stamp out the erroneous reports. Her spokesman STEPHEN HUVANE says, "Nothing has changed with Jen and Brad. They're still separated. "These are made-up stories and Jennifer doesn't feel the need to engage in the toxic practice of correcting non-stop lies. Their original statement announcing their separation still holds true." 15/03/2005 03:13

Brad Pitt
Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston 'will never get back together' Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston will never get back together, relatives have claimed. The Hollywood heartthrob and the former 'Friends' beauty announced their split in January but speculation was rife they were set to rekindle their romance after it was revealed Brad had moved back into their marital home. However, although the couple have remained on good terms since their break-up, members of Jennifer's family say they won't give their marriage another go because they both want different things out of it. One told Britain's Grazia magazine: "She loves being a star and wants to become a movie mogul, someone who makes millions of dollars and shapes what Hollywood will become. "Brad has made no secret of his desire to settle down, even confessing that he's ready to become a father. He thinks they have all the money anyone could ever need and wants to begin enjoying it." Earlier this month, it was claimed Brad and Jennifer were seeing a marriage guidance counsellor in a bid to save their troubled relationship. A source said at the time: "Brad and Jen have been seeing a marriage counsellor. They want to be together, but have issues they need to resolve. The reason they announced their separation was in response to all the gossip over the marriage. But there was no fall-out. Even before their announcement they'd made plans to seek counselling." However, Jennifer's spokesperson has insisted there was no truth in the story and said the couple are still separated. He said: "Nothing has changed with Brad and Jen. They're still separated. These are made-up stories and Jennifer doesn't feel the need to engage in the toxic practice of correcting non-stop lies. Their original statement announcing their separation still holds true."

News & General Discussion
I lost TWO things today. A Marie Claire and an Elle. I was ranting to Ashley about it And that's the ones I was thinking of, so maybe that's what it is. I wasn't going to buy a 20 dollar mag ( if not more. Shipping from italy is evil ) just for one page Oh, what year/month was this cover? I'm sorting through what I have and completely blanked:

First, people who outbid you with three seconds left need to die. Second, what ad did ana do for L'Oréal Elvive Solar? There's an italian magazine or two that I've seen mentioned that have one or two page ads from that.

Your beauty secret
I drink a lot of water because I used to be in sports, so it's just habit now to lug a waterbottle around with me ( though Arizona water in most parts is just disgusting ). I don't go anywhere without chapstick. I'm obsessive about it. And my chocolate lotion.

What would you want your daemon be? In my opinion, Golden Compass is better than Harry Potter. I see more strength and bravery in Lyra than in Harry. Like all great books, it's being made into movies. The Golden Compass movie will however start being made by 2007. <_< A raven I think. Or perhaps a large spider. I heard they were taking the church out of it and making it just some random "bad guy". Wusses. And I'm halfway through The Amber Spyglass now.

NHL
I had that thought, but then I think of just normal people who act like four year olds so It doesn't really surprise me much. I'm to the point that I'm just waiting for the WHL to start up so the players I follow actually have jobs. Some of them can sit through a lock out, maybe two, but if they haven't invested well, or they don't make a lot ( rookies for example ) they're screwed. I don't even want to think about Canada's economy after this.
