I agree that she was stunningly beautiful and doesn't look anywhere near as good now, but I don't think it's got anything to do with botox. If she were using botox then she wouldn't have so many lines around the sides of her eyes, which are very ageing in some of those pics. Firstly, her hair is too light and isn't flattering. She recently played a cancer victim, lost a lot of weight and had her hair very short. She's probably wearing a wig or has extensions in these photos. Secondly, I doubt many women in their mid 40's would look any better with such close up (ultra zoomed) camera shots. If you look at the more distant shots above, she looks younger. I think the third reason for her strange look is that while she continues to have her lips plumped with whatever (collagen!?) she has put in them, in an effort to stay young, she IS NOT having any other sort of treatment (i.e botox) on the rest of her face. Although she has had work on her lips for about 15 years now, despite having a lovely mouth before, in the last 4 years she seems to be having more and more put into her top lip. Back in 2003, when she made Nathalie, she looked stunning and much younger than her then 38 years. Now, her lips look scarred, lop-sided and quite distorted. Since losing weight for her "cancer" role, her mouth looks even wider (like "The Joker") and I think she might have had fillers around her mouth to push it forward further. At the same time she seems to have neglected to have botox around her eyes and her skin on her cheeks and from her nose upwards, looks tired and gaunt. She needs to stop having any more stuff in her lips and let them go back to more "normal" levels, if that's possible, put on a bit of weight and have botox on her eyes and some filler in her cheeks. Also remember she has been a heavy smoker since her teens and grew up in St Tropez. The ageing effects of smoking and the Sun catches up with everyone in the end, if they've abused it! That is so true! I don't know why so many models and actresses continue to smoke and tan when everyone knows how bad it is for the skin.

Dear friends,we face with the mysteries of human nature, difficult thing to do Bipolar disorder, for example, cited by Kelly, was the problem that has destroyed the jazz great Jaco Pastorius, that every lovers of jazz music knows. I want to stress that certain things are not happening only in the fashion world. That is so true! So many creative people though out history have suffered from this disease. But, thankfully now we have medication and therapy to deal with this. It is just a matter of the person being diagnosed early enough to be treated. I also think that Karen could make a comeback as a singer because her voice is very good. If she is getting the proper treatment, it is possible. The question is, would she want to?

I agree that it must be so difficult for a very famous model to go from the height of success and fame, back to relative obscurity. Paulina has talked about how difficult it has been for her to age and lose the attention she once had. But Karen's problems have been so extreme. That is why it leads me to believe there must have been some abuse in her past. Or perhaps, she is bipolar or has some other chemical imbalance that was not diagnosed. She seems to be more fragile than other models have been. Hopefully, she is getting the proper help she has needed and can find some peace of mind.
