Sharapova Attends "Wimbledon" World Premiere
BEVERLY HILLS, CA - Reigning Wimbledon champion Maria Sharapova brushed shoulders with her on-screen counterpart in Beverly Hills Monday night, attending the world premiere of the Hollywood movie "Wimbledon".
Sharapova, who became the third-youngest Wimbledon champion in history in July, met Kirsten Dunst (pictured), the star of the new Universal Feature film, a romantic comedy taking place during the most famous of tennis tournaments.
Also in attendance at the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences was Chris Evert, champion at the All England Club in 1974, 1976 and 1981.
"Wimbledon" also stars Paul Bettany, who plays a British tennis player that meets the American Tour star, played by Dunst.
WTA Tour players were given a special preview screening of "Wimbledon" in New York on the eve of the US Open.
