Here’s what the 42-year-old actress had to share: On The Bourne Legacy: “[Jason Bourne is] in the periphery of the story, but it’s about a new military program and I am thrown together with Jeremy Renner‘s character by circumstance, because, well, we need each other.” On approaching new roles: “I want to always feel like it’s a stretch and that I’m not quite sure I can pull it off. And I think that is truly the right reaction … I used to get really affected by my work, but when you have a kid, you have to come home and be there mentally. When the director says ‘cut,’ it’s all make-believe, and strangely enough, that took me a little bit of time to work out.” On living in NYC: “Everyone moans about the city changing and becoming gentrified, but I think the East Village still has a little edge and also has a community.”

Rachel recently chatted with Deadline about how her life has changed after winning an Oscar for her work in The Constant Gardner. “Immediately afterward, I was offered jobs by interesting directors, including Alejandro Amenábar. Peter Jackson offered me a role. I didn’t have to meet people. They just offered me jobs, these big fancy directors. People believe in you more after you’ve won an Oscar, but it’s up to you what choices you make and how that goes,” Rachel shared.
