It is not a bother, acfr1968. I had to chuckle at your wording choice ("no wonder she excavated that story..") and remembered that this was exactly how I thought when the relevant interview was printed, that she dug out those old pains. Can you remind us which interview for Liberation (2009) you are referring to? I must say that looking at the oldest and latest photos of Natalia and Justin, the light of mad happiness is not only absent in Natalia's eyes but also in Justin's. He used to smile and looked adoringly at his wife when they were photographed back in the days. At the end it is almost impossible to find a single image with him smiling in Natalia's presence. I guess, the good is that at least we, fans, see a lot of Natalia in print and internet, she does not slow down, and we of course all wish her normal human happiness.

Natalia does not look to me IN LOVE at all either. Her eyes, which are so telling, are mostly sad, not shining. So I do not buy the rumors of her having another truly meaningful relationship. I did not clarify this. Scott's comment merely shocked me but it is vague, I agree. I simply think that when people separate, especially with bitter feelings, they do random things. Even have brief affairs. We cannot know whether Natalia and Justin's separation was bitter or not but something tells me that it could not be entirely amicable. But I do not agree that we would necessarily learn of Natalia or Justin's affairs if they existed from time to time. We have virtually no information of Justin's lifestyle - he is across the ocean and hemisphere, as far as I can tell he loves to party and have a drink and along those lines there are always possibilities for affairs. Natalia, being followed a great deal more, has to be more discrete if she wishes to have a relationship, and so she is. I do not know... to me it rings a faint bell of reality, sadly. Maybe because the two were at the same event where his ex was but sat away from her, kept distance (though, what else would you do about ex?). Maybe because of the Scott's comment that they are together: "We're friends and we were together but I have no idea whether she's planning to get a divorce". I think in the modern language "we are friends and together" means lovers. And Natalia has been stepping out with him quite frequently. Scott was in Moscow with her, right? I think, I saw him in the pictures. But to be honest with you, I do not see any sexual energy between them but they and Natalia personally might hide it very well now! She is no longer that innocent shining with happiness girl, she is an experienced woman. Is this him right in front of the camera?

The end of the article made me think of lonely Natalia. It said that when everyone was gone after the gala has ended, she turned to the one and only closest person - her mom, who tenderly stroke Natalia's tired head while Natalia smoked. Wish she was not alone.

ariti, can you please include your source for Moscow candids? thy are lovely, btw, thanks! I personally don't particularly like Natalia's hair at the NHF gala - I think she should have styled it more, it looks disheveled. The dress and accessories are beautiful but the hair is just 100% natural, not even "fake natural" As much as I do not dig a completely "polished, done" look that most of the celebrities sport, this time Natalia's hair is completely undone

She looks so elegant and I am in love with her dress. Love it when she wears romantic, timeless, elegant pieces over some of her trendy ones (particularly of one brand, that I wont mention here, and that I absolutely dislike on her)

Thank you, acfr1968! I personally love Natalia's vivid mimic. She acknowledges that she is an emotional person and her facial mimic proves it. I think it is a tremendous help to her as an actress, her face can tell so much. Damn the accompanying wrinkles but I know I always have enjoyed talking to animated people rather than wrinkle-free inanimate shells. I love her makeup at the Dior show and her pure facial canvas at Stella.

Though I love Natalia's shot in this editorial, my favorite is Daria Werbowy, followed by Lara Stone - I get a more dynamic feeling from these two images. I wish Natalia was in a less closed-up position. The article SAYS that Natalia "is quick to dismiss" the rumors but nothing that she says/is printed actually dismisses them. From this perspective, not much is changed for and learned by us. I continue to marvel at her mature self-confidence which is also eminent in this interview. Lanick from TFS passed the rumor that Natalia might be pregnant with the 4th child and provided this Ukranian-TV gossip footage: I must say, when face with this picture from Valentino's show I thought I saw a small bump but then she also ran a 1/2 marathon, and I thought she would not do it if she was pregnant. But Natalia loves to push boundaries so who knows?.. She might have just had a mighty meal and that's all to it

The 3 videos that Ariti posted (Hogan party) is such a vivid evidence for me of Natalia's growth as a person. I remember her very early interviews where she'd act as your typical model - silly, immature, not very thoughtful, distracted by the scene around her, etc. I do not mean it in a critical way, she was of that age and the situations/interviewers themselves predetermined such responses to some extent. What's interesting to me is how the same situations (parties and such) evoke in her now much more thoughtfulness, consideration, and a strong sense of her own opinion. It is wonderful to see.

yes, I know Amazon seems to be the only way. I just prefer libraries, don't want them to go out of business. Even the Yale University library (the school I do my PhD in), which had two copies, has both copies checked out till August. Either someone from the French Language department studies Albert Cohen's heritage thoroughly or there are other fans of Natalia here on campus <_<

Well, as you noted it is too soon to make ANY judgments just yet... I do not share your "Look at me" vibe about Natalia. I agree that one can be very nervous about her performance as Arianne. I somehow get a feeling that Natalia has a lot to offer as a budding actress - just because she translates so much into photography and I know that acting is very different, as it is much more dynamic, but quite honestly I am struck by how much she can convey into the static images - this cannot be easy and she is truly gifted. She has created enough of subtle, complex images in her modeling career for me to be very curious and hopeful about her acting. Imo, what we will see is a relatively skillful performance in this film but I think that the demands of this role may only emphasize the need for Natalia to take formal acting lessons, interact with talented actors, "boil in those juices" for a while before she can take on another serious role. I am so nervous for her and wish this film to do well and to be acclaimed so that Natalia can get more opportunities in the future. And hopefully, she'll be better prepared for them! But secretly? I dream that Natalia did superbly as Arianne!..

I still cannot get Albert Cohen's book anywhere to read (I must do it before the movie's release!) - the local library does not have it! (and they stopped doing the inter-library loans ) and Barnes & Noble has trouble ordering. Bizarre. And I am not even in some provincial town...
