This is a perfet example of yellow press at its worst, lacking any sort of intelligent analysis of the situation. I hardly think that expressions like "black stripe" and "decline" in a career could be applicable to Natalia's current professional situation. And why - only because she did a campaign for Oriflame? Sure, we are on the brink of the end of the decade of Natalia's reign - an E N T I R E decade! Sure she doesn't walk much nowdays and her contracts in beauty industry are not as lucrative any more (there is always a quest for a young fresh face there) but to be an ambassador for multiple large-scale sport events, starring in an adaptation of a best-selling European novel, to me hardly speaks a decline. To add, during her reign Natalia was not exactly runway-walking or shooting beauty campaigns and otherwise backing in St. Barths, but also raised 3 children and founded a hugely successful charity. She always said that to be in the fashion industry is not necessarily the limit of her dreams and I think she is living her dreams with what she does and not suffering from any decline in a professional way.

Of course it is hard to say but to me Neva does not look like Natalia's side of the family so I sort of jump to conclusion about her looking like Justin's side As for the blond hair of Neva and non-blond hair of Lady Portman. we know that all of Justin's kids are supremely blond and Natalia was not this bright blond and then with age got darker. Justin is still blond. So again, it is a simple assumption that it is from his side. Viktor to me looks like Natalia's mother, while Neva like Justin's mother. Lukas is more of a mixture of Natalia and Justin (but I definitely see something from Natalia's grandfather in him!). You understand that this could all very well be my fantasies! I am heading away for Christmas with my family and wanted to use this chance to wish you all a wonderful and merry X-mas! You are a grand forum company.

[Pautinka, I saw 2 or 3 pics of Justin's mother too, she must be over 60, difficult for me to see any ressemblance with a very young little girl ! BTW I wonder where the blondness comes from, as on the viscountess weddind pic she looked light brown and not blond at all, and J's father was not blond either. Anyway Neva doesn't look much like Natalia. Maybe she will later ...

Cute. A couple of pictures were of Victor's, though. Neva looks a lot like her father, don't you guys think? I remember seeing pics of Justin's mother. Neva - is her copy. and yes, also looking like Justin (Justin looks a lot like his mom).

Indeed, eos. It is the same editorial. I think the name had to do with "red fox" and the one I use as my avatar unfortunately is not saved on y computer (so many people asked me about it and I was unable to help out, all I have is what you posted).

Ah, thank you for your warm words about my country, acfr1968! but to follow on this somewhat off-side topic, I agree that it is long over-due. I was so tiny when the last Olympics, held in Russia, happened (1980) and it was a great one! I will never forget its ending and that music, it reality was uniting. Worth watching on the youtube at a spare moment.

I am certainly not an expert but I do not think that there was ever any surgery involved. Natalia said so in interviews, but also with so much success at different stages of her career - why would she need to? I recall very well also her referencing weight loss after Lukas' birth and what changes it caused - loss of baby fat. The sleepy hooded eyes modified into more regular shape, the somewhat broad nose and its bridge got thinner. As a side note, my little son is now 18 mons old. And within 2 mons after his birth I was 30 lbs less than before pregnancy without doing anything other than breastfeeding (almost 60 lbs loss if pregnancy weight counted). This is not to stray from the topic but just to demonstrate that bodies are capable of transforming drastically due to natural reasons, that's all. and yes, the hair fall-out and stress, that Natalia mentioned, is all true and she never lied.

Thank you acfr1968. Reading the clippings from the Russian Harper's Bazaar made me teary. I am not a religious person but if they are there, may gods smile upon Natalia for all her work and make her path easier. So many children in Russia benefit from this woman's single life. and I was not trying to sound dramatic. This is just what I feel.

Thanks guys for sharing. Eos, i totally see what you mean about her former qualities related her eyes. I agree with you and fashionmistake that both her lips and eyes changed in shape as she aged. I would say for me the third dramatic change is to her nose, how much smaller it got over the years. And as to her slightly heavy, sleepy eyelids from the past - I think it is an eastern feature and she does have Mordovian roots as she mentioned (ethnicity that reside near Volga-river) But yeah, her face transformed.

Luca is only about 8 years old. what are u talking about? I think he is older than that. I think he was born earlier than 2002.

guys, your little exchange about this book made me want to go buy it immediately. I have not read the book, I confess but I want to. Will have to purchase it and read during the Thanksgiving.

I am not in love with Natalia's look in Abu Dabi (don't know if it is her hair or how large this red gown seems on her, thought it is pretty). But yes, it is such an accomplishment. Her generosity and constant effort simply amazes me.

Thanks maryna for refreshing my memory - I absolutely remember the ed but somehow managed to forget that shot. Glad Natalia gets so much publicity lately - means that she's getting recognized for her charitable activity by a lot of people and that she is much more than a model
