  1. No no no... this is just a nerdy way to do factor trees! 60 = 2 * 2 * 5 *3 since 2 * 2 = 2 ^2 and n^1 = n we can write it like this 60 = 2^2 * 3^1 * 5^1 also... since n^0 = 1 we can throw in more useless numbers to make ourselves look smarter 60 = 2^2 * 3^1 * 5^1 * 7^0 * 11^0 * 13^0
  2. Keep up with me folks! 51 = 3^1 * 17^1 52 = 2^2 * 13^1 53 = PRIME! 54 = 2^1 * 3^3 55 = 5^1 * 11^1 56 = 2^3 * 7^1 57 = 3^1 * 19^1 58 = 2^1 * 29^1 59 = PRIME! 60 = 2^2 * 3^1 * 5^1
  3. 41 = PRIME! 42 = 2^1 * 3^1 * 7^1 43 = PRIME! 44 = 2^2 * 11^1 45 = 3^2 * 5^1 46 = 2^1 * 23^1 47 = PRIME! 48 = 2^4 * 3^1 49 = 7^2 50 = 2^1 * 5^2
  4. You love it!!! 35 = 5^1 * 7^1 36 = 2^2 * 3^2 37 = PRIME! 38 = 2^1 * 9^1 39 = 3^1 * 13*1 40 = 2^3 * 5^1 PS. 32 = 2^5
  5. 10 = 2^1 * 5^1 11 = 11^1 12 = 2^2 * 3^1 13 = 13^1 14 = 2^1 * 7^1 15 = 3^1 * 5^1 16 = 2^4 17 = 17^1 18 = 2^1 * 3^2 19 = 19^1 20 = 2^2 * 5^1 21 = 3^1 * 7^1 22 = 2^1 * 11^1 23 = 23^1 24 = 2^3 * 3^1 25 = 5^2 26 = 2^1 * 13^1 27 = 3^3 28 = 2^2 * 7^1 29 = 29^1 30 = 2^1 * 3^1 * 5^1
  6. This one is tougher... I believe each integer can be represented in a way so that i = p1^e1 * p2^e2* p3^e3... * pn^en where i is the given integer, p is a set of unique prime numbers, and e is the exponent. For example: 1 = 2^0 2 = 2^1 3 = 3^1 4 = 2^2 5 = 5^1 6 = 2^1 * 3^1 7 = 7^1 8 = 2^3 9 = 3 ^ 2 ... 96 = 2^5 * 3^1 ... 160 = 2^5 * 5^1 ... 115200 = 2^9 * 3^2 * 5^2 Ready? Set! Go!
  7. woah... what did that? car? cheepy digimax D53
  8. Ubuntu is awesome... but if you really want to get into linux Fedora core gives you way more control... but only if you know how to use it. ... but Microsoft is only getting stronger. Steve Balmer has learned well from Bill and actually, they really learned together since he was there from basically the beginning. .NET is gaining in popularity and in a lot of places now, it's more popular than Java. Vista, as horrible as it ended up, is still found on %90 new PCs. Even Mac users who use there macs for work run parallels (Windows VM). Anyway, the trend for new computer buyers nowadays is increasingly moving towards laptops which... not very many people can build their own of like with desktops. Laptops for the most part only come with Windows... even though Lenovo and a few others offer Ubuntu. Why? Because the hardware vendors get a cut of the OS sales. With Ubuntu they don't. It's illegal to charge for GNU software. Why would a hardware vendor give up a chance for profit off of windows unless the consumer demands linux? On top of that... meddling with the OS voids software warranties where applicatble. Also... nobody has as many games as windows. Some companies are under contract to develop their games under ceratin environments. ie. Anytime you see an Intel logo or an NVidia logo on a game's introduction movies.. chances are they used only that hardware to develop. and... usually they use windows. It's been like that ever since DirectX has been gaining popularity. It's very very difficult to find a new game that uses OpenGL... even though OpenGL is better. Programming is just easier in DirectX. It cost less money and investing resource in OpenGL hampers the ability to meet production dates doesn't bring in enough market share to bother with. Sorry... GNU needs a LOT of support and organization if it is ever to overtake microsoft. That's even the goal for GNU. GNU develops under the belief that software SHOULD be free and people SHOULD have the right to modify their own software. Nowhere does it say that thos two precursors are manditory or say that their goal is to become #1 or anything of the sort. Linux is gaining popularity because people are getting sick of microsoft's domination of the market... but businesses won't and as long as the latter is good for it, microsoft will thrive.
  9. (0 o) VIOLENCE!!
  10. I am the 3033th winner!
  11. Good luck! ^_^ PS. do you happen to know of any online lectures on computer math... specifically on IEEE 754 notation? 342 = 337 + 5 344 = 337 + 7 346 = 317 + 29 348 = 317 + 31 350 = 331 + 19
  12. Good job ladies! This is exciting news to see that you are being excited by math! 332 = 313 + 19 334 = 317 + 17 336 = 331 + 5 338 = 331 + 7 340 = 337 + 3
  13. My goodness... you need to go to compliment giving school. lol.
  14. What's wrong with your nose?
  15. I think you need a hug.
  16. 292 = 229 + 73 294 = 163 + 131 296 = 139 + 157 298 = 293 + 5 300 = 151 + 149
  17. ^^ 271 / 3 = 91 145 / 5 = 29 133 / 7 = 19 =========== Correction... 276 = 269 + 7 278 = 151 + 127 =========== 280 = 131 + 149 282 = 131 151 284 = 127 + 157 286 = 269 + 17 288 = 269 + 19 290 = 127 + 163
  18. I love this thread! ^_^ 254 = 251 + 3 256 = 151 + 97 258 = 157 + 101 260 = 163 + 97 262 = 257 + 5 264 = 211 + 53 266 = 263 + 3 268 = 131 + 137 270 = 263 + 7
  19. lol.. a non-nerd! 142 = 101 + 41 144 = 97 + 47 146 = 109 + 37 148 = 101 + 47 150 = 89 + 61
