It may be true because she's honest about her heritage and her faith, but whatever, it's brilliant marketing. I'm actually happy to see GQ sold out at my grocery store and hear Lima's name mentioned across cubes at work, offline, LOL. This is really great!!

I'm a girl too and Adriana's the bomb. I was just kind of surprised that the female models on the show didn't list her as their fave...then again, she's competition...but not really because they're not in her class.

Thug Life NYC, Please see my response about Adriana's ethnicity. There's a reason that she can pass for biracial (black and white) at times. Then she looks like a French white woman at other times. I think some struggle to associate Adriana's level of beauty to that which they don't readily identify with beauty, so they try to minimize that which cannot be denied. I'm going to refrain from elaborating, but I'll leave it to you to consider what Adriana said on Fashion TV, where she's from (history of Bahia) and how she looks tanned without her hair straightened.

"AFRICAN, Indian and Swiss" is what she said on Fashion TV. Then she continued, "It's all a mix." Of course the PR sites are gonna spin that and say "Carribbean," and list it LAST. They have issues, but Adriana does not. She's not ashamed of any of her mixtures. That's what makes her awesome.

So I've been asking two of my friends who are in the modeling industry..Adriana lives/lived in the East Village in a high rise, near the NYU dorms- close to me! Think she has another apt Uptown, about 57th street. Gisele my gf has seens lots of times riding her bike by the Hudson, so I'm thinking West Village/ Tribeca. Karolina is the one that definately lives in Tribeca. I have an idea. Tonight, VS Fashion Show is going to re-run after ANTM. Imagine, what if there were a Victoria's Secret reality show with wanna-be VS models and occasional cameos from established VS models...like saaaay, I dunno....ADRIANA LIMA? What do you think?

I was furious about the lack of Lima time too <_< . I wrote a very long rant about it in General Discussion. Re. UPN's re-airing, UPN is simply a Viacom network as is CBS. Thanks. I didn't mean to be so wordy, but I had to get that off of my chest. I agree with you that Adriana's prettier than those two. Moreso, Adriana has earned her stripes above them and should have been featured more in the show and in the holiday ads.

I'm angry and don't know where else to express my dismay. I have a lot to rant about, so bear with me... We all waited for this VS fashion show and yet Adriana was like a blip on the screen. Now, on the VS website, they don't have any Adriana footage. I know that it's not Adriana's Secret (lol), and they have been more than wonderful for her career, but I feel that she deserves so much more pub as a standout model. Catalog covers and window displays are one thing, but VS had the opportunity to give her major N. American TV time, but didn't. The View appearance focussed on the no-name models. Re. her accent, so?? I live in NY where there are many accents. Adriana can speak and comprehend English. Why is America sleeping on her and allowing TIM in Italy to make her a TV star or BMW online? WTF? She should be a household name, not just as Lenny's ex, but as the winner that she is in her own right. I hear some say she's not a top model like Gisele. Well, E! reported that Adriana gets a million web hits a freaking day! Yet Selita the new model got more air time than Adri?????????? I'm losing it. And yes Adriana is successful and makes more than I ever will so I sound silly ranting on her behalf, but I think she deserves more. The days of being the silent model are over. I want to see Tyra and Heidi use their shows to introduce Adriana to people who are unfamiliar with her by having her as a special guest. More Adriana, dammit! Okay, thanks for letting me rant!

That show was off the hook, but there wasn't enough of Adriana IMO. What did you think? I'd love to be her American publicist because she deserves so much more pub here. That new girl Selita (although lovely) got more face time than Adriana...argh!!!

I take mean comments about my favorite celebs with a grain of salt. Adriana is highly successful for a reason. Of all of the VS models, she's up there with the top in the business. WHO CARES about any imperfections that someone may point out? Her man loves her as she is, the major advertisers love her and so do we. Amazing Lady + Absolutely Lovely = Adriana Lima!
