I went through the process as I would with any actor about the character, and I interviewed her about her life. I drew a lot of it from her life. That became a source of inspiration for the piece. It really did. That’s what happens in a silent film. You describe a scene, they are hearing it over a mike, as I do it over a mike, and she’s recalling a moment in her life.
