23 for 32 in the first round. My bracket looks horrible on the right side. Only got just over half right. 13 of my sweet sixteen teams are still intact tho. Six of my big eight teams are left, and all my Final Four teams are still in it.

Do you even remember what the argument is all about? Wooden being the greatest Coach of all time? Can you really tell me that Coach Wooden, who is a good coach, could coach a team in today's league? Probably, but he wouldn't be able to put up the gawdy numbers that Dean Smith, or Coach K have. Coach Wooden was a tall pine in a forest schrubbery, Dean Smith and Coach K, and even Roy Williams are Red Woods in a forest of pines. Wooden doesn't even come close. Cling to the past and pray for your records. Although the consecetive records will probably will never beaten, I can guarantee you that UNC alone will break everything else. Wooden can maybe be called the first great coach, but not the greatest.

10 years from now, when UCLA has lost in the first round AGAIN, all you UCLA fans will be like, oh well, we still got the records. Who cares!? Ten years from now, UNC and Duke will likely have 2 or 3 more championships between them, something even the great Wooden couldn't dream to accomplish today.

Alright, im not going to argue with you anymore about those stupid records. Then again, maybe I will. Everything is parity k. I don't understand how somebody can argue for a team that won all those championships against who? Back then there was no Gonzaga, there was no Villinova, or Vermont. Back then there was no Julius Hodges or Coppenrath's. Parity. Its like my dad said, there are alot of good players out there now. With all that parity, with all those great players, what schools still win year after year, whats schools have proven themselves that they are the TRUE schools of basketball. Right now I can only think of four, Kansas, Kentucky, UNC, and Duke. UCLA? Pfft, a sidenote of history, and old history at that.

Yea. Boy, I just had a good though, Roy Williams leads the Tar Heels to the next 7 National Championships. Man I wish, but if theres any team out there thats gonna do it, its the Tar Heels.

I especially dislike to argue with somebody who knows nothing about the game, and has to cut and paste from a website to back himself up.

This argument is stupid and making me angry, I can't stand it when people talk about UCLA like they were the greatest thing to happen to college basketball. All Coach Wooden did was strive to get the best players every year. With the players he managed to recruit, any team under any coach could put up those kind of numbers, especially those days when parity was nothing.

This argument is mute, I think its testament enough that UNC and Duke continue to earn trips to the NCAA as National Contendors every year, while UCLA has done nothing in the last three decades. The history of UCLA is just that, history.

Cling to the past fool, Wooden was a giant in his time with nobody their to rival him. Everything is timing, and Coach Wooden was just the right coach at the right time. I could dare to imagine him being a succesful coach today. Perhaps the only record there that will not be broken is the 7 in a row.

Don't get me wrong Mr. K, John Wooden is a legend, and well deserved. He was a pioneer, an excellent player and coach, but I always find it funny when people try to talk junk about the ACC and try to compare UCLA to it. It is an insult to try to compare a single team against the most storied and sucessful conferance in college history. UCLA had its moment in history, but unlike UCLA, the ACC, UNC, Duke and the others will never fade away. The ACC is college basketball past, present, and future, and all the records set by UCLA and the lackeys of Wooden will be shattered many times over.

Coach K btw tied Dean smith for the most NCAA tourney wins @ 66. Wooden was in the 50's.

But not taking anything away from Wooden, he was a great coach in his own right. Just nothing compared to Dean Smith and Coack K.

They forget to mention that he had the highest ranking recruitment class ten years straight, with multiple rumors that he bribed players with insentive scholorships.

Yea your right, that was Chris Paul, your talking about the finger player? with one finger? that was sweetness

UCLA was a phenom, you are correct. But what are they now? Wooden wasn't a basketball coach, he was a recruiter. He recruited the best prospects and just gave them a nudge. You UCLA fans cling desperatly to that great era like it means something, when in fact it means didley squat today. UNC and Duke will both eventually pass every record set by UCLA, while UCLA themselves will continue to either not make the tournament at all, or lose in the first round (like this year).

They have perhaps the best point guard in the entire ACC, Chris Paul, hes fun to watch.

Wake Forest, btw, is also in the tourney as a number 2 seed. Their home is in Winston - Salem, NC, but their old town Wake Forest, is just south of where I live. They use to call this are the four corners of college basketball. I have them picked to go the Finals.

We'll let me tell you a little bit about Tobacco Road. It's called that cause this area has the most tobacco farms in the state with the highest export. Three teams with a storied history play in this area, N.C State plays in Raleigh, where I live, Duke plays in Durham whose city limits is only two miles north of where I live, and UNC, who plays in Chapel Hill just about 7 miles west of where I live. My team, the University of North Carolina, is famous for its long story history in college basket, winning three national championships and having the longest active streak of going to the NCAA tournament. The greatest coach of all time, Dean Smith, coached here. Many consider Dean to be the pioneer of modern college basketball. And of course, who can forget, this is the school where the great one himself played, Jordan. More recently Duke has been the team to beat. Although they are consistantly voted as the most hated team in America year after year, they have been contendors to win the National Championship year after year after year thanks mainly to the excellent coaching of "Coach Kyzerescki", don't bother trying to learn how to spell that or pronounce it, just say Coach K. In any case after UNC won their last title in 1993, Duke took control of the ACC, winning nearly all of the regular season and ACC tourney titles in the last 12 years. N.C. State is famous for its miracle tournament championship run in the year I was born, 1983. I'm sure you've heard of the Jimmy V foundation? Jimmy V was the coach that year, and soon after winning that story book title Jimmy V was diagnosed with cancer. After that N.C. State struggled until recently, when Coach Herb Sendeck and outstanding player Julius Hodge restored its pride a little.
