Calm down, man. Not liking someone's accent isn't racism. That's absurd. And I'm sure moiselles meant nothing insulting when she used the word "proper." I mean, I probably don't speak "proper" English either. It's not that big of a deal.

Marisa definitely has a slight accent. For example, she says "for" as "fer" in a surfer-dude kind of way.

^ I remember BZ member tuhreese showed me a pic of the new one she got on her lower back and it's surprisingly cool looking -- it's a griffin, I believe (that, or it's a rooster ), with a huge star within its tail/wings -- it was hard to tell because the pic was LQ. (Y)

Oh, okay, I see your point now. But since this is Marisa's thread, not Gisele's or Adri's, I'll only say that I think status within VS can't have mattered so much because Gisele was always bigger than that as a model while Adri... well, she just never transcended VS, hence she never needed to know English as well, which in turn prevented her star from rising higher.

^ You're not listening! Time doesn't matter so much. In the U.S., Adri's never been more than a face, so she's never had much of a need to speak. Gisele was the whole package; she became so popular that being great at English was more important for her career.

^ I don't think time spent using the language matters so much as commitment to learning it does. I guess Gisele was more committed -- plus, she became a household name, so I think she had more of a need to know English the best she could while Ale and Adri aren't in the same position.
