I was able to get a hold of my cousin and so far they're okay. I also spoke to one of childhood best friends who lost her home in the 2017 fires. As of now she's good, but the fire is creeping towards her home. Apparently a lot of people aren't able to make calls very well because something is happening with the cell towers. The fire is now double the size of San Fransisco (nearly triple at 114 square miles), and there is another wind event happening tonight. People are so scared the fire is going to jump Hwy 101 and head into Santa Rosa (to the area that was burnt in 2017)

Update 18 mins ago: Largest’ evacuation in memory, 180,000 forced to flee: The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office says the evacuation orders for 180,000 people affected by the Kincade Fire is the “largest that any of us at the Sheriff’s Office can remember.” Every year with the fires! Every single one of my family members and friends is currently without power, this has been going on for weeks. Half of them have been evacuated, and the other half are waiting for the order. This is what happens when Liberal Lawmakers don't allow Forestry/Logging because we must save the trees, think of the environment and shit. This is what happens when the State of California who knew PG&E was scuffed yet put zero pressure on them to update their shit, more fucking fires. Last year my cousin lost his home in Paradise. Two years ago I had countless friends and some family who lost everything, and I lost my childhood home, and the year before that one of my best friends sisters lost her home and business. Buffy's apt building went up in flames. What's going to happen this year? @Stormbringer They made a documentary about the fire my cousin was in Update - If this fire pushes south it'll run into Northern Santa Rosa and probably consume the area that Christopher and I first lived in when we started dating I can't get a hold of my old neighbors to find out if they're okay.

About sums it up
My parents were also baby boomers, and i gotta agree, they are the greatest generation ever. My dad born in 1948, mom 1950, I was born in 1976 (giving away my age, but fuck it, you couldn't pay me enough to want to be in my 20's or even early 30's). Though I will contest that GenX have the second best generation. From being a child/preteen in the 80's, and a teen 90-94 during he height of Gunge Music and the Goth scene, I feel I grew up in an extremely balanced time with balanced morals.
It makes sense. My father did not talk politics in the house and I have no idea where he stood on issues (best guess was he was independent). My mother is kinda moderate and sides with either group when it appeases her self interest.
See for me it's totally opposite. I'm also GenX and most of my *liberal* friends who've had kids will attest that their kids are far more conservative than we were and this is despite growing up in the biggest liberal cesspool in the world... The San Fransisco Bay Area. For my friends with kids, most of their teens/20's somethings are so disillusioned with the bullshit snowflake sjw wokeness that they want nothing to do with it. Now here's the funny thing. My more Conservative GenX friends who have kids, those kids seem to be a lot more snowflakey. The kids seem to want to rebel hardcore from the ultra conservative views of the 90's and ta-da...... The Pronoun ppl are born. And in summery My Liberal 90's friends are now Conservative, with more Right leaning kids... My Conservative 90's friends are more Liberal with Far Left Leaning kids... And I don't have kids, because... no. And then there is Christy who broke the mold (one of my best friends growing up). A Double Scoop of Skank. Party Girl, Popular in High School..... went SUPER Evangelical Christian (like doesn't even watch TV unless it's Christian approved), became TeaParty fanatical Uber Rightwing, became a Sunday School teacher, happily married, had 4 kids.... and the kids. Daughter - Giant Snotty Left leaning Bitch who is all Pronoun Alphabet People Antifa Friendly Son - Moderate, with Conservative views, going to Duke. Son - Gay (this is not openly talked about in Christy's household), but Conservative Son - Socialist... like hardcore. And... Me whenever I speak to her =
