Posted March 17, 200718 yr Beverly Johnson (born October 13, 1952 in Buffalo, New York, USA) is a supermodel.Beverly Johnson is the second African-American model to grace the cover of American Vogue. The August 1974 cover was shot by famed photographer Francesco Scavullo. Donyale Luna,an African-American model had previously appeared on the cover of foriegn issues of the magazine. As well as Donyale Luna's appearance Ms. Johnson's appearance on American newsstands was a landmark that helped expand the notion of beauty and it helped dispel the myth that white women would not buy a fashion magazine with a black model on the cover. Was honored by Oprah Winfrey in her Legends Ball special.info from wikipedia.
