Kaka, Sergio Ramos and Gago join the squad

Twenty-one men attend the final session prior to the match against Sevilla; the academy's Juanfran, Pacheco and Morata trained with the first team

Sergio Ramos, Kaka and Gago were the new faces during training this morning. The three players worked out on the pitch with their team-mates, taking a positive step towards recovery. Jose Mourinho also had 18 other men available to him in the session, as well as youth teamers Juanfran, Pacheco and Morata. Dudek, Higuain, Xabi Alonso (suspended for the match due to five bookings) and Canales stayed indoors.

Ball work took centre stage after fitness trainer Rui Faria finished supervising a series of stretching and strengthening exercises. The squad divided into two groups to play a game in which it was only allowed to pass the ball with either hands or head.

Fernando Gago on Liverpool's radar

Real Madrid's Fernando Gago could be ready to leave the Santiago Bernabeu and join Barclays Premier League side Liverpool.

Gago, who joined Real from Boca Juniors in the January transfer window of 2007, made an impression in his debut season, which be built on in the next two campaigns, commanding a regular first team place and winning two La Liga titles.

However, since 2009, the Argentinean defensive midfielder has struggled to establish himself as an automatic starter in Real's lineup, facing stiff competition from the likes of Mahamdou Diarra, Lassana Diarra, Xabi Alonso, and more recently, Sami Khedira.

According to reports in The People, Gago, having only made seven appearances in all competition this season so far, is prepared to leave Madrid in search of first team football.

The reports have also named Liverpool as a likely destination for the Argentine, who at the age of 24, still has considerable youth on his side, and could develop into an important player for any side should he be give the chance to play regularly.

Gago, will however, have to decide if he will be able to force his way into the centre of Liverpool's midfield, an area they are not lacking in players, with the likes of Steven Gerrard, Raul Meireles, Lucas Leiva and the much-maligned Christian Poulsen all vying for a spot.

Gago aware of Aguero influence

Real Madrid midfielder Fernando Gago acknowledges that compatriot Sergio Aguero has to quality to make a difference for any club.

Aguero stunned his club side Atletico Madrid at the end of last season by declaring he wanted to leave the club, believing he had achieved all he could at the Vicente Calderon.

While Atletico initially remained defiant in allowing their prized asset to leave, reports have since suggested they could be tempted by the right price.

What the club hierarchy would not allow however is a move to bitter rivals Real, who have showed interest in Aguero, although club officials have since come out saying they will refrain from making a move on Aguero.

However, Gago believes Aguero has the ability to contribute at Real.

"Aguero is a player who could contribute a lot to any team in my opinion," Gago said, according to AS.

Nonetheless, Gago was quick to assert that the only thing on their minds now was performing well for Argentina at the Copa America.

"It's not the right time to talk about it [a move to Real] though.

"We're focused on the Copa America now."

Gago also defended his recent comments regarding Real's fans being unwilling to accept that Barcelona were a better team to them, and insisted he had been misquoted.

"My words were misinterpreted."

Gago had a season to forget as he struggled to get a game at the Santiago Bernabeu, making only seven appearances in all competition.
