TheDude2k Posted April 25 Share Posted April 25 A few years ago I was 27 years old and my Saturn was returning. My inner monologue was LOUD with existential questions about my future. I kept asking myself: what am I doing with my life and what is my purpose on Earth? I had been modeling for almost a decade. I loved the fashion industry and all the incredible humans I had been fortunate enough to meet through my time as a model. I was incredibly grateful for the adventures modeling had afforded me, but I realized I wanted to contribute to the world in a different way. I was scared- how could I start a new career as I approached thirty? Would I remember how to perform in school, how to write a paper, how to study for an exam? But I decided to take the leap and began my graduate program in clinical psychology. Now, three years later, I have graduated with my Masters of Clinical Psychology and am pursuing a career in psychology. I have been challenged in ways I could never have imagined which had led to immense personal growth. I share my story in hopes of reminding you that you can do hard things! I think we forget to listen to our guts and tune into our intuition. But if we can try to listen- that little voice will guide us down the right path. It may not be easy, but there will be growth. TheDude2k Posted April 27 Share Posted April 27 EARTH DAY ROUNDUP! I know I’m a little late with this post but life has been so wonderfully busy. Recently, I had the honor of co-hosting an Earth Day event with my angel @johannamoonan at her @openclosit. I love collaborating with Jo because we share a passion for sustainable fashion. After working in the fashion industry for over a decade, I discovered a love for fashion. But I also realized that many current practices simply aren’t sustainable. We have to get real about protecting the planet- and an easy way to do that is to pay attention to our clothing purchases. Or better yet, instead of purchasing a new outfit, you can rent a previously owned piece of clothing!! I am still learning about sustainable fashion and I would LOVE to hear from y’all about how you are incorporating sustainable practices into your lives.
