I was wondering if anyone can help and say how I can change the link image into a HQ one.

Open the small image, and replace everything after the ? with scl=1

Actually on this site, it's even easier--delete everything after the jpg. Keep the "scl=1" trick in mind for other sites, though, as the default image isn't always the full-size one.
