Posted January 23, 20196 yr Often and unfairly forgotten, the bass is a fundamental part of any band and it plays one of the most important roles: it defines the harmony while also giving the low end and it also helps setting the rhythmic feel.  So lets post those great bass players that go beyond the basics of what the bass should do. Those who deliver creative lines that have their own life within the song.  I'll start with sir Paul McCartney, and the isolated bass track of the Abbey Road Medley (from 10:00 to 13:08 is George Harrison playing bass)  Â
