Schumacher to play in charity match

Retired champion Michael Schumacher will take part in the traditional charity football match held in the build-up to the Monaco Grand Prix.

Schumacher is the captain of the Nazionale Piloti team of star racing names who compete in the annual charity match in the Monaco Stadium.

Jarno Trulli, Robert Kubica, Vitantonio Liuzzi, Giancarlo Fisichella and Formula 3 drivers Sam Bird and Maro Engel will line up for Schumacher's side against Prince Albert's Star Team for Children, which includes motorbike racers Troy Corser and Max Biaggi, plus ex-Formula 1 drivers Antonio Pizzonia and Riccardo Patrese.

Famed referee Pierluigi Collina will officiate at the match.

After the game, Schumacher is expected to stay on in Monaco to resume his role as a Ferrari advisory during the grand prix weekend.
