Cult Icon Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 http://screenrant.com/the-witcher-live-action-movie-2017-release/ In 2017, fans will be able to enjoy The Witcher on the big screen, as the Sean Daniel Company has partnered with Platige Films to make a feature-length film based around the character. This will actually be the second film adaptation of the character, though it will be the first to come from Hollywood. The film won’t actually be a direct adaptation of the games, though it will still feature Geralt as the main character. Instead, it will be based on the themes of the short stories ‘The Witcher’ and ‘Lesser Evil,’ both of which can be found in the Last Wish story collection. Provided the film proves successful, it can be assumed that future films would also be based primarily on the stories instead of being direct video game adaptations. A television continuation of the film series is also planned, though this likely depends on the success of the first film. The best game ever made gets a movie? :=p Quote
Avika Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 I hope it's finally gets a good adaptation (Polish version really sucked). Quote
Cult Icon Posted December 23, 2015 Author Posted December 23, 2015 how is witcher perceived in poland? To me, it's the fantasy version of batman. Quote
Avika Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 The Witcher is a national treasure here:). It's probably the most succesful Polish book and game. Quote
Cult Icon Posted December 24, 2015 Author Posted December 24, 2015 I never knew. The books have been recently translated in the US and Witcher 3 is sweeping GOTY media titles. The amount of intricate effort & storytelling put into 3 is staggering and unprecedented even with its big budget - it must have been more than just designing a game to the developers. Quote
Cult Icon Posted January 3, 2016 Author Posted January 3, 2016 The director of the upcoming movie also did these trailers for the game. It may provide some clues to his style: Quote
Cult Icon Posted March 18, 2016 Author Posted March 18, 2016 According to IMDB pro, Josh Holloway has been selected to play Geralt. He is from the TV show "Lost". I've never seen it. Ciri: Played by Anna Rust. Legit? Rumors? Any opinions on the actors involved? Also, the Witcher 3 is now the most awarded game of all time (251 out of 491 game awards, 2015). Blood borne, which was amazing, should have been a much closer second IMHO. Quote
