How discovered:
I entered myself into a modelling competition when I was 16 as I was told a lot that I should try modelling.

Favorite things:
Definitely summer, going on holiday and sunbathing! Watching films, listening to music, going shopping, spending time with my family, my boyfriend, my friends and my dog!

Favorite music, band:
My music taste varies so much! It really just depends what mood I’m in. I really like Professor Green. I also really enjoy acoustic music. I like Ed Sheeran and the 1975! I also listen to house music a lot.

Favorite movie, tv show:
There are so many movies I could call my favourite! Mrs Doubtfire has always been one of my favourite films since I was really young! It never gets old! My favourite TV show is Coronation Street… I’ve watched it for years. I remember I sat down to watch it with my dad once when I was really young and then just got addicted to it, hahaha!

Favorite designer, fragrance or beauty product:
My favourite perfume is Alien by Thierry Mugler. I always wear it! My favourite beauty product is my Nivea lip butter, I literally take it everywhere with me. I love Vivienne Westwood and Burberry as I feel they represent British style.

What would you be doing if you weren’t modeling?
I was really interested in Psychology at school so I’d want to look more into that but I’m so happy to now be modelling full time.

What’s something uncool that you love anyway?
Mr Bean is my guilty pleasure. I could watch it over and over again and still end up crying with laughter. I don’t get how some people don’t find him funny.

Favorite modeling experience so far?
Coming to London and spending time here! I’ve never been here before I started modelling and it’s so lovely. Meeting people from all around the world is great as well!

What’s the best thing about your hometown/country?
Definitely the scenery. Scotland is so beautiful

Which brand would you really love to model for?
I would love to shoot for British Vogue, that would be amazing and I would love to walk for Burberry, I feel that’s every British model’s dream though.

Place you would love to visit:
Bora Bora! And New York.

Currently you’re obsessed with/about:
Shoes! Forever and always, if I could buy a new pair every day, I would.

Rachel Flett, 17, from Edinburgh

19 Jan 2015

I ENTERED a competition to become a model in 2013. I didn’t win but I was in the top 10, and Model Team later got back in touch with me and asked me to come on their books.

I’ve wanted to be a model since I was 12.

I used to follow models like Cara Delevingne on Instagram, and copy their poses. Those
kind of girls were my inspiration.

Since I started, I’ve been booked for editorial shots and some catwalk shows. I also shot a look book for a young designer.

I still get bit nervous at shows but I love doing photo shoots. It’s such a great atmosphere on the set and every shoot is different. The people I’ve met have all been really nice.

For me Elite was THE agency to be with.

Model Team made appointments for me with a few big London agencies and I had a few offers of contracts but Elite seemed really excited about me, and they said I could make a career of it. When they said I could do London Fashion Week, that was what made me choose to go with them.

I’ve just left school and all my friends are excited for me. I was good at psychology at school, so I think I’d probably have gone into that if I hadn’t started modelling.

I suppose I can always do that later but for now, I’m putting all my energy into my modelling career.

I’m getting the train down to London next week to start working on my portfolio.

My mum is coming with me but then I’ll be in a flat with a few other models.

Model Team have had inquiries about me from agencies in Milan and Oslo, so hopefully I’ll get to visit both cities soon. One day, I’d love to be in Vogue and walk in a Chanel fashion show.

I’d say to other girls wanting to become models to just be confident and believe in yourself. Don’t compare yourself to everyone else because everyone is different, and even if other girls are experienced now, they were all starting out at one time.
