Megaton Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 neurovibe, can you explain your method for pictures from 500px in diffrent way or something? I can't find where “2048“ is. I've tried to ctrl+F but notthing. Maybe example of picture/link with worse and better resoulution? Or maybe you could share your script? Quote

I can't find where “2048“ is. I've tried to ctrl+F but notthing. Maybe example of picture/link with worse and better resoulution? Or maybe you could share your script? I unfortunately can't share my script (which is actually quite a lot of code, but also because I wanted the file naming schemes to be better, etc). The main reason being it could end up being distributed widely & would soon become worthless because 500px would just tweak their methods & I'd still have to pour in countless hours to redo another. Otherwise, if you do it through your browser, here's how I found it worked best: I'm going to assume you're using Firefox but it's pretty much the same thing no matter the browser, as long as you can access the source code. 1 - Let's pretend the photo you want to get is found on this page : (copy-paste the link, don't click it, I changed the URL to direct to Google, I could go on hours explaining why but we just want to avoid having a referral link in their logs pointing to a page that describes how to get access to higher-res shots of copyrighted material & maybe be the drop in the bucket that makes them change their techniques) 500px.com/photo/179681425/star-by-andrey-maksimov 2 - Once you're on the page, since you probably can't right-click, hit the conextual menu key on your keyboard. If your keyboard doesn't have any (it's usually on the right near the space bar and looks like an arrow pointing a menu on it) or if you wanna go quicker, do Ctrl + Shift + F10 (or sometimes Shift + F10) to make the context menu appear. You can also probably right-click any white zone on the page if you're not comfortable with these. There's probably an equivalent for Mac, and now I'm writing way too much just for a context menu, so next: 3 - Choose "View Page Source" 4 - Once the page opens showing the source html output, Do Ctrl + F to find quicker in the page. 5 - Type 2048 then hit enter 2-3 times (maybe more if 2048 is found within the photo ID itself (which can happen)) until you see "size" at the left, as seen below underlined in blue. 6 - Now select the URL after the double quote until the next double quote, should look like this : https:\/\/drscdn.500px.org\/photo\/179681425\/m%3D2048\/0d5c9025fa8e5bc010f8946b54e81c43 As you can see, you need to remove the "escaped" slashes. You can either remove them manually but if you have loads to save, either write yourself a one-line function or if you're unfamiliar with code, there are some online (just checked) services that can do it for you, here's one: http://www.freeformatter.com/javascript-escape.html#ad-output Copy paste the link there, click "Unescape" then copy the new URL in a new tab and press Enter. The photo should load, drag it into a folder or save using right-click or whatever method. Last thing: If the photographer uploaded a file SMALLER than 2048px, you'll get just that, just in case you're surprised cuz it does happen. 9 hours ago, wndmkr said: Thanks @neurovibefor the adds Thanks to YOU, I'm still not done saving most of what comes from you in this thread, going backwards, now at page 18. Then I'll compare against duplicates of the s**tload of high res' pics I have from her & post them Quote
neurovibe Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Got a nice new set, some of which date from this very morning. Unfortunately there was (as often) no EXIF data containing the shoot timestamps. As I said earlier, I have a LOAD of high res' shots of her, just don't have time this weekend but here's a small nice little set in the meantime Very beautiful portraits (not official shoot name)Photographer: Babak FatholahiDate: Uploaded 2016, so probably all the same shoot posted different dates considering the setting (no EXIF).Resolution: variable, 2048 x 1280, some 720 x 1080 for portrait mode. Source: Untouched and grabbed from 500px source files.Naming scheme: The long string of numbers is the photo ID on 500px Quote
