Posted June 26, 201212 yr We are all used to the count the number of Vogue covers that have defined model but I (and hope so do you ) always was curious about Vogue muses – Vogue US, Vogue UK, Vogue Paris and Vogue Italia favorite models. Finally I have the answer for this question and now we'll know the winners. Maybe some day I (or someone else) will do complete research from 1890’s, but for the time being I've chosen the period of 90’s to the present - my favourite time I counted only first five places for each Vogue edition, and, of course, I will post them from the 5th place to the winner. So, let's get started…
June 26, 201212 yr Author Vogue US On the fifth place with 8 covers - Kate Moss On the fourth place with 9 covers - Karen Mulder On the third place with 10 covers - Linda Evangelista On the second place with 11 covers we have two girls - Cindy Crawford and Gisele Bundchen And first place with 15 covers goes to the German and American beautys - Claudia Schiffer and Amber Valletta
June 26, 201212 yr Author Vogue UK On the fifth place with 11 covers - Amber Valletta On the fourth place with 13 covers - Gisele Bundchen On the third place with 14 covers - Linda Evangelista On the second place with 15 covers - Christy Turlington And, beyond any doubt, first place with 32 covers goes to Kate Moss
June 26, 201212 yr Author Vogue Paris On the fifth place with 5 covers - Natalia Vodianova On the fourth place with 6 covers - Daria Werbowy and Gisele Bundchen On the third place with 7 covers also two girls - Lara Stone and Natasha Poly On the second place with 11 covers - Carolyn Murphy First place with 15 covers goes to Kate Moss
June 26, 201212 yr Author Vogue Italia On the fifth place with 6 covers are three models – Christy Turlingon, Elise Crombez and Naomi Campbell On the fourth place with 7 covers - Missy Rayder On the third place with 9 covers - Amber Valletta and Kristen McMenamy On the second place with 12 covers - Karen Elson And first place with 19 covers goes to Linda Evangelista
June 26, 201212 yr Author I didn't count UK Vogue December 2006 and US Vogue January 1993 covers to any of models, cause these aren't really covers, these are collages, at least, that's what I think...
June 26, 201212 yr Interesting lists. They are more realistic than the usual "I'm gonna promote my favorite model via this thread" lists that spring up every now and then. I'm not so sure about the tallies though. For example, Kristen had a VI cover in 1997.
June 26, 201212 yr Author spiral, you mean march, right? In such cases I count only models who appears in the front, and I'm sure it's right... VI march 1997 cover I counted only for Amber Valletta and Naomi Campbell. Kristen and Karen aren't really on the cover, they next to cover Also, June 2006 cover allowed for Iselin Siterio, January 2002 for Carmen Kass and Anne Catherine Lacroix etc.
June 26, 201212 yr great thread! I never knew Missy was such a VI girl... and even if Cindy has more American Vogue covers than Amber and Claudia pretty impressive theirs were only from the 90s. (would be interesting to see how the lists change if you start with the 80s) I can't believe how few top 5 lists Naomi is in. especially for UK. No wonder it was called the Supermodel Era though. the newer era models don't stand a chance beating the Supers records.
June 26, 201212 yr I to look at Vogue Covers, Do you have the Vogue UK with Christy from June 1990 bigger? I've never seen it before.
June 26, 201212 yr Very interesting thread I wonder what the top 5 models list for Vogue Japan is... I guess Daria, Raquel or Natasha have the biggest number of covers for Vogue Nippon.
June 27, 201212 yr Author I'm glad you liked the idea guys great thread! I never knew Missy was such a VI girl... and even if Cindy has more American Vogue covers than Amber and Claudia pretty impressive theirs were only from the 90s. No wonder it was called the Supermodel Era though. the newer era models don't stand a chance beating the Supers records. Yeah, unfortunately it's all about celebs now... I to look at Vogue Covers, Do you have the Vogue UK with Christy from June 1990 bigger? I've never seen it before. Enjoy, Mick It's by Arthur Elgort Very interesting thread I wonder what the top 5 models list for Vogue Japan is... I guess Daria, Raquel or Natasha have the biggest number of covers for Vogue Nippon. I thought about other issues, but they haven't such history as American, British, French and Italian magazines. Russian version started in 1998, Chinese in 2005 and Japanese in 1999, so basically other editions exist only for a decade... but if I will do the continuation VJ would be the first
June 27, 201212 yr Can you do Vogue Germany? Its been around for a while. I'm sure Claudia has that one. even if its not such a big edition Australia has been around for a long time too, and they used to produce some nice covers/non reprints.
June 27, 201212 yr Author Ok, I'll think about continuation Turns out VG published since 1979, didn't know... Hope, you're right about Claudia, otherwise it would be not fair
August 31, 201212 yr Author So, let's go on and, as I promised to Layla90, I start from Vogue Japan))) Vogue Japan (Nippon) On the fifth place with 3 covers - Abbey Lee Kershaw, Doutzen Kroes, Elise Crombez, Lara Stone, Maggie Rizer and Trish Goff On the fourth place with 4 covers – Gisele Bundchen, Julia Stegner and Stella Tennant On the third place with 5 covers – Angela Lindvall, Gemma Ward, Jessica Stam, Natasha Poly and Raquel Zimmermann On the second place with 6 covers - Kate Moss, Lily Donaldson, Natalia Vodianova and Sasha Pivovarova And first place with 7 covers goes to Daria Werbowy
August 31, 201212 yr Author Vogue Germany (Deutschland) On the fifth place with 5 covers – Carolyn Murphy, Kirsty Hume, Maggie Rizer, Nadja Auermman, Naomi Campbell and Tatjana Patitz On the fourth place with 6 covers – Christy Turlington On the third place with 7 covers – Audrey Marnay, Linda Evangelisa and Yasmeen Ghauri On the second place with 8 covers – Julia Stegner And on the first place with 13 covers - Claudia Schiffer
August 31, 201212 yr Author Vogue Russia On the fifth place with only 2 covers are 20 models! – Abbey Lee Keshaw, Anja Rubik, Anna Selezneva, Aynur Rustambekova, Brigitte Marie Swidrak, Cameron Russell, Claudia Schiffer, Daria Werbowy, Elizabeth Hurley, Irina Bondarenko, Jeisa Chiminazzo, Katarina Scola, Liberty Ross, Magdalena Frackowiak, Mariacarla Boscono, Natalia Semanova, Raquel Zimmermann, Sasha Pivovarova, Tetyana Brazhnyk and Valentina Zeliaeva On the fourth place with 3 covers – Anne Vyalitsyna, Carmen Kass, Eugenia Volodina, Kate Moss, Maryna Linchuck, Polina Kuklina and Tanya Dziahileva On the third place with 4 covers - Karolina Kurkova and Naomi Campbell On the second place with 7 covers – Natalia Vodianova (I know, I thought too that she gets first place ) On the first place with 9 covers - Natasha Poly
August 31, 201212 yr Author Vogue Spain (España) On the fifth place with 3 covers – Caroline Trentini, Cindy Crawford, Daniela Pestova, Esther Canadas, Fernanda Tavares, Filippa Hamilton, Frankie Rayder, Laetitia Casta, Liya Kebede, Missy Rayder, Monica Bellucci, Stephanie Seymour and Valentina Zelyaeva On the fourth place with 4 covers – Carmen Kass, Eva Herzigova, Kate Moss, Malgosia Bela, Sarah Murdoch (O'Hare) and Toni Garrn On the third place with 5 covers – Christy Turlington, Isabeli Fontana, Karolina Kurkova and Naomi Campbell On the second place with 6 covers – Claudia Schiffer And first place with 8 covers goes to first celebrity! so far - Penelope Cruz
August 31, 201212 yr Author As you see, for these four Vogue editions I did covers only for the first three places, cause doing only 3 covers for 6 models or just 2 covers for 20 models! is completely senseless, hope you will understand
