Ditto on that request! I just featured a blog post on her.

Looks like you got slightly larger images than I did. Any trick to that?

No theres really no trick i just enter the URL of the picture by selecting "copy" enter the URL into the URL tab up top, hit enter than done. Though alot of people on the site know how to make images bigger or sometimes clearer by getting them from the source(kohls, macys, etc..).

Are you describing how to get them from kohls.com or how to post them here? Kohl's uses a Flash interface to display their daily ads online. In the past I've always just screen-grabed the large preview. I see that your links are accessing the JPGs directly from the Kohl's servers. Like so: "http://akimages.shoplocal.com/dyn_li/600.0.90.0/Retailers/Kohls/120129_08AsBDE_2_99.JPG". They are slightly larger than the screen grabs, but still have a lot of compression on them. I wish there was a way to access the full-res images that the layout and design department use.

On the kohl's site, if you click 'html' in the upper right corner of the page, you'll get the non-flash version of the ads, which will enable you to save images directly as jpg's.

The thing that really makes me mad about the kohl's site is that for the last 2 years they've been cutting off the faces of the models in the swimwear section!!

  • 4 weeks later...

I'm tempted to say "magic", or equivalently, "I have a very large screen". But the truth is I have software that uses the documented features of the image server to download the picture in several pieces that it then sticks together. When you have an ID, give me a list of image numbers (e.g. 1097033 for this one) and I will contribute to the thread.

Best wishes,
