She is actually an Uzbek. I had recognized her Turkic features but couldnt exactly pin it, ofc

Her father is Uzbek and her mother is Tatar Russian. Tatars are also Turkic.

 

I found it funny how many people on the VS instagram said she didn't look Russian. One went as far as saying that Irina was Latina and she changed her name to be more appealing to VS.

Latina? 

 India could have been more accurate

Anyway, she's not an ethnic Russian, despite her Russian sounding name.  Bukhara at one point used to be the  intellectual center of greater Persia, until annexed and Russified (even the names )

Russia is a pretty diverse country (they have over 180 ethnicities), not everyone is blonde and blue eyed as the world seems to think, and if she considers herself Russian, then she's Russian.

Of course she is, calm down lol.  My point was about her features obviously tied up with her  'Ethnicity' didnt want any connotations about merits of her nationality.

Anyway, I find it a little disappointing she wasnt considered by VS, She is too pretty and they had so many blondes already o.0

For me, Blanca and Irina would have been perfect; both stunning brunettes and have a basic knowledge of English. As much as I love Kate G, I find her lack of English a bit bothersome. Of course, she'll learn it eventually but I feel like it's a bit too soon to make her an Angel.

Blanca and Irina would have brought an air of elegance to VS; a lot (if not most) of the new girls are all very girl-next-door which is not bad but not very eclectic either. I hope at least VS will continue working with them both.
