December 3, 201311 yr Discovered in Copenhagen ordering pizza at the age of 16, heading straight to Paris 2010 for shows, then onto New York - it hasn't slowed down for her since. Now 20, Caroline Brasch Neilson has multiple runways and campaigns behind her, has finished school and knows what's she's doing in the modelling game. She talks Victoria's Secret, her love of clothes, and how her dad still rings her when he see's her credit card statement.] SG SG: Where are you from? CBN: I’m from Copenhagen. SG: What have you been up to? CBN: Well I just did the Victoria’s Secret show. SG: How was it? CBN: It was fun you know. SG: Did you have to smile the whole time? CBN: Yeh I had to smile the whole time! It’s so different to what I’m used to, you end up getting a pain in your face. SG: Tell us what you had to wear? CBN: Panties with OMG on my ***. I was in the PINK section because I’m a ‘baby’ – apparently. And then I just had a big sweater and a hat. SG: What did you do to prepare for the show? CBNPilates on Bleeker Street. But after 2 weeks I didn’t notice any difference so I stopped. Maybe I was no good at it. SG Did they want you to do weird stuff prior – like special face masks, or hair stuff? CBN Oh yeh we had to an air facial, and then a spray tan, but that was all done at the show. It was kind of nice to have a spray tan. Maybe that’s why I look like I have more colour in my face. It’s cool – they spray abs on your stomach, and then muscles here, [points to her thighs] down your legs. I felt stronger after! SG What about your personal style, and ‘street style’ you’re all over those blogs. Do you plan your outfits during fashion week? CBN I’m really into clothes. I was always into them, ever since I was a little kid. I just like dressing up for different events, and I like when people can see that it’s your style – not just like what a designer has given you for a party, but it’s something you would really wear. I never plan my outfits, some of the girls do. Like Hanne Gabby, she makes looks during fashion week. I’m like ‘Hanne, what are you doing tomorrow, want to get coffee?’ and she’s like I can’t I’m doing looks! I mean it’s a good idea, because you’re running everywhere, it’s stressful during that time and she always looks amazing. SG How would you describe your style? CBN I like sneakers and a lot of colour, but it depends on the weather. In the winter time I like darker colours - grey, beige, black. Then in summer I wear more colour. I’d describe my style as sporty, hiphop – but it’s different, like euro sporty. I like my sneakers to be fresh, white. I like everything oversized, I’d never have skinny jeans. I just bought some oversized denim jeans from Louis Vuitton, with the monogram print on them. I’m really into monogram’s and logo’s right now. I love all the old French Vogue’s, where it’s all about logo. Feels really 90′s. SG On dressing for the winter..tell us how you layer. CBN I like big everything, big sweater, big jeans, then with a some kind of coloured scarf, or a bit of colour – but I don’t really think about dressing, well I do, but you know it’s not thought out. SG On puffa jackets – once I saw you in this pink Moncler jacket what was that? CBN Oh it’s called Ganni it’s a Danish brand, it’s really good isn’t it! And I have this Lanvin leopard one also that I really like. SG Whose style do you admire? CBN Her name is really difficult to pronounce, Carolin de…you know her for sure. No her names not Carolin, what is she called? You know she styles for V magazine and did all of that 90′s supermodel stuff….Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele that’s it, her name is so hard! She wears loads of Adidas, I love that. I’m really into Y3 right now. And Chanel. I love Chanel. SG What do you think about IT items? CBN I don’t really look for IT items. SG Vintage? CBN I’m really bad at vintage. People would think that I’d be good with it, but I’m actually terrible. There’s always so much, and I’m not really into wearing something that other people have worn. SG Do you spend all your money on clothes? CBN I spend a lot of money on clothes [laughs]…sometimes I get a phone call from my dad, and he’s like ‘you need to stop right now, I’m closing your credit card!!’ and I’m just like SORRY!! Working in fashion definitely makes me spend more money on clothes. SG Who are your favourite designers from Copenhagen? CBN A label called Heartmade. SG: What do you do for your hair? CBN: Really nothing. And I always use the cheapest shampoos.
