Beckham backing Capello

David Beckham is convinced Fabio Capello is the right man to lead Real Madrid.

Capello has gone some way to reviving Real's fortunes this term, but there has been unrest in and around the club and it was reported last week that he had offered to resign.

Real officials have come out and publicly backed Capello and Beckham, who has been restored to the side in recent weeks having been out of favour earlier in the season, has thrown his support behind the Italian.

"He hasn't said anything," Beckham told Sky Sports News in response to questions about Capello's future. "He doesn't say too much about what is said and written in the press because he is a professional man and will tell us when we need to know things.

"He has proved himself over many years. He is an experienced manager and you look at his record, it is amazing so I believe he is the right man for the team at this moment.

"But there are so many changes at this club that you know it can change day after day."

Real claimed a 3-2 win over Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday and Beckham was pleased with the display.

"We have got to take a lot from this game tonight because at the weekend we were involved in a game where we didn't play very well and the fans were on our backs; rightly so," he added.

"First half in particular the passion was there, we were in control and the fans were incredible.

"Before the game if you would have said we'd score three goals and win 3-2 we would have probably taken it, so we will take a lot from the game but we are still disappointed to let them score late on."
