[UltraLoveMoon7]

2PM is a seven-member boy band from Seoul, South Korea. They are managed by Park Jin-Young of JYP Entertainment. The members are Jaebeom, Nichkhun, Junsu, Taecyeon, Junho, Wooyoung, and Chansung. 2PM is one of the two subgroups branched out from the eleven-member boy band One Day, the other being 2AM. They debuted with the song "10 out of 10" which showcased their mix of acrobatic and b-boy dance style.

Jaebeom

Jaebeom is the leader and oldest member. He was born in Seattle, Washington, where he also auditioned for JYP Entertainment.

Junsu

* Real Name: Kim Junsu (김준수)

* Date of Birth: January 15, 1988 (1988-01-15) (age 21)

* Position: Lead Vocalist

Junsu is know as the main vocalist of the group. He is originally from Daejeon, Korea.

Nichkhun

* Real Name: Nichkhun Buck Horvejkul

* Stage Name: Nichkhun (닉쿤)

* Date of Birth: June 24, 1988 (1988-06-24) (age 20)

* Position:Vocalist, Dancer

Nichkhun is a Thai American. He was born in Rancho Cucamonga, California. He was scouted by a talent agent in Hollywood, California while he was attending a Korean concert. Consequently, he had to learn Hangul Korean and Mandarin Chinese in order to partake in the group's activities.

Taecyeon

* Full Name: Ok Taecyeon (옥택연)

* Date of Birth: December 27, 1988 (1988-12-27) (age 20)

* Position:Lead rapper, Vocalist, Dancer

Taecyeon is the main rapper of the group. He was born in Seoul, South Korea but immigrated to Bedford, Massachusetts at a young age. He auditioned for JYP Entertainment in New York.

Wooyoung

* Full Name: Jang Wooyoung (장우영)

* Date of Birth: April 30, 1989 (1989-04-30) (age 20)

* Position:Vocalist, Dancer

He is from Pusan, Korea and was selected as a JYP trainee through MGoon's JYP auditions. He won first place in this audition.

Junho

* Full Name: Lee Junho (이준호)

* Date of Birth: January 25, 1990 (1990-01-25) (age 19)

* Position:Vocalist, Dancer

Junho joined the one day group following a winning of a contract with JYP Entertainment after he won a contest in JYP's Superstar Survival in 2006.

Chansung

* Full Name: Hwang Chansung (황찬성)

* Date of Birth: February 11, 1990 (1990-02-11) (age 19)

Jaebeom in Nylone June 2009

Park Jae Beom (JaeBeom of 2PM) did a photo shoot and interview for Nylon’s June issue. Excerpts are below.

How did you like the tattoo we drew on for today’s shoot? I thought you’d have a tattoo since you rapped and b-boyed (breakdanced) while growing up in Seattle; I’m surprised [that you don't].

It’s cool. The company (JYP Entertainment) won’t allow it since we’re an idol group. But I certainly want to get one later on.

How do you like photo shoots?

I had fun. It wasn’t tiring at all. Since I exercise several hours a day, this extent is not tiring. It would have good if I was a bit taller and better looking.

You're figure and moves are good.

Before debuting as [part of] 2PM, I even received a prize as a b-boy in the States.

I saw a video of your first place win in Marysville’s Breaking the Silence – your body movements are very free and agile.

Thank you. I still do it. Even now, my friends who are there keep winning the prize for first place. It’s a team called AOM – Art of Movement. Whenever I visit the States I go out to competitions with them.

I’ve heard that you clashed a lot with the company’s training methods when you first went in because you liked to dance freely without set schedules.

I’m the type to manage myself. It was really tough because the scheduling didn’t suit me, the food didn’t suit me, and I couldn’t communicate well either. I also wanted to see my family. There weren’t many trainees at that time either. I even thought of giving up because it was difficult but truthfully, it’s embarrassing to give up. I didn’t want to disappoint my mom either. Now, my mom as well as my friends are proud of me. I’m happy.

Weren’t you uneasy how the group almost dissipated because the members kept switching?

JunSu and I were here at the beginning but the kids kept coming and going after that. I wasn’t nervous. I don’t know. I just thought this is how it is. I don’t have a worrying personality. I just thought, ‘What happens will happen, to the extent of effort I put in’. I think that in life when I work hard, things turn out well; if I’m lazy, things don’t turn out. I think that’s as it should be. I used to play basketball until high school when I took up dancing and singing.

When was the first time you got into music and dance?

In grade 2 of elementary school my older male cousin was listening to rap on a walkman. The track was Warren G’s ‘Regulator’. I’ve completely been in love with hip hop since then. I didn’t think that I have to do something about it. I simply kept buying and listening to CDs since then. In kindergarten, I listened to Michael Jackson a lot. If you look at it one way, it’s really amazing. I’d follow along and dance while watching Michael Jackson. To be honest, I debated a lot before coming into JYP because I enjoy simply dancing and chilling with friends. But then I thought that it would be good to show something rather than just dance like that.

What’s the most important thing you’ve learned since coming to JYP?

That you can’t do it if you’re weak. I think that only very strong people can become singers. I don’t think it’s something that any regular person can do.

What does it mean to be strong?

A person with will power. A tough person who can stand to the end. It’s like that especially at JYP. Since we do just acrobatics for four hours and such. From the beginning your leg can get torn and it really hurts. It’s difficult.

Then you must be a really tough person?

That’s right. Since I’ve gotten this far. I just kept exercising by myself. Other people seem to use trainers to get their ideal body. I didn’t know. I used to run outside in the early morning in the middle of winter.

Why? In order to look good?

I just liked Usher’s six pack. I worked out my abs since seeing [usher's] in middle school. In high school I did weight training to make my body light. I had to since I was a b-boy.

There must be some things that you don’t do in order to maintain your ideal body.

I don’t smoke nor do I drink alcoh

ol. I dislike it. It’s not good for one’s health either. Alcohol doesn’t taste good either. I’ve never tried smoking even once so I’m not sure about that.

Asked that “you guys appeared late in the flood of idols. What’s 2pm’s strategy?” they made their poses straight and stiff and broke off their playful looks.

“That’s our performance. We are only the one who are able to do and show.” It tends toward an easy dance to take nowadays, so 2pm’s acrobatic performances look better.

In this world of dancing singer’s, it’s not allowed to make mistakes, but 2pm cares for each others’ movement and dances more energetically compared to others.

And their connections can be sensed by observing 2pm’s actions only for 3 minutes, looking after each others, kidding, and laughing together.

They’re being talkative and suddenly serious. They look loose but they are smart. It’s almost unlikely to express their n-dimensional aspects with 1 dimensional letter on 2 dimensional paper sheets. They’re stereophonic idols, living vividly next to us, not in the holly place.

Q. First impression

Taecyeon: Wooyoung seemed very rude.

Jaebeom: You can say that again. Wooyoung didn’t say hello and were displeased with us, the strangers…

Taecyeon: When I saw Wooyoung for the first time, he’s just taken a shower, rubbing his eyes. So I said “Hello” before he did. You know what? With his eyes rubbed and his face distorted, he reluctantly said “Ah,yes, Hi” That’s all!!!

Jaebeom: We’re Hyung. Senior!

Wooyoung: Omg It’s really perverted. What Jaebeom hyung said happened when we didn’t know each other.

Jaebeom: I was in JYP building. You had to know that I was attached to JYP!

Wooyoung: I was there for an audition…Anyway! It’s because I was waiting for my turn, listening to music. You always tease me that I didn’t greet at that time.

Taecyeon: How about me?

Wooyoung: I didn’t know who Taecyeon hyung is. I was too tired and out of mind to prepare for the audition. I even asked “did you have a meal?” Wa~you just talked only about your side!

Taecyeon: it’s truth that wooyoung is rude. Every member thought in the same way. It means that his first impression was………

Jaebeom: The more we’re close, the more he’s abrupt. HAHA. Actually, I love him~

Q. Uncomfortable moment due to the number of members

Taecyeon: When it comes to choosing dishes. Did you see Jaebeom ordering dishes? Usually, we made one selection. This time it’s no need but we ordered both pizza and hamburgers. That always happens.

Taecyeon: Junho, Chansung and Wooyoung prefer Korean traditional food, but Jaebeom, Khun and I prefer western food such as pizza and hamburgers. That’s the reason why we have a quarrel every time. I would say I like all food.

Wooyoung: He’s talking about only his side. He is something weird! Junsu, let’s have an interview without Taecyeon from now on.

Jaebeom: If Taecyeon is tired, he just skips meals and sleeps.

Junsu: Ah~ I was not supposed to tell the story but I have to. Taecyeon eats his dish if he likes it. If not, he eats others’ dishes.

Taecyeon: Then, Why not tell your own story?

Q. Who’s the most ambitious?

Teacyeon: Career woman and free and easy. Good looking and S line are plus factors.

Jaebeom: Performance. I show my performance everybody don’t and can’t. Mine is almost new.

Taecyeon: We’re the first team who sings live songs on air and does acrobatics altogether.

Jaebeom: It’s early to say but people say like that in case of performance, it’s 2pm.

Teacyeon: A lot of people enjoy our stages and feel us that we are different from existing idols. I think they love our real, natural and funny lives off stage. That is 2pm’s only weapon.

Happy Birthday Nichkhun (21)

For Nichkhun's first birthday after 2PM's debut, fans made the pretty boy's day very special. 2PM to release first overseas album

2PM will release an official album in Thailand leading the ‘Thailand Korean wave’.

2PM will release a ‘2PM Thailand Special Edition’ which will include 2 CDs with songs from their 1st single ‘Hottest time of the day’ and their new single ‘2:00PM Time for Change’ together with a DVD containing the group’s MV.

The DVD will include the MVs ‘10 points out of 10′ and ‘Again & Again’ which had both taken the boys up to the #1 spot on Thailand MTV and Channel V chart.

Recently 2PM member Nich Khun has also been in the limelight for doing CF modelling in Thailand.

2PM talked about releasing an album in Thailand, “We are very excited to release an overseas album, it is even more exciting that we are releasing in Thailand where we have won 3 #1s on their charts this year. We are looking forward to meeting our fans in Thailand for our promotions there.”

Meanwhile the boys are promoting their latest hit ‘I Hate You’.
