It’s a boy for Twilight‘s

The actor’s rep confirms to

US that the couple are the proud new parents of son Monroe Jackson Rathbone VI, born this morning at 9:43am weighing 8 pounds, 11 ounces.

The 27-year-old star confessed earlier this year that he was eagerly awaiting parenthood, saying, "One of the greatest thing I could expect to be in life is a father. I’m very excited!"

Baby Monroe is the first child for Jackson and Sheila, a burlesque dancer. The pair met while he was touring with his band 100 Monkeys.
