His father is an architect and interior designer based in San Francisco. Dane was married to actress Rebecca Gayheart on October 29, 2004. Dane has acted as a recurring guest star on the television series Charmed. He appeared in seasons five and six as Phoebe Halliwell's year-long boyfriend Jason Dean. He also appeared in the "The Basket" (2000), "Feast" (2005), "Open Water 2" (2006), and many other great roles. Dane Also plays the character of Multiple Man in the 2006 film X-Men 3: The Last Stand. February 6, 200817 yr ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star battles cancerEric Dane, who plays Dr. Mark “McSteamy” Sloan, on Grey’s Anatomy was diagnosed with skin cancer last month.He initally thought he had a bad case of chapped lips, but upon further inspection, the actor realized something was seriously wrong, reported OK! magazine.“I went to my dermatologist (and) he said it was malignant tissue caused by sun damage,” Dane revealed.The malignancy was treated by freezing the cancerous tissue off with liquid nitrogen. However, his skin had a severe reaction to the medication after the procedure, making it difficult to eat. The actor estimated that he dropped at least 10 pounds while dealing with the cancer. Fortunately for Dane, the procedure was a success and the actor is doing well.
