November 21, 200717 yr INZAGHI ON CAGLIARI-MILANMILAN - During today's inauguration of Bwin's new promotion campaign, Inzaghi talked about the upcoming Cagliari-Milan match: 'We need to win league games, since we haven't been doing too well in Serie A. We go to Cagliari, against a team who just got a new coach. It won't be easy, but in Serie A nothing ever is.'
November 21, 200717 yr INZAGHI: 'Without fans there is no football'MILAN - Inzaghi also talked about the decision to play Atalanta-Milan again behind closed doors: 'I think the people who made a mistake should be punished, not the fans in general. To me football without fans does not exist.' The striker then talked about the Club World Cup: 'Now let's think about the league and the Champions League. But winning in Japan would complete a truly exceptional threesome. I'm missing it as a trophy, not because I haven't scored in it. If I were to score good, but that's not the objective.'
November 21, 200717 yr SuperPippo eyes Euro spotMilan hitman and World Cup winner Pippo Inzaghi has put his name forward for Italy’s Euro 2008 squad. This evening Coach Roberto Donadoni revealed he has already picked the basic 23-man group to take to Austria and Switzerland next summer, but four or five places still need to be assigned. It is a message for new faces like Giampaolo Pazzini and Alessandro Rosina as well as elder statesmen who have recently been dropped, such as Alessandro Del Piero and Inzaghi.“I am always more than happy to accept the call of my country. If they need me, then I am there,” responded SuperPippo.“Donadoni will make his choices and even if he doesn’t include me, that will not be a problem.”Inzaghi was decisive for the Rossoneri last term, netting both goals in the 2-1 Champions League Final victory over Liverpool.Although he only made one appearance in the 2006 World Cup, he still scored the ‘safety’ goal in the 2-0 defeat of the Czech Republic. He recently became the all-time top scorer in UEFA club competition with 62 goals. His record for the Azzurri is 25 in 57 caps.
November 24, 200717 yr FIFA DAY AT MILANELLOTwelve days from Milan's departure for the 'Fifa Club World Cup Japan 2007', at Milanello the press conference of the presentation was held. - THE DECLARATIONS OF LEONARDO, MALDINI, INZAGHI -MILANELLO - Today at the Milanello sporting center a press conference was held to present the 'Fifa Club World Cup Japan 2007' to which Milan will take part between 7 and 16 December 2007 in Yokohama, Japan. The conference saw the participation of Leonardo, Paolo Maldini, Filippo Inzaghi, here is what they said: LEONARDO:"For Milan this world-class competition represents a lot. It's always been an important tournament because it elects the World Champion club. For our club, in the last few years, it's a truly prestigious objective because it allows the club itself and the players to position themselves on a platform of worldwide recognition. All teams who are participating have a certain weight in the history of football. Boca Juniors and Milan are prestigious teams, they have the advantage of participating straight from the semi-finals, but there are several new rules and sometimes the unpredictable can happen and one of these teams can get knocked out. There will be teams of great tradition like Milan and the South American teams. I've been in Japan two years, and I know the Urawa Red Diamonds well, they'll have the advantage of playing at home, they are a step away from winning their league and I think we will find a team very motivated to take part in such a prestigious tournament. They have ten Japanese internationals in their squad and at the moment they are the most important team in Japan.PAOLO MALDINI"We are very proud to participate in the Club World Cup. It's the first time we play it with this new formula which I think is more difficult than the previous one. Fortunately we will have the chance the get used to the time difference and the rhythm of Japanese life. On a physical level I think the team arrive in Japan at the best possible time. Personally I remember the finals I've already played: the first time we went to play it without being fully aware of the importance of this Cup, we only realised it after we won. The last three, instead, still hurt. The first one, against San Paolo, we lost after having played at the same level as them. In the last two we went home with a sour taste because we were not inferior and we really wanted to do well."INZAGHI:"Personally I participated only once to this competition, against Boca Juniors. It didn't go well, but this time it will be nice to be in Japan to have the opportunity to play against several teams and that's why Milan positioned this Club World Cup in first place on their objectives after the successes of Athens and Montecarlo. But we always tried to give our best in the league and the Champions League, where currently we are top of our group. We have been preparing for the Club World Cup trying to give our maximum in every game played until now, then when we'll arrive in Japan in December the objective will be to bring home this Cup which this group are still missing."

December 2, 200717 yr AC Milan 0:0 Juventus - match reportOnly the frame of the goal and some fantastic goalkeeping ensured the big game Milan-Juventus ended in a stalemate. These two sides dominated Serie A in the 1990s, but this was a head-to-head battle to stay in the Scudetto race, especially for a Milan outfit that had not won a single domestic game at San Siro this season. Ronaldo, Marek Jankulovski, Mauro Camoranesi and Zdenek Grygera were sidelined and Claudio Ranieri surprisingly chose to drop Alessandro Del Piero. It was immediately a very aggressive and fast-paced game. Vincenzo Iaquinta chested down the ball for David Trezeguet to drill wide, but the move was stopped for an incorrect offside flag.Trezeguet went even closer on 11 minutes, as Cristiano Zanetti won back the ball in midfield and placed the searching pass over the defence for the Frenchman's volley to smack against the base of the near post.Gigi Buffon slapped a corner kick off Kakha Kaladze's head at the back post, then Clarence Seedorf toe-poked the ball inches past the upright. Nelson Dida smothered a Zanetti volley and Kaladze required a perfectly-timed intervention to prevent Iaquinta going clear on goal.Alberto Gilardino was halted for a very tight offside flag and Nicola Legrottaglie was booked for stopping a Kaka counter. Buffon got down well to block an Andrea Pirlo snapshot that bounced just in front of the goalkeeper.Cristian Molinaro did extremely well to take Pirlo's long pass off Kaka's feet in the D, then Pavel Nedved cut back past Kaladze with a dummy and slipped as he pulled the trigger from 10 yards. Alessandro Nesta had penalty appeals for a Jonathan Zebina embrace, but Trezeguet's first-time pass set Nedved free and Serginho nodded out for a corner before Iaquinta could pounce.Straight after the restart Juventus had perhaps their best chance so far. Hasan Salihamidzic skipped past Serginho with some wonderful footwork, his fierce rising strike bringing a brilliant one-handed save out of Dida. The move continued and Nedved's follow-up was charged down.Moments later Buffon was also called into a fantastic reaction save with his shin from Kaka's volley. Gilardino put the loose ball into the net, but he was flagged offside.Gilardino was furious when he just failed to get on the end of Kaka's cross, as he felt he was held back by Legrottaglie as the two came sliding in to the six-yard box.Dida got down well to capture a touched-on Iaquinta free kick, while Buffon had difficulty spilling a Pirlo set-piece and grabbing it at the second attempt after it had looped into the air. Molinaro exchanged passes with Nedved, but the taut cross flashed across the face of goal with Iaquinta and Trezeguet unable to get the final touch.Carlo Ancelotti went for experience, introducing Pippo Inzaghi and Paolo Maldini for Gilardino and the disappointing Serginho. Zebina slipped and almost left Kaka clear on goal before Legrottaglie cleaned up.Kaka turned between three defenders and had his shot charged down by Legrottaglie. Inzaghi showed he can still ride the offside flag as his powerful effort was parried by Buffon at point-blank range.Ranieri also made a double substitution with Del Piero and Marco Marchionni on for Salihamidzic and Iaquinta. Nesta intercepted a pass just before Del Piero could bury it, then veteran Maldini skipped between two defenders for Seedorf's cross-shot.Maldini was almost the unlikely match-winner in the final minute, his strike whistling over the bar from the edge of the box.In stoppages Massimo Ambrosini rolled a ball across the box for Inzaghi, but Buffon stood his ground and managed to use his legs to shield the goal.A minute later it was Legrottaglie's turn to charge down a Kaka curler from the edge of the penalty area.
