  1. She looked freaking gorgeous and that dress was exquisite, loved the nude makeup and the hair was a nice touch. Her look is everywhere on social media and it got more buzz than all the models and even some stars. I don’t know what unrealistic expectations y’all have of her but it’s ridiculous at the point.

Max Mara S/S 2020 : Gigi Hadid, Joan Smalls, Adriana Lima & Irina Shayk by Steven Meisel

So happy she bagged Max Mara! Equally happy that her presence in the picture is more commanding than the others

  5. @lucyford just likes to see things from both ends and I’m kinda like that so I get where she’s coming. I mean, she didn’t say or imply the ALxPuma line flopped, she just merely stated the obvious. The collab didn’t receive the promotion it should have gotten, both Adriana and Puma failed to do so. And it’s only natural to say that the line would have been an even greater success if they promoted it the right way.

But yeah, I get everyone’s point as well. A win is a win regardless

I’m glad it did well with virtually no promo. Organic queen 👑

Can you please share  some links of the articles?

How so? Elaborate on the work Jasmine has done compared to them? has she had as many Vogue covers as Adut who managed to receive 5 this September alone breaking a new record and just received her 12th Vogue cover as of this November. Or has she done any HF shows in the last 2 years? You’re right...the comparison is quite laughable. Jasmine is CLEARLY more commerical and both Adut and Anok are high fashion.

You do know that commercial models get me exposure right?

Adut can get all them Vogues and high fashion campaigns but without the commercial modeling crossover, she’s going to remain behind all of the VS girls. By far.

    See Daria Werbowy, Saskia etc.

Although I do agree race will always play a huge factor..look at Adut Akech Bior tho and she’s only been modeling for what? 4 years? she’s already becoming a household name...same goes for Anok Yai. I read somewhere though it had more to do with the fashion industry’s standard of beauty for black women. You have to be either really light skin and racially ambiguous or completely dark-skin, cropped haircut and very tall and thin, they called that look the “African village girl” model I believe that Alek Wek started. Which does make sense considering the HUNDREDS of South Sudanese models dominating the industry rn (like Adut and Anok) who are a part of that special “look”. And please, let’s not count Winnie as a model ever lmao that girl is...something

Adut and Anok are nowhere near being  household names or even close to it. Neither is Jasmine but she’s WAY ahead of them. The comparison is quite laughable.

Despite the fact that no one in the Angel lineup is pulling in Gisele bucks at her VS height, they are still making way more money than I am and I’m sure you and everyone else posting on these forums, too. They probably make more in a year/the past few years (2015 Angels in particular) than most Americans see in a decade at their jobs.

I wish someone would transfer the amount of the current VS Angels ‘non lucrative’ contracts in my bank account, I could do a lot of good things with that money, paying off my student loans for one.

Comfortable how? And how did Jasmine limit her options outside of being a black model in a modeling industry in which white beauty is the standard that everyone else doesn’t measure up too? She doesn’t have the same options as her white peers. That’s a fact.

Really, what black model in Jasmine’s peer group is doing better, cooler things in fashion? Or their career, period?

In her her peer group, outside of Winnie Harlow, Jasmine has the most followers on IG compared to Jordan Dunn, Joan Smalls, Jasmine Sanders (and that doesn’t even count the Joja account, she might have Winnie beat if we combine both).

As a matter of fact, I think Joan and Jasmine S. buy their followers. Their engagement numbers are way too low for their followings, compared to when Jas T. had their followings. For instance, Jasmine S. has a pic of her and Zendaya on her IG right now with only 70k likes. If Jas had a Zendaya picture on her IG, I’m sure she’d have double, if not triple, the number of likes compared to Jasmine S.

At this rate, like Jas said to a follower on one of her IG pics recently, Jas has been walking runways for a decade now, so what if she wants to watch shows and is over walking them? I watched Joja’s How We Became Models video on YouTube and I imagine going back and forth for show castings 2-4 times a year gets old, real quick.

I personally would rather be in Jas’ shoes with a ‘non-lucrative’ VS contract than still walking runways at nearly 30 years old, hoping to get casted in a multi-girl campaign for a non-prestigious fashion house that’s not paying VS coins, only to have to do the same thing next season. That sounds horrible.

    No lies detected.

Also, hats off to you guys for sticking around in here. I bailed on VS a while back but I’m still low key rooting for a comeback. Here’s to hoping 2020 brings that fashion show we deserve back

Or December, if it could be a product suited for the holiday sales.

November is equally as perfect as December because people do a lot of shopping in both months. So I think it’s good she’s doing it in November. It’s a smart business move.

I just hope she actually promotes the heck out of it like a Taylor Swift album.

  11. I’d like to see her walk but since when is sitting front row not beneficial? Front row means you have a good relationship with the designer or even the casting director and they deem you influential enough to be there. You also get to network with the other people in the audience (some of those important people aren’t even in the industry so you’d be broadening your contact list)  and most times create friendship which can go on to bring walking together or just be useful in the future. With runway on the other hand, you’re blending in with just the other models. As a model, she’s in no shortage of model friends.

It’s not only youtubers in the audience. I’ve been seeing a lot of high profile celebrities as well.

I’m just happy seeing her partaking in fashion week and looking great ♥️

Now it released officially with other Maybelline girls looks’ and it’s fair enough to say her looks are the best. It was actually worth the wait.

Can you send me a link to where I can see the pictures of the other girls?
