Wow, I'm really surprised that Jasmine's social media Wow, I'm really surprised by Jasmine's being so low on the social media scores given how much VS promotes her. I think Lais' language barrier problems are still a factor, even though her accent is better than Adriana's; she can't express herself that well. I follow her on IG and she does make a number of mistakes when she posts in English. Also, as a non-native English speaker in the US, I can say that at least for myself that my personality is a lot more outgoing when I am talking in my native language than in English, even though I've been here for years and speak English fluently. I wouldn't be surprised if Lais is more outgoing/talkative in Portuguese. The sad thing is that VS seems to have devolved Lais' participation with the brand. When she just started working with them, when her English needed A LOT of work, she still shot a Valentine's commercial where she talked. On the year of the Boston bombing, she was supposed to have an event at a VS store with two angels. Because of the bombing the event got cancelled and Lais never got another opportunity to do store events... Maybe VS felt more pressured to give her more participation when she was the only black model working regularly with them, but now they have US-born Jasmine, who is a Native speaker and also a lot more outspoken than Lais. Whatever happens with her at VS, I hope she will still have a good career and pay her bills.

Isn't that basically every girl in the PINK segment minus the ones who are already angels? How does this pass off as an "article?"

Out of the newbies, I really liked Maria, Ming, Kelly and Sara. The other girls didn't make much of an impression on me. Cara can go home IMO, but I highly doubt that VS is gonna let go of Cara, considering how massive she's on social media..

Haha.. that game show part was so awkward Well, the whole thing was really awkward Out of the three newcomers I think I prefer Kelly Gale. Martha Hunt didn't impress me in the VSFS, and while I thought Sara Sampaio just exuded charisma, I am not sure how I feel about Sara and Karlie being on the line-up together. I mean, Karlie already looks like the odd one out with her 6'1" height. Imagine Sara, who's 5'8" next to her o_O

I hope Lindsay doesn't get replaced by Martha Hunt, especially now that I am starting to warm up to her more

Thoughts on the show: BI: Candice's opening was definitely an improvement over her 2011 opening with the ballet segment, more upbeat but I don't think it beats Adriana opening the Parisian Nights segment. Taylor Swift talking during that segment was awful, really messed up the models' tempo and her walking on the runway as if she was an angel was excessive. Shipwrecked: before watching the show, that was one of my favorite segments in terms of outfits. Now that I've seen the show I thought that was one of the more boring segments, the slow-mo really didn't help and all of the outfits start to blend together in this yellow/beige/blue-ish mesh of boredom. The fact that the models were pretty much doing the same poses/playing with the fabric didn't help either. Parisian Nights: Adriana definitely shines there!! Love seeing her wings and outfit from the back, and then she turns and its BAM! Less excessive in terms of pointing and acting silly. Also loved Doutzen, Lais, and Kelly during this segment. Cara looked like she didn't know what to do at the end of the runway... The lingerie was nice, but VS needs to stop with the silly hats, and the silly gloves too. Cara looked like she was about to do some serious scrubbing and Barbara's outfit would have been better without the Eiffel Tower hat IMO. Birds of Paradise: The music works really nice in this segment, and I like how Fall Out Boy wasn't all over the runway, ogling or getting in the models way. Loved Lais' opening walk, but her outfit was one of my least favorite in that segment. The sleeve/wing thing was just a tad too bizarre. My favorite looks were probably Erin and Ale's. Speaking of Erin, she looked did not look like she wanted to be there... Loved Maria Borges in that segment, her walk and her that lingerie on her dark skin looked perfect! PINK: Don't know if the editing of this segment was worse than the Shipwrecked segment. I hated how jumpy it was, performers-model-performers... We barely got to see the girls' walks. The outfits were so awful, but I think Elsa and Sara managed to stand out. Valentino stole the show though. Whatever happened to the pink dog? Snow Angels: Behati was a great opener, and yes, I was sick of the third shot of Adam (it's even worse because just two shows ago he was all over Anne V). I loved most of the outfits during this segment but I didn't like Karlie's - it looked too different from the other ones and I don't think that really suited her 6'1" body. Also Magda, what are you doing up front during the finale (you're not an angel ) Featurettes: opening credits - including Elsa seemed so random, especially since she only got one outfit during the show. VS gets a chance to show how little they care about diversity; the angels' first show - has been done too many times; the shipwrecked one: thought it was pretty cute, with the girls paired up; the Barbara segment - really random, wondered why they chose to include her; the Lais segment - was a little too dramatic, but I teared up when I saw Lais crying (TOO CUTE!), also Behati's BSing was so lame with her saying that she felt bad and cut to her opening with Lais' outfit all happy and stuff; the Adriana segment - pure kickass-ness, loved seeing Adriana box. Also, how cool is it that her boxing instructor has a BAMF eye-patch? the Cara segment - didn't really care much for it, it was like two minutes worth of showing how goofy Cara is (we get it!) the holiday commercial behind the scenes - I really liked this feature, but I feel like it's partly because it showed Paris a lot more than the holiday commercial did Favorite models: Adriana, Doutzen, Lais, Elsa, Sui He, Maria, Sara, Lily D, Constance, Magda, Karlie (judge me but I love her walk) Casting comments: I am glad they finally stopped casting Anja and Liu Wen (who I thought of as the Asian version of Anja). Their facial features are just too rough and their bodies have so little sex appeal - IMO much more well suited for high fashion than VS. Wished they used less fillers and I definitely missed Shanina Shaik!! Other comments: I hated the editing I watched the trends of the VSFS features that were posted on the other thread and I enjoyed actually seeing the girls walk!! I felt really bad for Alessandra, she didn't get to open/close any segments and she was almost forgotten about in the finale. I think it's time for her to hang up her angel wings, but I can't imagine VS' angel line-up without her. One more thought: TOO MANY CORSETS. Some of the girls with the best bodies got covered up. WHY?

I don't know if VS will sign her, but I do hope they bring some diversity to their angel cast... I wish VS "groomed" girls to become angels more. I feel like they signed Karlie up so quickly because she's already famous (or at least more famous than other current models) and they are probably doing the same with Cara. I think it's pretty clear that that's not the FB. When the guy holds it looks a lot more flexible than the FB. Also, I think Adriana fans and Candice fans care about this way more than Adriana and Candice.

I also only speculate that the contracts are 3 years, but I'm not sure who has the actual answer to that. It's also strange that Behati signed her contract before any of the new angels, even while she was still a pink girl, but she was the last to be heavily used in campaigns (now she's becoming quite prominent in the brand, possibly due to her tie with Adam). Lindsay seems like the poor man's Erin to me, she's filling Erin's place in the VSX campaign, was always used in small campaigns for bras that never lasted (exception being the gorgeous campaign) and they don't use her very often on the press day's like they always did Erin, Lily, and Candice. It will definitely be interesting to see what happens with her next year. I believe I read somewhere that Adriana's contract is 5 years, rather than 3, but she and Ale have been with the company for such a long time and it shows, but the recognition those two have is priceless. With regards to Rosie, my friend who works for VS said that the PR team and Marketing team were not happy with her after she left and it was not on good terms, perhaps she broke her contract since she left so early? She also started her own lingerie line to compete with VS, but I don't know how well it's actually doing. And with regards to Chanel, I attended the '11 after party and the only girl there she was friends with was Karlie, who wasn't even an angel at the time. Otherwise she spent the entire night following Kanye and his posse around, and then ended the night crying in the lobby while Karlie consoled her (it was really bizarre but she clearly didn't click with her colleagues). Miranda also spent the entire night by herself with Orlando in a corner, Candice spent the whole night surrounded and getting bombarded by industry professional's, and all the rest of the girls were hanging out (Lily Donaldson and Izabel Goulart seemed especially close with the angels).

I wonder if Chanel and VS parted ways in bad terms because her VS All Access link was removed almost immediately, while other girls who are not on the contract anymore like Miranda and Erin are still there. Rosie's page also remained online for quite a while...

I used to love Chanel. I thought she was really girly and a great spokesmodel for PINK. But then I saw some of her interviews and I got the impression that she was a little "too much." Like she always tried to market herself...
