New York Times, 26th October 2008 A night out with Lukas Haas “I JUST like sitting and watching people,” said Lukas Haas, the 32-year-old actor and musician who still bears a striking resemblance to the little Amish boy he played in the 1985 film “Witness.” It was a Friday night at Hennessey’s Tavern, an Irish-style bar, and Mr. Haas, who had just performed a short set at a nearby blues club, was sitting back, sipping a Coke. “I love seeing people having fun,” he said. “Everyone over in L.A. is too cool for it. That’s the problem.” No doubt, many people would think that Mr. Haas, who pals around with actors like Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire, is too cool for casual people-watching. But his low-key manner and friendly smile quickly put that assumption to rest. Though Mr. Haas hasn’t given up acting (he recently had a cameo on “Entourage” as a backwoods screenwriter, and made a memorable appearance in the indie film “Brick” as a drug kingpin), his current passion is music. In the last year or so, Mr. Haas has been trying to make it as a solo musician. His tuneful and earnest first EP, which is part Jack Johnson, part Elliot Smith, is now available on iTunes, and a full album will follow this spring. His entourage this evening included his 24-year-old twin brothers, who live together in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles: Niki, a master stone carver, and Simon, an expressionist oil painter. “We’re all very right-brained,” said Niki, who sometimes fills in as his older brother’s bass guitarist. The three were dressed nearly identically, in black leather jackets, skinny jeans and distressed vintage T-shirts. “When we walk down the street, people stop us and say, ‘Are you guys in a band?’ And we’re like, ‘Yeah we are,’ ” Lukas said. Indeed, the three sometimes jam with their friend, the actor Vincent Gallo. On stage, Simon occasionally dresses in drag. Considering their indie rocker get-ups and the fratty crowd that sustains a typical Friday night in Hermosa Beach, the three brothers looked out of place when they landed here at Hennessey’s Tavern. A man playing drums and guitar at the entrance sang Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline,” a favorite of the frat-boy set. Inebriated dancing 20-somethings in flannel shirts “bah-bah-bahhed” along. When spinach dip and Irish nachos (the bar’s name for potato skins) arrived, Niki and Simon reached for them immediately, though they insisted they typically stay away from such indulgences. “I always tell them to live a little,” Lukas said. “I don’t know where they got these rules. But when they’re with me, they have to break them.” Simon and Niki dived into the spinach dip. The one-man band played “Lean on Me,” and Lukas sang along. Plates clean and seltzer refills finished, Simon and Niki left to pick up Niki’s girlfriend in Hollywood. Lukas grabbed a few EPs out of his silver Volkswagen Passat to give to a few friends back at the club where he had performed earlier in the evening. “I’m not the best self-promoter,” he said as he launched into a discussion on how hard it has been to make the transition to a new career. “It’s a lot of commitment and fear and all kinds of emotion and coordination and practice and playing in shows where no one’s there.” He paused and added: “There’s no other reason except that I want to do it. I have to do it.” The reason I put up this article was, I found it to be a interesting read. I never imagined he'd be a observator rather than participator. I guess that's how he stays low key That is definately Nikolai, clear as day Nikolai and Simon They are so cute and yes, Lukas does look like his dad.

Thank you for the behind the scenes pics from Meth Head. I wasn't suprised to see him using his phone in the first pic, I mean, who can actually sit there and do nothing? The second scene, looks terrifying still gorgeous though Emily put a photo on her facebook for Father's Day but I don't know if it is Lukas. It looks like Lukas when you do comparison with the other picture I uploaded, but I am unsure Do you think it's Lukas? This is from when he was 5 years old.

Ashton as Steve jobs on the set of Jobs The similarity definately is there Steve Jobs Biopic Starring Ashton Kutcher To Cannes: Inferno To Make Offshore Deals EXCLUSIVE: JOBS, the film that will star Ashton Kutcher as Apple genius Steve Jobs, will be sold at the Cannes Film Festival by Inferno. The film will be directed by Joshua Michael Stern based on a Matt Whiteley script. Production is slated to begin later this year. Five Star Institute’s Mark Hulme is financing and will produce a film that covers Jobs’ life from his twenties to mid-thirties. CAA will be selling domestic distribution rights on the picture and packaged the project.

Thank you for the awesome pics. Got to admit, Ashton does look like Steve Jobs (like alot) I agree, he wears the 70's look so perfectly. Considering he was born in the late 70's. I searched PSC but the results are in german, so I assume there's nothing important to read. It states about Elijah Wood and Paul Walker.

I know. There is alot of resemblance between them both. Andreas looks like his brother Berthold (Lukas' dad) I'd say your absolutely right. Looking at the Inception premiere pictures, the long hair and the clothing is the same. Silly me, I didn't even know that! Welcome back Helen I enjoyed Elijah Wood in "LOTR" but I cant say I have seen anything else that stars him in it. Post #169, is the only pic I have been able to find. Lukas has gone into hibernation again, can't have that now Crazy Eyes and Meth Head, will be released soon so hopefully that allows us to have a piece of Lukas and surely, there will be pics? Here is some information from www.deadline.com in regards to Lukas' upcoming movie Pawn Shop Chronicles. Director Wayne Kramer has set Matt Dillon, Brendan Fraser, Elijah Wood, Vincent D’Onofrio, Pell James, Thomas Jane, Lukas Haas, Chi McBride, Ashlee Simpson, Kevin Rankin, DJ Qualls, Michael Cudlitz and Norman Reedus for Pawn Shop Chronicles. They join Paul Walker, who was set to star and produce. Jordan Schur, CEO and co-chairman of Mimran Schur Pictures, revealed the cast just as shooting gets underway in Baton Rouge, La. Schur is producing with David Mimran, Walker, Nick Thurlow and Steven Schneider. Walker’s Laguna Ridge is also producing, with Matt Luber and Brandon Virtell exec producing. Adam Minarovich wrote the screenplay. Mimran Schur is financing. The film is a dark comedy about a man searching for his abducted wife, a couple of white-supremacist meth heads and a sad sack Elvis impersonator all linked through items sold or found in a small Southern town’s local pawn shop. “This is a superbly written mind-bender of a story that grabs you from the first line, and doesn’t let go,” stated Schur. “We are incredibly fortunate to have found Wayne Kramer to present it, and equally thrilled with the diverse and talented cast assembled.” Got to admit, it has a good variety of actors.
