I was just made aware of the Swim City traveling circus. What the hell, SI? That is a horrible idea. Making the models interact with the creepers who would go to something like that is not cool at all.

So what is the lineup thus far?

Been seeing her Hardee's/Carl's Jr. commercial a lot recently.

She's crafting her persona. Saying that she likes watching female porn videos adds a slight edge to her and makes her more desirable to her male fanbase because now they can envision her in lesbian encounters in their fantasies. It is all marketing.

I may change my mind on Jac. She may be just bosomy enough. Certainly a different style of model than what they typically go for, but after seeing Bregje and Marloes this year, perhaps they would select Jac.

Both of them would fit fine IMO. In fact, it would be a travesty if Sam Gradoville doesn't get selected.

Yeah yeah, it's the day of the 2014 issue's release, but I'm already thinking of what to do with the lineup for next year. A lot will depend on if this expanded roster they have introduced this year with the large number of rookies is permanent or if they'll drop it back to the to the previous size. I'm guessing that they'll keep the roster relatively large. So what to do with who they have now? Well, let's take divide up the veterans and see what we have. Guaranteed back: Kate Upton Genevieve Morton Hannah Davis Nina Agdal Chrissy Teigen (Ugh.) Longtime veterans who could leave: Anne V Jessica Gomes Irina Shayk Ariel Meredith Less experienced veterans who could get removed: Emily DiDonato Kate Bock Natasha Barnard After losing Cintia Dicker and Julie Henderson, I expect that we'll see at least one the longtime vets leave. Probably either Irina or Anne if I were to wager a guess. That may be enough, but I'm kinda anticipating Natasha or Kate Bock getting the axe too. Emily DiDonato is likely safe as fashionistas love her and she did a fantastic job this year. So that leaves either two or three veterans gone. Now that we have the veterans sorted, let's take a look at this massive crop of rookies. Overall, I think they did very well with the rookies this year. I analyzed them in a post in the 2014 thread which you should read first: http://www.bellazon.com/main/topic/47095-2014-si-swimsuit/?p=3364634 Now let's group them up like we did the vets: Guaranteed back: Sara Sampaio Emily Ratajkowski Lily Aldridge Hannah Ferguson Gigi Hadid (She's young and is the spawn of a celeb. She'll be back. she'll probably be a mainstay for years, in fact.) Could return: Bregje Heinen Chanel Iman Marloes Horst Not returning: Lauren Mellor Cris Urena Valerie van der Graaf Samantha Hoopes If I were to wager a guess, I'd say that half of the rookies will be back, with Marloes being the most likely of the three on the bubble to make it back. Now on to the hard part; rookies. I doubt that the number of rookies will be as big as this year. I'm guessing only four or five rookies next year. I've already compiled a small list of possibles: Samantha Gradoville: This is such a no-brainer. She has the "All-American girl-next-door" looks that SI loves on top of high fashion credibility, similar to Emily DiDonato. Could be a fine replacement for Emily if SI is stupid and does not bring her back. Alexina Graham: Now that Cintia is gone, SI is going to have to find another ginger, and I think Alexina is a perfect fit. Again, she has the girl-next-door look and is rather bosomy. A perfect fit. Hailey Clauson: The Valerie van der Graaf experiment did not work out, but they have a second shot at it with Hailey. She has blonde hair and similar features, but she is not as baby-faced. Of course, she comes with baggage, but her look is a good fit. Dioni Tabbers: Yeah, I know everyone suggests her every year to no avail, but I'm gonna do it again. Everyone says her features are too sharp and high fashiony, but if SI will use Bregje Heinen, who has far sharper fatures IMO, they'll use Dioni too. I don't need to explain why she's a good fit. You all know already. Nobody commercial-looking American model: SI always plucks some American girl out of obscurity every year, and 2015 will be no exception. I have no suggestions really because these girls typically are massive unknowns, however, I'd guess that this time, the model will be black or perhaps Asian to add some diversity, especially if Ariel leaves or Chanel is not retained. So there you have it. A balanced lineup of 20-22 models with an engaging class of rookies. Of course, this is as early a prediction as one can make, but it makes sense. It'll be interesting to come back a year from now to see if I got any of it right.

Kate has giant boobs, Emily showed everyone her boobs in the Blurred Lines video, Sara is very striking, and Lily is married to a sorta famous guy.

Yeah. Dunno why I said that. Okay, how about Lily? I know little about her, but she's older and I would hope that someone who has a kid would be a bit more of a grown up.

Why didn't they get someone who is a bit more mature to do the media circuit? Like Genevieve, or Anne V, or Jess Gomes.

You've obviously never seen an actual fat woman before. And I defend her as someone who is decidedly NOT a fan of her. There are legit reasons to dislike her, but I don't think you can call her outright fat.

I'll review the rookies. I may come back to the veterans later, but they are of less importance to me. Chanel Iman: I don't hate her! She has a nice smile and she benefits a lot from the nice location. Not incredibly remarkable, but a sold enough addition. Grade: B Gigi Hadid: The general reaction here to her seems to be a universal "meh," but I like her quite a bit more than that. I can understand some of the lukewarm reaction though. Her expressions, while not bad, need a bit more variation, but that will get better with practice. (I'll admit that I may be a bit biased in her favor because I think she's gorgeous.) I especially liked her pictures with Sara. They have good chemistry together. Grade: B+ Lily Aldridge: To be honest, I've never really given a damn about her. Still, in any case, she is excellent model and does a fantastic job here. I just personally don't care. Grade: A Bregje Heinen: If you have some familiarity with Bregje at all, I think you knew something of what to expect here, and you sure get it. Really intense eyes and some fantastic posing. Like I said earlier, I think she is trying to murder us all with her ULTRA DEATH GAZE OF DEATH, and while that is a totally fine look, she really should have smiled at least once or twice methinks. Still, a very nicely done shoot. Grade: A Marloes Horst: Bregje can learn something from Marloes here. She has a great balance of sultry and intense alongside cute and smiley. Really nicely done. Grade: A Sara Sampaio: This is gonna make her a star. She absolutely nails all of these pictures. Again, really like the duo of her and Gigi a lot. The pictures of the two of them together are probably my favorites of this year's issue.They ought to revisit that next year. Or maybe not because Sara should get the cover next year. Grade: A+. Rookie of the Year no doubt about it. Valerie van der Graaf: This was an iffy casting to begin with. I like Valerie okay, but she is EXTREMELY baby-faced. She is quite hit or miss IMO, and in this case, unfortunately, it was mostly misses. I'm not sure if it is ill-advised Photoshopping, the lighting, or something else, but these pictures don't work. She honestly looks a little creepy in some of them. I think she would have greatly benefited from different location with less stark lighting and perhaps a more silly and playful tone to her shoot, like in Sara and Gigi's. As is though, it just does not work. Grade: D Emily Ratajkowski: What the hell happened here? Why is her skin such a weird color? In a few of the pictures, she looks great, but otherwise, the makeup people and photographer botched this one big time. She looks better in the body paint photos, but overall, this is kinda of a mess not of her making. Btw, I got a chuckle out of the body paint image that is just a close up of her ass. Nothing else, just ass. Grade: C Cris Urena: She's a very pretty girl, but could she at least try to look like she gives a damn? There is lacking variation in expression due to either inexperience or DEATH GAZE OF DEATH like Gigi and Bregje, but this is lack of variation of expression because of apathy. She does not look like she cares at all, and that is disappointing. Grade: C- Samantha Hoopes: Um... I'll try not to be too hard on her, but this is kind of a disaster. I get why they cast her. She's an attempt to get another Marissa Miller, and I'll admit that her body is nice, but... well... Butterface. I'm sorry. She looks far older than she is and her lower jaw/mouth is odd. Her single mouth slightly hanging open expression doesn't help either. I feel bad about this, but... Grade: F Hannah Ferguson: Pretty obvious Julie Henderson replacement, but she is much more an upgrade than a replacement. Fantastic body, adorable smile, and piercing eyes. Oh, and that is probably the best body paint they've ever done. SI likes to bring in the commercial looking American girl next door type models and they are typically pretty hit or miss. Well, this time they have got a keeper for sure! Hopefully she'll stay around as long as Julie Henderson did. Grade: A Lauren Mellor: They already have one Natasha Barnard. They don't need another one. Not that Lauren is unattractive or anything. She's lovely, but not very interesting. Grade: C+ Overall, this is a pretty excellent rookie class. I'd say they have a success rate exceeding 50% for rookies this year. Very well done.

Sara Sampaio is Rookie of the Year without any doubt, yes?

That's the first time I've ever heard Bregje talk. Her voice matches her look exactly.
