Hi all, The SBIFF tributes are usually a part of awards campaigning and the festival director, Roger Durling, picks names who are expected to feature in the nominations, and his selections are almost considered predictions. This year, with the nominations coming in so early, he "missed" with two names -- Leo and Ben Affleck. But since Affleck has been nominated for Best Picture, it wasn't that bad for him. In Leo's case, it makes sense that he would step back so someone else from the film could benefit from the exposure and promotion such an event provides. When I checked a couple of days ago, Leo's and Affleck's tributes were the two events that were sold out, so I wonder what will happen to those tickets, as the date for the event has also changed.

Hi all, thank you for the recent photos. I also agree that if anything Gatsby related was needed during this Australia trip, it would only be for dialogue recording and not for actual reshoots. And what great news about Django's box office. Came so close to being another No.1 movie for Leo. SicK As mY SecReTs, thank you for the Sam Jackson-Letterman clip. I'm a fan of Letterman's and I've always thought that when it comes to commenting on Leo, he's just ribbing him, with no mean intentions behind it. He used to do that with Tobey Maguire, until Maguire finally went on the show and they patched things up. But this is the first time I've seen Letterman go beyond a simple tease and actually make faces when Leo is discussed. I wish you all a lovely NYEve and Happy New Year

I'm pretty sure that's him in the middle . It may be the really dark hair that's tripping you up? I think he's looking good in all this recent stuff but, personally, I think he looks hotter with lighter hair (see tag heuer photos to make my point).

The goldderby article, as oxford and others said, is about the lead actor race, not the supporting one where Leo is expected to compete. So, if anything, this is good news for Leo as there will be less competition in his category. Just thought it needed to be cleared up, because I saw sad emoticons accompanying several posters' comments And thank you for all the recent news stories and photos.

Beyond the worthlessness of this "article", it is regrettable that it is posted on the Sundance channel website, a site associated with Robert Redford's festival and institute. Redford has wanted to work with Leo for a number of years.

calibi, thanks for tweet about Gatsby screening. I think they might be doing this to get a full reaction from an audience, before deciding which parts need reshooting.

The article is more or less what we know so far. The basic introduction from the set visit, plus three interviews with Foxx, Waltz and Tarantino. The only mention of Leo that I recall, was when Tarantino was asked whether he wrote the part in Inglourious Basterds for Leo. He said "No, that's a myth". He also said that Leo gives an incredibly fierce performance in DU. That when he wrote the character of Candie he was imagining an older person, and hadn't written the part for Leo. But Leo read the script, loved the character and asked Tarantino to meet. Tarantino then realized that Leo could bring to Candie something of a perverse Louis XIV. There are no other new photos of the rest of the cast either.

Hi all, The Django Unchained panel at the Comic Con this Saturday will feature Tarantino, Foxx, Waltz, Washington, Goggins and Johnson. So, unless they keep him as a surprise, Leo is not scheduled to be there. Later that day, some or all of the above will have a "meet and geet" with fans at an "old west town" booth.
