The 2007 Sport Illustrated Swimsuit discussion

Also I'd like to say that I think this whole "music issue" thing is BS. I think they just did that so they could have an excuse to put Beyonce's over-exposed ass on the cover. An in response to whoever said models are just models because they are pretty is not true. Some models are models because they're unique looking ro just good models; Kate Moss, Gemma, Sasha, Lily C. Not to say all of those girls are ugly. -

First of all Adriana has small boobs and a wide waist so she's not exactly curvy. Second of all Marissa Miller's body is WAAAAAAAAAAY sexier than Beyonce's. Not just to me but to many boys/men I know. As for Beyonce I don't think she's fat but I called her a cow because of her huge thighs and ass that she's totally proud of and the only reason she's popular also because some people have horrid tastes in music and can't realize that the only thing she can do is howl rather than sing. Like J.lo to me is sexy curvy. Beyonce is just too much. She has those huge thick thighs that she throws around all over the place like she's a freakin goddess and she's always talking about how womanly her body is and how sexy her body is blah blah blah. When in fact the average young girl (17-25) is probably slimmer like Bar than she is like Beyonce. But like Beyonce's shots were so horrible (I know you said this aswell) and like she didn't even have to work for it, they just garaunteed her the cover. They should've let Petra back in, she was the best SI model. Better than Ana and Marissa imo. Even though marissa' body was better. Petra was just born for SI. That's her thing. As was Marissa. Beyonce's cover sucked, it was even worse than last year's cover. -

I'm tired of this idea that mutli-millionaires are being 'robbed' by not getting on the cover of a mag. I don't understand. I just don't get it. SI picked a woman that many people find attractive to be on the cover. They're giving the subscribers what they want. They put attractive women in the issue. That's why they pick models. It's never going to be anything but superficial. True, they generally pick women with a 'classier' look than, say, the breast-implanted butterfaces from Stuff or all those mags. That's because that's what people who get the issue want. Why do they have an obligation to give it to a multi-millionaire model over a multi-millionaire singer? Because they traditionally put models in there? Big deal. This was never about 'hard work.' It's about attractive women in skimpy clothes. If it were about who worked the hardest they would have had an obligation to give it to Mother Theresa in the 90s. Some of us may not think Beyonce is that pretty . But anyway models have to work hard too. Granted they are probably way overpaid but still. it's hard being a model you have so much competition. Beyonce's career is pretty much set. a lot of these models needed that cover to help them out in their career. -

I agree with everyone who agreed with me. -
A lot of people are forgetting that a lot of these "no make-up pics" are of celebrities on their WORST possible days caught in horrible poses like yawning or with a look of disgust on their face and with messed up hair and clothes. A lot of the celebs that were posted I've seen better pics w/o makeup like Halle Berry.

I agree about the Beyonce part, but not the Jennifer Hudson part. I'm sorry. I actually like Jennifer Hudson I just thought her cover was really bad.

Why should the average guy care about the status of the supermodel? Because that's who the SE is aimed at, the average guy with an interest in sports. Ask guys on my football team if they're more attracted to a clothes hanger like Gemma Ward or to Beyonce. I'll be the first to say Beyonce's music is bland, manufactured drivel. So what? She's only famous because people like her face and her big ass. So what? She's in the SE because of her face and her big ass. Why? Because people like it. The people at SI aren't going to stack the issue with the emaciated models that seem to get all the love on this site because they won't sell anything like that. They feature women that guys are attracted to. It's never been about 'deserving.' I agree but SI has always been popular so they don't necessarily need Beyonce. That's what like Maxim and Blender are for. And we're not talking about Gemma Ward here we're talking curvier, sexier models. -

Millions of people disagree but millions of people agree aswell. And yes they did do better at posing in the swim suits. The supermodel is dying now all we have is overrated actress/singers everywhere. -

I'm actually not as mad as I am disappointed. I wanted maybe Ana to get the cover. I mean she gets like no exposure. No one here even knows who she is. Beyonce in no way deserves it. What do you mean, deserves it? She's a woman that many, many, many men find beautiful. What's the SE about other than being able to look at gorgeous girls in swimsuits? There's no 'deserves' here. It's not as if they're looking to award someone for their hard work by putting them on the cover. If it was about being 'deserving' for how hard someone works, I know plenty of everyday people that deserve it more than a millionaire Brazilian. Ana is very pretty. They gave it to another pretty girl instead. Whoopee. Yeah but she's not a model and this means like nothing to her. I personally don't think she's talented at all so I don't think she deserves a lot of things and just seeing her on this cover made me mad because first of all she's not a modle/athlete, second of all her body is horrid for swimsuits, 3rd of all she always looks so cheesy and fake in her pictures, and 4th of all she was like garaunteed the cover before she even shot probably. When the other girls did a much better job. Imo yes Beyonce works hard but she's not talented nor do I think her face is pretty, she looks so plastic to me yet she gets millions of dollars just because she has a big ass and she shakes it all over the place. My mom went to a university and when she moved to America she had to work night shifts just because she doesn't speak english well and can't teach here. She works harder than Beyonce yet she isn't a millionaire nor does she get SI. covers. So the point of the cover is not rewarding hard work. Beyonce didn't go to school and she can't sing or act and she gets millions of dollars yet my mom and other people I know had to live through bad childhoods, work their way through college/university, and then are forced to work for low wages. It's sad really. Also Beyonce is really undeserving of everything she gets and imo she is just extremely lucky and priveledged and that annoys me. -

The annoying thing is that for models is such an honor and for beyonce it's like nothing. When they signed her to do it they probably like gauranteed her the cover instead of choosing by quality. It's a shame they're going just to sell more copies. You'd think they'd have some dignity. -

I hate how people refer to beyonce as the only real woman. Seriously women come in all shapes and forms. Btw yes Bar's body is wow. She has a better body than Gisele imo aside from her legs. No one's legs are better than Gisele's so far that I've seen. -

yeh they should have models that are nice, toned and athletic...oh wait i just described anabb It doesn't even have to be Ana, you know ? But a MODEL, yes. TOTALLY AGREED! thanks . Actually I'm pretty over it. I was just a bit shocked. This is a bit silly. Anyway atleast if people buy the magazine all of our favorite models will get more exposure. -
They are best friends.

But also I'd like to point out that for some of a Beyonce body is quite unachievable. Like for me a body like those slim models is much more achievable because I'm just not that body type. -

Yeah that's true. I think they just did it for the publicity. My brother and I bet on who was going to be on the cover Marissa or ana and we both lost. -

I'm sure plenty of guys (like my brother and his friends) will not be happy. This is SI and Beyonce has nothing to do with SI. She doesn't have an athletic body she's a freaking singer. Give her Rolling Stone but not this. -

I'm not racist. I actually REALLY liked Tyra Bank's cover. As for more realistic? Not all women are freakin curvy like that. My body is probably closer to being slim like most of the models than to beyonce's. Everyone has different taste. But like why isn't she on Maxim or some other magazine. This is SISE and it's meant for models and athletes, not overrated celebs. -

I am. She looks like a tank. She has gross thick thighs and her pictures weren't even good. She's not an athlete or a model and this probably doesn't even mean much to her. Bar's shoot and Marissa's shoot (the only ones I have really seen so far) aswell as Selita's were WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY hotter than this. Not only that but Beyonce is so overrated anyway. She can't sing and when she dances she looks like she's having a seizure. It just made me so mad because it's like models are gone. I mean when was the last time you saw a model on US Vogue? They let Jennifer Hudson looking like crap be on the cover and like she's a reality tv reject. Seriously it's horrible. It just makes me so mad. They're probably going to let actresses and dingers and other overrated celebrities be in VSFS soon. Like it wouldn't even surprise me. -
WOW she is so hot!!!!!!!!!! Way hotter than Beyonce's pics. UGH I'm so mad!!!!!!!!!
-
Her body def. deserved the cover. Not ugly ass Beyonce with her thick thighs that looks like a tank in bathing suits. Ew. Supermodels are gone. Did you guys see that they let Jennifer Hudson be on US Vogue looking like trash and not supermodels. It's outrageous.
