Pretty sure the guys at Maxim were bummed as much as the next guy when she declared on public television the FX / CGI thing about the photos of that shoot that got her the first place. I guess it changed the ballgame from "had been being photographed naked" to "kinda ruined the idea of her being fucking delicious and awesome looking while naked on a couch for a photoshoot and how can we now promise that the cover shoot we are going to do is real". I believe it's the name of the game not to talk that openly about photoshop ... can you not imagine the sh.tstorm that would happen if she got the cover?
