I totally agree with you, michelabella. Because being a good model has nothing to do with being popular and/or famous. These are completely different things. Talent and potential don't depend on the amount of your followers on Twitter. So I don't know why people keep comparing Adriana's and Alessandra's popularity with Candice's popularity. So maybe she has less fans, but does this make her worse as a model? No, not at all. Additionally (like michelabella said) her career just started two years ago, so she's quite new. You don't become the "ultra model" over night. Adriana und Alessandra had already ten years to get that popular. So those comparisons of popularity are just meaningless and also not very fair. And well, if everybody comes up with their personal experience, so I'll come up with mine now, too. Adriana, Alessandra and Miranda aren't well known here. (However, there isn't even a VS store in Germany.) I just know three people who know who Adriana is. But Ale and Miranda...? Never heard of. E.g. a few weeks ago, there was a poll on a German website that asked which model we like. A bunch of names was listed, including Adri, Ale & Miranda. 300 people took part, but hardly anybody knew them. They are just neither popular nor famous here in Germany. Exactly. Didn't you say that some crucial professionals in this business still don't even know her? (A reason why she will never be that big like Adriana, Ale etc.) Maybe I got you wrong.

Give her a little time. Although she has been modeling for years, her "real" career just began 2 years ago. And since then she has improved really quick and now she does a lot of high fashion work. However, it's way too early to claim that she will never reach the level of a "historic" model. You guys are in a tearing hurry (If one can say that in this context...) But...I wanted to know the names of professionals who are important in the high fashion world. I don't mind "regular day people", because such statements are completely useless since we just know a few people and not the whole world. It's beyond our ken. Additionally, being big in high fashion doesn't necessarily mean that you're famous among "regular day people". It's like with artists. They are huge in the art scene and maybe even one of the greatest people of the century, but they're not known among normal people.

Who don't know her?

Okay, no more talking about target audiences. I tried to make clear how important the target audience is for the company. But this ends in nothing. Do you know VS's annual balance sheets? Maybe they earned more money since Candice has been overexposed? They wouldn't use her that much by arbitrariness. There must be some benefit and I think it's an economic one.

You don't know anything about target audience, do you? Just because there are old women who buy VS stuff doesn't mean that VS targets them. For example, look at their website. It's pink and white. Those are typical colors for a young audience. (Color psychology) Or if you look at their Corporate Communication, you will recognize that they use social networks a lot. They try to get new customers by using Twitter, YouTube and so on. That's another indication for a young audience. Or the image VS is trying to represent. Flirty, funny, active, dreamy... The models are talking about their first kisses or first dates. All these things are not prepared for an audience around 40. They want to attract young women. And well, there are studies (e.g. HOBA experiment) which prove that our purchasing behavior is influenced by the media, advertising, etc. It's a fact.

Well, I've been studying this stuff for years now (I'm talking about communication design and this stuff) and my teachers have always been very satisfied with my analyses, so I could try to find out VS's target group if you want to. I think their target group are young women around their twenties. Men are a just a "accompaniment", however, not intended. If you look a VS's Corporate Identity, it's clear that the target are not men. Do you want a more detailed analysis? With explanations or so? Since an analysis doesn't only consist of the age, of course. There are also psychosocial aspects. EDIT: I hope everything is clear with the word "psychosocial". I know the technical terms in German, but no dictionary translates them.

The target audience is one of the if not the most important thing for a company. Everything - the whole Corporate Identity, the product design, etc. - is determined by it. I ensure you VS makes no move without considering the target group. And actually, if you know how, it's not difficult to find out their target group. You just have to know a bit about media psychology and communication design. Considering real things? You mean economic aspects? And MissNKlovesphotograph, you have a very good point!

I wouldn't claim that all people are tired of seeing Candice that much. Why do you think so? Just because there are people who complain about it doesn't mean everybody is sick of seeing her. Victoria's Secret is a big company and like every big company, it employs a team of specialists which does market researches. So there must be something that gets VS any economic benefit by overexposing Candice. They wouldn't do that if the people were so annoyed by her, because actually the models do influence the purchasing behavior. Additionally, Ale and Adriana are getting old. Of course they are not actually old - but the model business applies other standards. You have to consider the target audience of VS.

I agree with swanepoelcandy. Candice doesn't only have the best potential among the new angels, but great potential as a model in general. I really enjoy her high fashion work. I think it's amazing, because Candice is quite multifaceted. I guess VS also recognized her potential. That's why VS is promoting Candice that much. Don't forget: Candice's success is VS's success, too (in economic terms). And I don't mind those YouTube comments. Obviously, there are more people who like to see Candice that often, otherwise VS wouldn't feature her anymore. But you (cherrybomb) have to admit that it calmed down a little. A year or so ago, VS used to feature her way more often. I guess lovemusic said that Candice will walk at Milan Fashion Week...?
