Red Bull happy with grid positions Red Bull Racing is happy with its qualifying result after Mark Webber and David Coulthard went eighth and ninth fastest and will start seventh and eighth when Hamilton serves his ten place penalty. "I'm pretty happy with that," said Webber. "Of course you always want a little bit more, but it could also have been worse for us, so it's okay. I had Jarno (Trulli) spinning in front of me on my first flying lap in Q3, so it all rested on my final one - but we got there. We've got both cars in the top ten, which is what want we wanted. Let's see what we can do from there tomorrow." "It's been very close with Renault and also our sister team this weekend, both have been looking very quick, but in the end we have both our cars in the top ten," said Coulthard. "I have a reasonable fuel load, so I'm pretty happy with my performance today." Team principal Christian Horner added, "A good recovery after a difficult Friday. Both drivers are much happier with the car today. It was a strong performance from both sides of the garage to qualify for Q3 and, lining up in what will become seventh and eighth tomorrow with Lewis' penalty, we think we're reasonably placed. We're looking forward to tomorrow's race."- Michael Schumacher

Dismal qualifying for Honda Today's qualifying session in Magny Cours turned out to be character-building for the Honda Racing F1 Team. A lack of pace meant that Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello were unable to progress through to Q2 and they will line up in 17th and 18th positions respectively for the start of tomorrow's 70 lap French Grand Prix. "A very disappointing qualifying session today," said Button. "The car was well balanced and we are pretty much getting the maximum performance from it, however unfortunately our pace reflects where we are at this track. My last run was slow as I was called into the weighbridge and then had to wait in the pit box as there was not enough time to go back into the garage before my final run. That meant that my tyres had cooled down which compromised my lap, although I don't think we could have improved enough to go through to Q2 anyway. Hopefully we can be more competitive in race trim but it's disappointing and unexpected as we thought that the car would perform better around this circuit." Barrichello commented, "A pure lack of performance from the car today. The lap times have been very close all weekend but unfortunately we are at the lower end of the grid. We are really pushing the limit of the car to try and achieve more pace but it is evident from how close Jenson and I have been all weekend that there is no more to come from the car. Having achieved a good balance after practice, it's hard to accept the lack of pace, but we just have to try and do our best from here and see what the race will bring." Engineering chief Steve Clark added, "Unfortunately, it is not the case that anything went wrong, as such. We felt that we had made good progress overnight and had effectively addressed the handling issues of yesterday. The cars were well balanced with no obvious problems and the closeness of the two drivers reflects the fact that unfortunately that is the pace of the car. As always, the middle order is extremely competitive and we needed 0.3s to make it through to Q2. However, it doesn't seem that we could have found that time in the car today."- Jenson Button

RINO'S AZZURRI HEART In the Azzurri's training camp, Rino Gattuso, who will not be able to play against Spain on Sunday, spoke during a press conference. - THE WORDS OF GATTUSO - MILAN - Here are the declarations made Milan midfielder and Italian international Rino Gattuso, who spoke in a press conference today at the training camp of the Azzurri ahead of Sunday's match against Spain, to which the Rossonero will not be able to participate because of suspension. (figc.it) ON THE DECLARATIONS OF SPANISH COACH ARAGONES: "I took it as a compliment because I agree with what he said: it's true that I'm a fighter and he praised me for my characteristics. Pirlo is a fundamental player which they don't have. Spain lack a player with those characteristics. Certainly, if I were him I would not become a priest, he already has a certain age, let him enjoy the rest of his life normally." ON THE AZZURRI: "Since we are Italian, we like superstition and we try to do the same things. There's a united group which is working in the same direction, we know that our group makes the difference. Spain are a tough opponent, they look like the Barcelona team which won the Champions League two years ago. I think, however, that Italy don't have anything less than Spain on a technical level. They have a different mentality, if we tried to play 20 passes consecutively they would whistle us." ON DONADONI: "Donadoni is always on the balance because of the clause in his contract: whether he stays or not is our last worry. In football there is not gratitude and we know that we always have to show something. The principal problem is to beat Spain, for the rest we will see. Donadoni? He's a good person, he's able to manage 23 players, which isn't easy. And he knows how to behave with athletes. Also Lippi, who had won everything, had difficult moments. It's normal that it happens to Donadoni, he's a nice person, you can talk with him and small misunderstandings were always resolved through dialogue. Especially, he knows what he wants from his players. I'm a bit angry when I hear that this national team doesn't belong to anyone: those who represent the Federation help us and no one better than us can know it, we have relationships with Abete and all the others." ON CASSANO: "He looks very charged up, on a football level it's not a surprise. He has skills and he's able to do incredible things, the only worry is for his behaviour... but I don't want to bring him bad luck. Also because until now he has behaved very well. The older he gets, the better his behaviour becomes. Against Spain he can help us win. Capello? He did not imitate him, he says he wasn't doing an imitation that time. With us, in any case, he doesn't do any imitations: he just sings, he has a good voice. Could he be a singer? No, better a footballer." ON ADVICE FOR HIS TEAM MATES "It's better to play than staying out, because the tension will be high. Advice? In this type of game it doesn't count much. But I will be on the pitch with my heart."- David Beckham
