Shah Rukh’s dreamz unlimited Actor Shah Rukh Khan wants to build an underground parking lot and a swimming pool behind his Bandra residence. He has applied to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) seeking permission to construct a 20,000-sq-ft underground parking lot and a swimming pool measuring only slightly less, on the ground floor of the six-storey building he has built behind his sea-facing heritage bungalow Mannat at Bandra (West). Civic officials said the proposal has been forwarded to the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority. As Khan’s bungalow and building fall under the Coastal Regulation Zone — an ecologically sensitive area near the sea — permission from the Authority is needed to undertake any construction there. The plan, said civic sources, is related to changes in Khan’s building, which houses the actor’s extra living room, guest room, gym and some offices. Ashok Shintre, chief engineer (Development Plan, BMC), said: “The plan came to us through Khan’s architect and we have sent it for a No-Objection Certificate to the state coastal zone authority as the changes to be made are for a plot under 2 hectares in area (approximately 2 lakh sq ft). If it were more than that, we would have sent it to the Central Authority,” Shintre said. Confirming that the coastal zone authority has received the proposal from the civic body, an official said no decision had been taken. “It will be brought before the Authority in one of its meetings, when such proposals are tabled for clearance,” he added, refusing to divulge when the proposal would be discussed. Chairman of the Authority Shyamlal Goyal was not available for comment. Khan’s building is already entangled in a legal suit following a petition filed by non-governmental organisation Bhrashtachar Nirmulan Sanghatana last year, alleging that it encroached on the proposed road in the city development plan and the balconies jutted out of the plot boundary.

Shah Rukh Khan: My space! Shah Rukh Khan recently bagged one more trophy — his seventh Filmfare award — to add to his impressive collection. However, when we asked him where he was going to place the Black Lady, he wittingly said, “ Masha Allah, ghar bahut bada hai...toh finding a place for it is not going to be tough.” SRK’s Mannat seems to have enough and more room for many more Black Ladies, and SRK isn’t going to fall short of getting them all. And you thought that SRK wasn’t a ladies’ man?

Rani already engaged? IndiaGlitz [Wednesday, March 05, 2008] The media seems to know even the smallest happening in Bollywood with all those related to this vast industry. Lately, we had heard something smoking regarding the Aditya Chopra and Rani Mukherjee affair. Now rumor is running wild that Aditya might have already gifted and engagement ring to the husky-voiced Bollywood beauty after he has applied officially for a divorce from his first wife. The divorce has been filed at the Bandra Court in Mumbai. The Aditya-Rani affair has not been approved by either Aditya's or Rani's parents. Aditya's parents still love and adore their Bahu, Payal, the wife of Aditya Chopra. We have even come across some astrology websites trying to draw future predictions as to whether this Adi-Rani relationship will stand or fall. If rumors making the rounds are to be believed then it seems there was a secret encounter where Aditya gifted an engagement ring to Rani. Though no word has emerged from either family regarding the engagement, all you folks out there watch out for Rani while she emerges in public, to see if she is sporting the tell-tale engagement ring on her ring finger. With anything happening at any moment in the Bollywood circles we never know what will happen next, so till more stories emerge watch out this space for more interesting news!

I'm waiting for my groom for so long "Samsara", meaning world, is a film based on beggars who stay in Laddakh and follow Buddism. The film has been honored with thirty International awards. Pan Nalin, the director of the film, though has mixed reactions; he is happy because the whole world has acknowledged the film, but sad because the universally praised film has very little recognition in India. After two years of its release, Pan is now trying to reach the Indian audience with the DVD version of "Samsara". The gorgeous Sushmita Sen was present during the DVD release of "Samsara". Here is the lady talking about the film, and also on her forthcoming projects. Sushmita Sen feels honored to be a part of the DVD launch function of the film 'Samsara'. An ardent fan of the film, the actress says, "I watched it as soon as it was released two years back. I liked the film very much, and my affection for the film is more because the maker of the film is an Indian." Talking about the standard of Indian films when compared to International ones, Sush opines, "I am really proud that the film (Samsara) was made in India. We must know that every year Indian filmmakers create many films that can easily be compared with International movies from the point of view of either quality or budget. Despite all that, our films are recognized only as musical films in the World cine market. It's a blessing for us to have "Samsara" made in India and we should be proud of Pan as the Indian director is priceless." After Ram Gopal Verma Ki Aag, the talented lanky actress is not seen much in films now. But her fans and viewers are surely awaiting the release of her forthcoming films, 'Jhansi Ki Rani Lakshmibai' and 'Dulha Mil Gaya'. When asked about her film, 'Jhansi Ki Rani Lakshmibai', a tight-lipped Sush has this diplomatic answer to give, "We are here for the film "Samsara" and I would like to talk about films by Pan only. But believe me, when we will meet for my film, I will talk about films by me only". Moving on to her next awaited release, 'Dulha Mil Gaya', Sush cracks a joke, as she says, "Even I am waiting for my groom for long. Well, I am also waiting for "Dulha Mil Gaya" to be complete. It's one of those films which I enjoyed working in. I hope Shahrukh can arrange his date for the film soon so that we can complete the shooting." Talking about Mudassar Aziz, the debutante director of "Dulha Mil Gaya", Sushmita says, "As "Samsara" is Pan's first film, "Dulha Mil Gaya" is the first film by Mudassar Azziz. It's very interesting for me that I worked all the way in my career with first-time directors only. I have never seen such a confident director than Mudassar. He knows well about not only what he has to do, but also what he requires for the script." Before taking leave from Sush, we were forced to ponder over the fact that Pan has approached Aishwariya Rai Bachchan, for the character of Yashodhara for his forthcoming film, "Life of Buddha", but not Sushmita who is an ardent fan of the film maker. What made him choose Ash over Sush? Well, we went to Pan to get the answer to this, but Sushmita who was standing near pan replied saying, "As Pan didn't offer me the role of Yashodhara, I also didn't think about Pan while making "Jhansi Ki Rani". Well, that was a very smart answer coming from a very smart Sushmita Sen! - Rajnee Gupta

Ronaldo will stay, insists Berlusconi MILAN (AFP) - AC Milan owner and Italian politician Silvio Berlusconi insisted Tuesday that former three time world player of the year Ronaldo would stay with the European champions. Ronaldo is currently side-lined with a ruptured knee tendon that is unlikely to see him return to competitive action much before 2009. His contract at Milan expires in June and even the 31-year-old himself has admitted that his whole footballing career, let alone his stay at Milan, could be over. But Berlusconi still wants to see the former Barcelona, Inter Milan and Real Madrid forward plying his trade at the San Siro next season. "I think Ronaldo will stay with us, and if he wants to he can still be a major player," Berlusconi told Sky TV. "He's already suffered this type of injury to his other knee and he knew how to come back. "If he still has the desire, he is very young, he's 31. Here we have an example at our own club (Paolo) Maldini who is 40 (actually 39). "And hence I think and hope he will want to continue and in that case, Milan would be delighted to keep him." Making comparisons between the clean-living Maldini who has had few serious injuries during his career and the overweight Ronaldo who has already missed the best part of 20 months when he suffered the same injury to his other knee back in 1999 seems futile, though. Even if Ronaldo wanted to come back, he will be at least 32 when he returns and will certainly be no fitter or slimmer than he is now - and already he has faced a barrage of criticism over the last couple of years for his inability to last a full match and for his expanding waistline. But only 10 days ago Ronaldo himself gave an interview to Brazilian TV where he admitted the possibility that his career was over. Berlusconi seems more concerned that he cannot field his dream Brazilian attacking trio - with Kaka and Pato - although he has expressed an interest in signing Inter Milan's Adriano, currently on loan in Brazil. His pursuit of Adriano is motivated by his dream of a Brazilian model to rival AC Milan's Swedish triumverate (Gunnar Gren, Nils Lidholm and Gunnar Nordahl) of the 1950s or the Dutch one (Frank Rijkaard, Ruud Gullit and Marco van Basten) of the late 1980s and early 1990s. Berlusconi's other concern is over rumours that coach Carlo Ancelotti will take over the Italy national team after Euro 2008. "I don't know about that. I have to say that selfishly I hope that Ancelotti stays with us," said Berlusconi.

Adebayor Salutes Maldini Arsenal star Emmanuel Adebayor was delighted with the win over Milan last night, and says that he was up against three of the best defenders of the world, including retiring legend Paolo Maldini. Milan’s reign as European Champions came to an end as they were deservedly beaten 2-0 by The Gunners at San Siro. “I was facing three of the best defenders in the world in Alessandro Nesta, Kakha Kaladze and Paolo Maldini,” said Adebayor, who scored Arsenal’s second goal in injury time. “Maldini may be 40, but he has great experience, the ability to play football and he had a good game.” Adebayor scored his first Champions League goal in an Arsenal shirt last night, and he was delighted that it helped take his team through to the quarter-finals. “Of course this feels special, as I have been looking for this goal for a long time,” the Togolese international continued. “I am very happy and pleased with myself, but the most important thing is that Arsenal won and got through. “I think the way we played over the two legs made it difficult for Milan and we had more chances than them to win the game. We had more desire too and in the end won the match.”

AC Milan skipper Maldini: I'm sorry, this hurts tribalfootball.com - March 05, 2008 AC Milan captain Paolo Maldini admits he is hurting after last night's Champions League elimination by Arsenal. Maldini is expected to hang up his boots at the end of the season and said: "We must accept this defeat. Analyzing the two games, we can see they were better than us. We created too few chances to bring home the qualification. "I'm very sorry, it hurts, but we have to accept it." Asked if coach Carlo Ancelotti should remain in charge next season, Maldini added: "I believe so, I do not see why we should change. He has proven to be one of the best coaches in Europe, winning almost everything. "You cannot talk of a farewell, sometimes we must also accept defeat."

Not The Real Milan – Oddo Massimo Oddo has apologised to Rossoneri fans after last night’s defeat to Arsenal, and says that the real Milan did not turn up. Carlo Ancelotti’s men were outplayed for large periods of the match as they lost 2-0 at San Siro and were dumped out of the Champions League at the last 16 stage. "My performance doesn’t mean much, even though it was good. We did not play like Milan,” said Oddo. “We are sorry for the fans and also for us. Arsenal were really good. Now we can understand the merits we had last year, when we were very good and also lucky. In this season we made a few too many mistakes… and today this was the case as well because we were eliminated.” Oddo then went on to stress that Milan must now turn their attention to Serie A and make sure they finish in the top four in order to qualify for next season’s Champions League. The Rossoneri are currently in fifth place, four points behind Fiorentina in the position above them. “Now let’s think about the league, which we need to get back into Europe. The fans will be sorry and we as much as them, but I hope they remain close to us,” he stated. “It can happen to exit a competition, after many years of success, but there is surely the will to return. “At Empoli [this weekend] it will not be easy, also because this defeat will be felt from the psychological level.”

Now Let’s Reach The Fourth Place – Gilardino Milan striker Alberto Gilardino was disappointed that he could not celebrate in a better way the birth of his first daughter, as his team was eliminated from the Champions League following the 2-0 defeat against Arsenal on Tuesday evening. Gilardino was hoping to dedicate a goal to his newborn, but things did not go as planned for the Italian striker. "Personally I had two very intensive days due to the birth of my daughter, Ginevra - two days full of emotions and I’m sorry for this evening because it would have been the perfect completion,” declared the former Parma attacker at the end of the game. “From our side there were all the intentions to reach the next round. We were succeeding and in the second half we tried even more, but then came Fabregas’ goal which stopped us completely,” he continued. “It arrived at the least opportune moment, when we were pushing with Kaka and Pato. "This elimination surely does not cancel all that we have done in the Champions League, and now we shall re-start already from Sunday against Empoli, with twelve league games, just like we told each other in the dressing room, will be for us like twelve finals because we don’t want to miss this competition next year. “There’s a lot of anger, disappointment. Galliani in the dressing room thanked us all especially for all that this group has done in 2007 and even he told us that fundamental games await us for which we must prepare in the best way,” concluded Gilardino.

Kaka: Arsenal were the better team Kaka, the AC Milan midfielder, believes Arsenal deserved their historic Champions League victory in the San Siro on Tuesday night. The Brazilian was gracious in defeat after Arsene Wenger's team scored twice in the last six minutes to advance to the quarter-finals. Kaka, who recently signed a two-year contract extension to his deal with Milan, conceded the Rossoneri had lost to the better team. "Arsenal played really well, better than us," he said. "We have struggled up front and we have not been good enough to get a better result. To have gone out of the competition like this is a tough blow. I guess the next few days will be difficult because the Champions League was our main aim. "Now our aim is to finish fourth in the Serie A standings in order to qualify for the Champions League next season. We must bounce back together in order to overcome this." The defeat is a bitter pill to swallow for Milan, as they are already out of the race for the Scudetto. City rivals Inter are 18 points clear of the Rossoneri with just 12 games remaining. However, Adriano Galliani, the club's vice-president, was also optimistic in defeat. He said: "Arsenal played better in both legs and deserved to go through. They have good midfielders and a great striker in (Emmanuel) Adebayor and we had many players injured or not completely fit. Now we have to aim towards returning to the Champions League but we have won two cups this year and we are the most successful team in the world. "This is the group we have, this is the coach we have and nothing changes. Berlusconi told us in the changing rooms that you cannot win every time. He is right. We have been unlucky to have met Arsenal in the last 16. This is not the end of an era and nothing has finished. This summer we will change certain players but right now we will think about Serie A. There is no drama."

LET’S GET BACK UP “This team has a great experience and will surely find the strength to get back up and reach the fourth place in the league.”- THE DECLARATIONS OF THE ROSSONERI - MILAN – These are the declarations of the Rossoneri at the end of Milan-Arsenal 0-2: ALBERTO GILARDINO: "Personally I had two very intensive days due to the birth of my daughter, Ginevra, two days full of emotions and I’m sorry for this evening because it would have been the perfect completion. There’s a lot of anger, disappointment. Galliani in the dressing room thanks us all especially for all that this group has done in 2007 and even he told us that fundamental games await us which we must prepare in the best way.” CLARENCE SEEDORF: “Tonight Milan gave everything, I saw my team-mates play very well and we also held the pitch. We were hoping to hit them towards the end just like they did to us. Surely this is a great disappointment, but now we must be good enough to recover the strengths for a final effort and finish in fourth place in the league. I did not see that they put us too much in difficulty. Milan started out strong and we were forced to face Arsenal in a moment in which we were not too brilliant. I wish them the best and let’s hope that they can win the competition. In the dressing room Galliani used encouragement words both for the team and the coach and we must be very objective because a defeat can happen and not for nothing Arsenal are first in their league. Milan gave everything, more than that we could not do. Now twelve very important games await us for the fourth place.” KAKHA KALADZE: “We have lost against a great team, Arsenal played a great game both here at San Siro and in London. They deserved to go through. Unfortunately you cannot always win, now we must work a lot. Adebayor has proven to be a great player who managed to hold the team ahead. They are placed well on the pitch. Milan must now think to arrive in fourth place, we have more days to rest and remain calm to prepare better the league games and find the right path for the fourth place. We had a marvellous 2007, we have won everything.” KAKA': “For me it was the first time that I exited the Champions League at San Siro. However these are important moments which help you to grow and I must also thank the fans who were close to use until the end. Arsenal deserved this qualification, they played very well and they were more dangerous than us. This team has a great experience and will surely find the strength to get back up and win the fourth place in the league.” ODDO: "My performance doesn’t mean much, even though it was good. We did not play like Milan. We are sorry for the fans and also for us. Arsenal were really good. Now we can understand the merits we had last year, when we were very good and also lucky.
