something funny and completely unrelated to anything, but so odd that I gotta share. Apparently Nicolas Cage and Holly Hunter are on the cover of Serbian biology text book for 8th grade. It’s a still from “Raising Arizona”, and it’s supposed to represent a happy family, because it’s probably what kids learn about at the time. Little did the graphic designer knew that in the movie, it’s not really a happy family. Since a lot of people were interested in how Nicolas Cage and Holly Hunter ended up on the cover, I asked and got the explanation from the graphic designer of the book. She says it was an honest mistake, and I believe her. She also says that they pulled the book from the print as soon as they found out about it, but some books were already printed and delivered, and that was it. read more ; source

Jennifer Starr, who has cast the Pirelli calendar for 16 years, talks about shooting nude portraits of the world's most beautiful women,doing jail time with Daria Werbowy, mud wrestling with Terry Richardson and Kate Moss's nerves at disrobing... She gave an interview to US Harper's Bazaar , detailing the time Daria Werbowy left her passport behind in Johannesburg en route to Botswana and was then jailed for a day."The customs agent said that she could not enter," says Starr. "Quite the predicament as I wasn't going to allow Daria to go to jail in Botswana alone. So, we were placed in 'jail', which was really a holding room in the airport. There is no better way to get to know somebody than to spend a day in jail with them." ... HB: The locations are always really amazing, what are your top picks? JS: Botswana! And this year at Murtoli in Corsica with Mario Sorrenti was truly magical. I think the locations where we become a family for a short period of time, are always the best. I am a nature lover, so being immersed in it with very little technology is my preference — it can make it difficult sometimes to get a job done but their are beautiful moments had. There have been many funny moments, too. Probably my favorite story is when Daria Werbowy and I were flying from Johannesburg to Botswana on this tiny two-seater jumper plane. There was insane turbulence and I was so air sick. As we approached customs she said 'you are going to kill me.' She had left her passport in Johannesburg in the pharmacy at the airport. HB: How does casting for this calendar differ from the more standard high fashion jobs you do, like booking shows? JS: In Peter's [beard] calendar, Malgosia [bella] and Mariacarla [boscono] had to mud wrestle while two elephants two feet away kicked the mud onto them. Lara Stone had to trans-dance with local bushmen. Isabeli [Fontana] was asked to open one eye while the other was covered with a live sisal bug bigger then any NYC cockroach. Daria [Werbowy] had to hold the carcass of a marabou stork twice her size that had been dead for over a week in her hands next to her naked body. It's just a tad different then finding a girl who looks great in the clothes and has a killer walk.
