I think The Beach is quite good movie! good acting and great places! but at this period,somehow critics were trying to show Leo as a bad boy and not very good actor!there were many trashy rumors around him and they wanted to break this hero status,if you remember Woody Allen's Celebrity,everyone said that Leo played his own on the movie.they were trying to break his star status and so on. so I guess The Beach's bad critics also were the part of this bad PR. thanks wijn for news! but I don't believe them
