Yeah,even though she regulary appeared in the US eddition for like 10 years to that point(1996)! But she did have like every other Elle cover though,LoL. Its funny how they choose covers....Cindy had to wait 10 years for hers,Stephanie Seymour 8 years,Kate's never had one along with a few other girls. I guess Elle couldn't affoard many Supers,plus I know there weren't too picky about covergirls b/c they'd put just about anyone on the cover...were Vogue,Bazaar,etc are more selective.

The Shrimp is cool,my favorite model of the 60s. She had one of the sweetest model faces ever. And to me and many experts she is the 1st Supermodel. Too bad she is reclusive and doesn't really seem to be interested in her legacy.

HP,what a suprise! Its really amazing,all the b/s aside I think sometimes some people/haters get so caught up in the drama they don't stop to look. Well the fans,peers & experts know and she just is unmatched in doing that. She's BIONIC ! It aint hard to tell,LoL! I'm so glad there is her in the world,and that I lived during her time,I'm serious as strange as that might sound. She made girls especially minorities proud and still has the same effect on me and many. The naysayers when she started I felt sustained her intensity by saying 'Blackgirls don't get blah,blah' she knew it was going to be tough going in. They/restrictions still make her want to keep going. So unlike the girls who came after they thought it was going to be easy and its not so they gave up,got pushed out or moved on. She loves her job and most love her or at least respect what she can do cause she's still working well. ***BTW,I know I wanted to talk to the new Naomi fans there but what can you do?! I may comeback to that place but its ridiculous sometimes. I felt I did all that I could when I was there at her thread,at 90s and a few other places so its nice to know people saw that. Also have you stopped by recently,you gotta see it,its a surprise. Tell me what you think after you see it!

I agree,BTW I never found the logic either in constantly going to places to see people you don't like to post your dislike about them,especially when its not even an issue.

And not to mention both British,I think the UK must be proud cause they got so many model legends. Naomi has always defended Kate,even when she first started out and everyone was all up in arms and hating her cause she looked a 'certain' way. She would be like 'hey leave her alone',which is nice...if she's your friend she's gonna back you.

Thats your issue,LoL. I don't know what to tell you since they're going to be around,other than to concentrate on more positive things and move on. But tell me something,you stop by alot,if I don't like a model I don't drop by her thread,let alone post things.

I have to say Naomi is a legend,groundbreaker,Queen of the catwalk, and has been called an icon since the mid-90s long before most of these girls got hot/started and IMO and to many she is above these girls. She's beautiful but in the history of blackbeauty(although she is the most covered black star ever)as a fan I can honestly say I've seen better looking...not many though,LoL but 'its simply her drive,her work' as Mario Testino said thats makes her special and unique! But its nice to her people say they think she is the best looking,thanks Alisa. I don't hear or see the others like Naomi when people in the media(not just you and I and people on boards)talk Super and beauty shes always right there...you can't forget her like her or not. She's done things that many including these girls have not and probably will never. I mean Naomi covered more ground as far as being known than most including these girls. Now you think Kate is above girls,thats all our personal tastes...some fans would think that way of Naomi,Anna,Adriana,Cindy,Janice or whoever. But as far as the media & experts I've never seen them or many ranked over Naomi(usually that person is Cindy,not better IMO but if you look at the grand picture of things...its gets funny),our personal tastes aside. I'm just lucky that I was there to witness Naomi in the early stages and be around to see the real Super era,little later on Kate(who I do like don't get me wrong) and on up today...I've haven't see anything like the phenomenon or Naomi! I'm glad I feel in love with someone who is out of this world,unforgettable,lasting,relentless...I'm just lucky,LoL. I never had to worry about her getting her due she already has & will. Her 20 straight solid years of modeling haven't been duplicated.

Does it ever end,LoL...uhmm Anna I think this is more strange than Kate. I mean Kate is quite something in her own right so it was a more balanced 'battle' although it was still strange in comparison.

Naomi Campbell is a lock no matter what,I've said why she is Super in the last battle,so like her or not,she is a legend.
