She was excluded from the Angel phto-op that year but included in the credits and the commercial, IIRC. So I guess it was a kind of one last hurrah deal, where her contract expired between the commercial shoot and the VSFS and she didn't renew but still walked (see Tyra, Gisele, Karolina Erin, Alessandra, Adriana...).

So, I'm a little late on this but, while Miranda got Orlanda because of VS and not the other way around, I do think that she got as famous as she is because of him and not because of her fashion endeavors. I really doubt Grace could get there.

That speech struck me as dumb because each year there are new girls do each year it becomes less exclusive.

They only said stuff about Karlie and Doutzen because the fans kept asking, same for Marisa. Heidi did her own announcement. Kate, Jac, Lindsay, Erin, Chanel, Rosie, Miranda, Karolina, Selita, Izabel… didn't get a statement either. Basically only Adriana and Tyra (and Alessandra sort of) got a send off so it really wouldn't shock me if Lily was gone and VS said nothing.

There have been events with non-models for VS. Usually those are for PINK but there have been some for the main brand, like when Taylor Momsen launched Love Rocks (she was supposed to do it with Marisa but she quit VS just before the event).

There hasn't been any. She was dropped quitely right before/after her maternity leave.

TBH, I do think that V Ed has the models' best interest in mind. I just think that VS has a specific brand that not every model fits. And that's ok.

I won't read 200 pages but I sure am glad to see Adriana out of the line-up from now on.

Her contract expired around the same time as when Karlie & Doutzen left. Since then she has launched a somewhat souccessful make-up line which has been sold at Sephora.
