Australian Women’s Weekly released a bumper load of fashion and beauty goodness for larger sized women in their January 2010 issue, featuring 15 pages of editorial images. This certainly ups the ante for the other magazines in the Australian market, whose attempts are still on a learning curve. This is good honest, accessible fashion yet it still looks aspirational. We’re really excited about a new fashion brand we’ve launched for Big W. It’s called Avella and it’s a plus-size fashion range with a difference. Instead of simply resizing an existing brand, Avella is designed specifically for women with curves, so it fits beautifully. For the launch campaign we were thrilled to shoot Robyn Lawley, a Sydney girl who has taken the international modelling industry by storm as a plus-size model. She’s graced the covers of the most coveted international fashion magazines like French Elle and Italian Vogue. As you can imagine, we’re happy to have Robyn on board. Not only is she gorgeous, she’s also really down to earth and passionate about fashion for curvy women. She’s a perfect match for Avella.

I am actually really excited and was really lucky to be invited as a guest of Anna Scholz. Along with Anna, other designers on show will include Jill Alexander and Miss Lacey. Lizzie Miller will be on the catwalk, as will Robyn Lawley, Toccarra and Kelly Knox. Velvet d’Amour will be there, as will print media and TV Cameras. There are a few other bloggers going and there should be really amazing coverage come out of this event. This event, like all the other news listed above, is something for us to be excited about. I love sharing this stuff with you!

the Bad – Kate Moss goes from angelic in white to devious in black for the March cover of W Magazine. Wearing lacy looks, Kate poses in front of Steven Klein’s lens.

Swim – Heidi Mount smolders in a beauty shoot photographed by Marcus Ohlsson (WM Artist Management) for the spring-summer issue of Vs. Magazine. With jewel toned eye shadow and wet locks by Fredrik Stambro, Heidi soaks up the sun as she takes a dip in the pool with the stunning images.

Factory Girl – Margaret Howell teams up with South African photographer Koto Bofolo for the label’s spring 2012 campaign starring Marique Schimmel. Dressed in a menswear shirt, Marique is caught in intimate moments with the black and white images styled by Jo Levin. The advertisements were photographed at the company’s North London shirt factory, showcasing the craftsmanship that goes into Howell’s designs.
