Mourinho: I give myself 11 out of 10 Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has talked himself up following an historic year with former club Inter Milan. Reflecting on his achievements during a year in which he won the treble with Inter, Mourinho told Real's official site:"This has been the best year in my career. "I would give myself an 11 out of 10. I won every championship I played in last season and we currently have lost none of our chances to win titles at Real Madrid. The league is very open still. "We've qualified for the last 16 both in the Copa del Rey and the Champions League. We also were the best side in the Champions League group stage. This season has been perfect for us so far." Choosing to ignore the 5-0 drubbing over Barcelona in November, Mourinho then chose to talk about Real's upcoming La Liga match with Sevilla. "The match against Sevilla is worth three points regardless of absences on either team. Both sides want to win for different reasons," he said. "Our fans must always make a difference and they are always there for us at home. The two games we have yet to play before the new year are important. "If I may, I'd like to ask the fans to come to the stadium. We will give our all in both games and they will help us win with their support. "Gregorio Manzano is the coach of Sevilla, a team with quality players. I have great respect for him and his side. I will greet him before the match, just like I greet every other coach at my stadium." The wily Portuguese then blasted reports of a rift between Iker Casillas and Cristiano Ronaldo. "Rumours concerning Cristiano and Casillas' relationship are made up in order to sell newspapers when there is no real interesting news," he fumed. "Some news that is made up, such as false signings, are much less detrimental to the image of players. That's all it is. "There are no problems in my squad. We don't want to play this game, but I do have to say we have no internal strife whatsoever." Finally, Mourinho expressed hope that Kaka would be back in action soon. "Kaka was very excited and moved for training with the team again today. We want him to continue to work with his team-mates until Wednesday. "We want him to train with the squad more often after the holidays in order to be able to play, or at least be benched, by mid-January." The Brazilian has been sidelined with injury for a few months and has only recently returned to training.

Mourinho: I'd appreciate more support Jose Mourinho wants Real Madrid to do more to defend his team regarding refereeing performances. He commented after seeing nine players booked and Ricardo Carvalho questionably sent off in Sunday night's fiery clash with Sevilla. Mourinho also lauded his players for claiming the three points despite playing with a man less for almost half-an-hour, but it was once again the subject of the officiating that dominated the Portuguese's post-match press conference. Mourinho vented his ire towards the match officials following last weekend's game at Real Zaragoza, complaining his side were not being treated in the same way as others after Xabi Alonso and Marcelo picked up bookings which ruled them out of the Sevilla game. And following Sunday night's 1-0 win at the Bernabeu, Mourinho held up a piece of paper which he said listed the mistakes that referee Carlos Clos Gomez had made in the match. "There were 13 serious errors from the referee. If I talk about them, I won't be at the next game," said Mourinho, who has served two separate touchline bans recently for different offences. "In the last press conference you asked me if I was tired. I don't feel under pressure when I'm doing what I like, and I like to coach. "I'm tired of this. My team deserves to be defended. If I say what I think, tomorrow I'm on the front pages and suspended. "There is a club, with a structure, and I want them to defend my team, not only me. "I want to talk with the president (Florentino Perez). I have a good personal relationship with the club, even though we think different things. "Today I prefer to say that I have a fantastic team." The match itself was a largely forgettable one, with Clos Gomez taking centre stage after dishing out 12 yellow cards in all as well as dismissing Carvalho and Sevilla's Mouhamadou Dabo, who was shown a straight red card in injury-time. Madrid had looked in danger of conceding more ground to leaders Barcelona after struggling to break down the Sevilla defence and then losing Carvalho to a second yellow card in the 63rd minute following a clash of heads with visiting striker Alvaro Negredo. However, that dismissal seemed to galvanise the home side into action and they would end up taking the spoils thanks to Angel Di Maria's 77th minute strike. That goal saw Madrid close the gap on Barca back to two points, and increased the capital club's winning streak at the Bernabeu to 15 games. Mourinho hailed his players but also admitted the match was far from pretty, saying: "My team's character is out of this world. With important players missing, they've achieved what seemed impossible. "Tonight's victory will be very frustrating for those who wanted us to fall four or five points behind Barcelona. This makes us stronger. Everything was set up for us to drop points, but we didn't." He added: "There wasn't any sort of game. It was too ugly. I wouldn't have paid to see this game. At home I would have put on Eurosport to see a game from the Vietnam league."

Pedro Eliezer Rodríguez Ledesma (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈpeðɾo roˈðɾiɣeθ leˈðezma]; born 28 July 1987), commonly known as Pedro or Pedrito, is a Spanish footballer who plays for FC Barcelona and the Spanish national team. Naturally right-footed, he plays as either a forward or winger, the ambidextrous nature of his game meaning he can play on either side of the pitch. He is excellent at finding the right position and has a powerful shot, most notably from long range.[1] Club career [edit] Early years Born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Tenerife, Canary Islands, Pedro joined FC Barcelona's youth system at the age of 17, having arrived from local side CD San Isidro.[2] [edit] Barcelona Pedro was a key player for Barça's reserve team, as it achieved promotion from Tercera División, making 37 appearances and scoring seven goals.[2] On 12 January 2008, he made his debuts for the first team, playing one minute in a 4–0 home win against Real Murcia, but would only amass seven more in his first two seasons combined. Pedro was a part of the first team's 2008–09 pre-season, and showed early promise, scoring against Hibernian and the New York Red Bulls respectively.[3][4] On August 13, he started – later being substituted by Yaya Touré – in a 4–0 win against Polish side Wisła Kraków, for the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round.[5] His first match on the group stage of that competition was on 16 September, when he replaced Thierry Henry in a 3–1 home win over Sporting Clube de Portugal.[6] In Barcelona's treble-winning season in 2008–09, Pedro eventually totalled 14 matches, also appearing in La Liga against Getafe CF (1–1 home draw),[7] Valencia CF (4–0 home triumph),[8] Real Valladolid (1–0 away win),[9] CA Osasuna (0–1 home loss, with Barcelona already crowned champions),[10] totalling 365 minutes. In the season's Copa del Rey, he played against Benidorm CF[11] and Atlético Madrid, on both occasions for Lionel Messi.[12] In the Champions League final, he played the last minute, in the place of Andrés Iniesta. Pedro (left) and Xavi, during the 2009 FIFA Club World Cup. In 2009–10, manager Josep Guardiola confirmed that Pedro would be definitely promoted to Barcelona's first team, and he responded with a breakthrough season, during which he became the first player to score in six different club competitions during a single season.[13] On August 16, after assisting Xavi with the first goal, Pedro scored his first competitive goal for the first team in the 67th minute, helping to ensure a 2–1 victory over Athletic Bilbao in San Mamés, for the season's domestic Supercup.[14] Later that week, he signed his professional contract, running until June 2014, with a buyout clause set at £60 million.[2] In the 2009 UEFA Super Cup against FC Shakhtar Donetsk, he came on as a substitute for Zlatan Ibrahimović in the 80th minute, and went on to score the 1–0 winner in extra time.[15] On September 28, Pedro scored his first goal in the Champions League after replacing Iniesta at halftime in a 2–0 win against FC Dynamo Kyiv.[16] He continued his hot streak and scored his first league goal, against UD Almería, with a brilliant strike that sealed the 1–0 home triumph.[17] A month later, on October 28, he scored a brace in the first leg of the Spanish Cup Round-of-32 match at Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa, for a 2–0 win[18] (he also scored in the second leg, a 5–0 home rout).[19] More and more established in Barcelona's starting lineups, Pedro went on to score another brace in the league, in a 4–2 win against RCD Mallorca.[20] He would continue his scoring touch in the Champions League, scoring one of two against F.C. Internazionale Milano.[21] On December 16, Pedro scored a goal in the semi-final of the FIFA Club World Cup against Atlante FC, in 3–1 win. In doing so, he became the only player to score in six different club competitions in one season – the three domestic tournaments, the UEFA Champions League and Super Cup and the Club World Cup.[22] He was later named World Player of the Week by Goal.com after his performances against RCD Espanyol, Atlante and Estudiantes de La Plata of Argentina, respectively.[23] In an emotional return to his hometown of CD Tenerife, on 10 January 2010, Pedro came on as a 76th-minute substitute, later helping to Ezequiel Luna's own goal in a 5–0 win; out of respect, he chose not to celebrate.[24] On April 10, he scored the second goal in a 2–0 win against Real Madrid, in his first appearance in El Clásico.[25] On April 14, in a league match against Deportivo de La Coruña, opposing goalkeeper Daniel Aranzubia attempted to clear the ball from the top of the 16-yard box, and instead kicked the ball right to Pedro, who shot at goal from 40 yards with his left foot and scored, giving Barça a 2–0 lead – eventually 3–0.[26] He also found the net in a 3–1 defeat in the first leg of Champions League semi-finals, against Inter at the San Siro.[27] In the last three league matches, Pedro scored for Barcelona, with the Catalans eventually renewing their league supremacy: against Tenerife again (4–1 win),[28] the 3–2 winner at Sevilla FC[29] and against Valladolid (4–0).[30] He completed the 2009–10 season with 53 appearances in all competitions (31 starts) and 23 goals. On 9 June 2010, he signed a new five-year deal with Barcelona.[31] Pedro begun the 2010–11 season firmly established in Barcelona's starting XI. On 29 November 2010, he scored the second goal in a 5–0 home win against Real Madrid, with Barça climbing to the first position in the league.[32] [edit] International career On 20 May 2010, Pedro was included by Vicente del Bosque in Spain's 23-man squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.[33] On the 29th, he made his debut in a 3–2 friendly win against Saudi Arabia, and earned his second cap shortly after, as a 58th minute substitute in a 1–0 win against South Korea. On 8 June 2010, in the last friendly prior to the finals in South Africa, with Poland, Pedro scored his first international goal, and also assisted Fernando Torres, in a 6–0 victory. In the final stages, he appeared in five matches (three as a late substitute): on July 7, in the semi-final against Germany, he started in place of Torres, who had been performing poorly in earlier matches. In the 82nd minute, with Spain leading 1–0, he attempted to score a goal himself rather than set up an unmarked Torres, although he performed well in the match.[34] Despite this error, he was selected to start in the final, with the national team winning 1–0 against the Netherlands; at the hour-mark, he was replaced by Jesús Navas. Mou On Kaká: Kaká got emotional upon returning to the field with his teammates. Two weeks ago he told me that he was tired of working inside in the gym. He wanted to hear the sound of the ball, feel the rain, the cold… he was tired of being inside. After that he began to work outside, with the cold, the sun… listening to the sounds his teammates made. Then he told me he needed to be with the group. Today’s session was of low intensity, with zero risk for injury, so we invited him. He’s beginning to feel like a player again. He felt like one more in the group and everyone shared in his joy. If he trains like this for the next few days, he’ll be training normally with the group after the vacation. We hope that he begins to be Kaká, whether it’s on the bench or on the field, by the middle of January. In Madrid, he hasn’t been able to be Kaká due to all the problems he’s had.

Mou On Arbeloa: the reasons why Sergio could become a substitute are not due to anything negative about him, but rather the positive aspects of another player. It’s unjust for a player like Arbeloa to be considered a substitute. Sergio was sanctioned and Arbeloa played, and played well. Sergio was injured and Arbeloa played, and played well once more. Marcelo is sanctioned and Arbeloa’s going to play… When Arbeloa plays, he does well. He’s playing very, very well. I’m not criticizing Sergio. But starters aren’t always going to be starters. The decision is made on the field. And Arbeloa is an example for everyone. Everyone should have the hope of playing including when their teammates aren’t having problems. Tomorrow we don’t have Marcelo and since this team only has three fullbacks, Arbeloa should play on the left.

Mou On Sergio’s return to the starting line-up: Sergio has done well, with the medical staff and the recuperators. They knew that we were in a complicated situation with all the absences and that it was important to recover some of those who were injured. He’s available. He wants to play and he’s going to play. I’m happy with him because he did everything possible to be here. unamdridista

  19. Schalke 3-0 Cologne Raul collected his second Bundesliga hat-trick of the season as Schalke eased 3-0 past Cologne. The Spanish star, who also scored three goals against Werder Bremen, struck in the 30th, 50th and 87th minutes to run his season tally to nine goals in the Bundesliga along with two in the Champions League. Schalke have five victories and just one loss in their last seven games to jump to 22 points and 10th place in the league. Cologne, who have not won at Schalke in 10 years, remained on 15 points in 16th place. There were very few early chances with the most dangerous coming in the 22nd minute as Schalke defender Christoph Metzelder let a Christian Clemens cross pass through and Schalke keeper Manuel Neuer was forced to concede a corner. Schalke grabbed the lead on the half hour mark after a mistake by Cologne defender Christopher Schorch, who had plenty of time at the touchline but turned and passed directly to Ivan Rakitic, who crossed to the far right where Raul nodded home. Raul nearly doubled the lead just seconds before the break but Cologne's Geromel cleared just in time. Cologne had a chance two minutes after the break but Clemens' shot went into the side netting. Raul made it 2-0 three minutes after the break as he blasted home a loose ball from eight yards out after a cross was deflected out to him Schalke tried to finish off Cologne but missed two chances in the 57th minute as Petit cleared Klaas Jan Huntelaar's header at the line and then Fabrice Ehret cleared Raul's attempt on the rebound. The hosts had two more opportunities but Rakitic shot wide in the 65th minute and Raul was off-target two minutes later. Raul completed his hat-trick with three minutes remaining, heading home Edu's free kick past Cologne keeper Faryd Mondragon.
  20. Raul heroics bring joy to Schalke Raul ensured Schalke made a winning end to 2010 with his second hat-trick of the season in the 3-0 win over Cologne. The win lifted the Royal Blue to within five points of the top five, which is now a more realistic objective for the season. "We can justifiably aim for European football," said manager Felix Magath. "Fifth position is now our next objective." Magath was full of praise for his match-winner, who he says is not just excelling in front of goal. "He is our most important player," he said. "He keeps running and running - almost too much - but he is in good condition and always there where he is needed." After a slow start to the season, the Spaniard has now scored nine league goals and says he has no regrets whatsoever about making the move from Real Madrid to Schalke. "I am delighted that my move from Madrid to Schalke has gone so smoothly and that I am part of a team which is working so well," he said. "Furthermore, I have a very good coach here who has faith in me. "Today was not only a good day for me but for the whole team. We turned the self-confidence that we have gained from our recent games into a win today and that was immensely important." Schalke still have one more challenge before Christmas, though, as they head to second division leaders Augsburg for a tricky DFB-Pokal tie in midweek.
