SOME INFO: Christie Brinkley - Perhaps the most famous SI girl, Christie was the first swimsuit issue model to have three consecutive covers ( 1979-81), before this feat was also achieved by Elle Macpherson and Kathy Ireland in later years. Christie's all-American girl appearance and curvy body has made her one of the most popular and best remembered SI models of all time. There's really not much else to say! She's Christie Brinkley! Kathy Ireland - With her amazing body, girl-next-door persona and piercing crystal blue eyes, Kathy Ireland is held as the " most popular" of the SI swimsuit models. Kathy's first cover in 1989 remains the best selling Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue in the magazines history. Not only this, but the magazine's founder, Julie Campbell, often claimed that Kathy received the most fan mail out of any of the models and that, when Kathy was only briefly featured in the issue one year, the SI offices were flooded with complaints. Kathy graced the cover of SI for a fourth and final time in 1994, where she was able to hold her own against fellow cover models Elle " the body" Macpherson and Rachel Hunter despite being pregnant. Not bad. Elle Macpherson - Elle Macpherson tops so many ' Greatest SI swimsuit model' lists it's almost dangerous to include her. The leggy Miss Macpherson is famed for her perfect physique, not to mention the fact that she has graced the cover of the SI swimsuit issue a total of five times, including three consecutive covers in 1986-88' and a more recent appearance in 2006 at the age of 42. As of 2009, Elle still possess more SI swimsuit covers than any other model, and it seems doubtful that this record will ever be topped. Cheryl Tiegs - In the eyes of many, Tiegs is the original. An iconic poster from the 1970's of Cheryl in a pink bikini remains the highest grossing model poster of all time, and in 1978, her body in a legendary white cotton fishnet swimsuit created perhaps the most famous image to ever come out of the SI swimsuit issue. Cheryl first graced the cover of SI in 1970, with two following covers in 75' and 83'. Now 61, Cheryl continues modeling and has even jumped back into her swimsuit once or twice! Paulina Porizkova - Paulina and SI just go together. In her day, Paulina was a SI staple, despite the fact that was an odd choice for a swimsuit magazine. Although incredibly beautiful, Paulina did not have the curves that many of her fellow SI models possessed. What made the difference was that Paulina could pose like no other, and so regardless of her slim frame she could give the illusion of a full figure, and she soon became well known and loved for her work in SI, landing her first SI swimsuit cover in 1984 ( can anyone forget that cover?), and again the following year. The most amazing and beautiful thing about Bridget, for me, is her coloring. Her almond skin tone, her oak brown eyes, her muted golden brown hair. That mixed with her strong Native American features just makes an astounding beauty. There's not going to be another Bridget.

Looking at those event photos, I'm really sorry to be mean, but I can't stand Esti Ginzburg! As an SI girl or even as a model. She looks like such an average 16 year old girl it's really disturbing! I honestly don't think she's especially beautiful ( that doesn't mean I think she's ugly, just not model material.) Also have to say I just realized I totally overlooked Daniella Sarahyba's pictures, and her shoot is WITHOUT A DOUBT my favorite in this issue. She has three shots that IMO make her the best model in the issue. These three ( sorry to repost): These are the best pictures, IMO. They would be even better if in the first one you could see her bikini, but nevermind! Can't have it all I guess, I'm very proud of Daniella though! Glad these girls are 50/50 because they're both amazing. I voted for Claudia because I've been a fan for long, but I honestly couldn't say who was more gorgeous in their prime! Both beautiful.

Definitely Claudia!! Saw Kate in real life and can only say she is obviously amazingly photogenic, because in real life the beauty is hard to find ( IMO).

^ No problem at all. Eva looks so different today to how she looked in the 90s. This makes me want to ask... How many fans here are fans of Eva in all forms, who are fans of her how she looks today, and who are fans of her 90s look? I ask because really I DON'T find Eva attractive in her 00's work. For me, 90's Eva is the only way to go. I'm only really a fan of 90's Eva, but I am such a fan!

I really enjoy the duality of Eva's looks. To me, she somehow simultaneously has a face that is immensly regal and fine and also very Anna Nicole meets Gena Lee Nolin plastic fantastic! lol! I really enjoy this aspect of her though. I like it I think because often when a model is too ethereal looking I can't think of her as a real person, and I eventually get bored... Eva is ethereal looking but that slightly cheap, sexy thing about her gives her an extra kick and makes her interesting to me. Also, Eva has forced me to officially boycott Askmen.com as totally ridiculous. They have her like a 78 for sexiness. Eva might not be many things, but sexy she definitely is!

In a modern world of surgery that can artificially create the appearance of breasts like Laetitia Casta's and butts like Cindy Crawfords and waists like Brigitte Bardot's, it simply CANNOT artificially create a body like Elle's! It cannot give anyone those proportions... it cannot give anyone those legs... it cannot give anyone that height... it cannot give them that length of bone and muscle... Elle is a marvel of nature. No one can pay to look like Elle MacPherson. You can't fake beauty that real and that unique.

^ Exactly. This separation between " commercial" and " HF" is really such new concept in its present form. In the super days, they did everything. They were versatile.
