HEIDI KLUM SPILLS HER BEAUTY AND PARENTING TIPS http://www.elizabethstreet.com/style/heidi-klum-parenting-tips Heidi Klum does it all: supermodel, actress, brand ambassador, TV host, designer, producer, Emmy winner, spokesmodel, artist, businesswoman, philanthropist and mom. With brains, beauty and a Midas touch, we could all learn a thing or two from this on-the-go, powerhouse mom. Since we are in the midst of New York, Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks (as well as hectic home schedules),we asked her to share her tips and tricks for staying gorgeous while managing a large band of kids and an ever-thriving, exciting career. Her answers are just what we'd expect from the down-to-Earth woman whose guacamole recipe is on our must-make list. Elizabeth Street: How has your beauty regimen changed since you became a mom? Heidi Klum: My beauty regimen hasn’t changed much since becoming a mom, I might just do it a little faster. My every day skin care habits have always included drinking plenty of water, keeping my makeup light and natural when I’m not working so that my skin can breathe, and always taking off my makeup before going to bed at night. It’s never too early to start being extra careful with your daily skin routine! ES: How do you handle being away from your children when you are working a show or on a shoot? HK: I hate being away from them for too long, but when I am, we set a time to talk on the phone every night so they can tell me about their school day, play dates and sports practices. I don’t work on weekends because it is important to me to have that time with my kids no matter how busy we may all be. We like to jump on the trampoline, take bike rides together and watch movies. I also like to involve the kids in my processes. For example, my son Johan designed an amazing T-shirt to benefit Save the Children for my Truly Scrumptious collection for Babies“R”Us. Leni and Lou love trying on the clothes for the little girls. Leni doesn’t quite fit into the collection so it’s funny to see her try and squeeze. ES: How did you get back in shape and ready for the runway after giving birth? HK: I continued to maintain a healthy diet throughout all of my pregnancies, which I think is important. You can’t bounce back to a size that you weren’t before you were pregnant. I like to tell new moms that to get back in shape they need to find something active that they love to do. This could be going on a run with a friend, pushing your stroller through the park or putting on your cutest workout pants to hit the gym. My sportswear line, Heidi Klum for New Balance, was inspired by wanting to help women get active. I wanted to design clothing for women that would not only look good and perform well but also make them feel good even when they are breaking a sweat and working hard to get back in shape.

Heidi Klum’s Fitness Strategy: Trampolines, Dance Parties, and Lots of Lattes http://news.instyle.com/2014/02/21/heidi-klum-fitness-tips/ Feb 21, 2014 Heidi Klum is no stranger to fusing fitness and fashion. When she’s not busy jet-setting around the globe for her many jobs, or getting glam for the red carpet, you’re bound to catch Klum sneaking in a run while somehow simultaneously looking perfectly polished in her workout gear (jealous!). The mogul mom, who’s latest colorful collection for New Balance just hit stores this month, shares her secrets for keeping that killer bod in enviable shape. (Hint: It involves cheeseburgers, avoiding the treadmill, and incorporating lots of cheery colors in her gym bag). You’re always in amazing shape: What workout are we most likely to find you doing? I think working out around others who will help inspire you is the most effective starting point. My favorite workout is a long run on the Westside Highway which stretches along the Hudson River in New York City. It’s a beautiful path, and you always feel surrounded by such an amazing community. You see the same people running every morning and they help keep me going. That, and knowing there is a Starbucks coffee at the end of the route! What’s your favorite color to wear when you work out? Right now I’m loving floral prints. I think it’s important to feel feminine when you’re working up a sweat which is why I included so many fun and flirty floral patterns in my spring collection. I find that having stylish and flattering workout wear is a way to keep you moving. Sometimes, just putting on my workout clothes is enough to get me going and in the zone. When you look good, you feel good! What do you do on days you just don’t have the motivation for a workout? I tend to work out more through activities than at the gym. I even have a great treadmill at home that sits mostly unused. My biggest piece of advice when you’re lacking a little motivation is to make plans with a friend. That always motivates me to get out of bed in the morning. You don’t want to leave a friend hanging. Who’s one person that inspires you when it comes to working out? My kids are my biggest inspiration and motivation when it comes to working out. They have so much energy that I need to stay in shape just to keep up with them! Plus, we have so much fun being active together. Sometimes we jump on the trampoline, take a walk with our dogs, or go for a bike ride. We also live in California and have the luxury of popping over to the beach. Running around and playing in sand is a serious leg workout. What is one indulgence you’ll never give up? I try to eat a balanced diet but I’m not a fan of deprivation and I have a serious weakness for cheeseburgers. So, if I want a cheeseburger, I am not only going to eat that cheeseburger, I’m going to enjoy that cheeseburger. I’m also obsessed with Kinder Shokolade – for me it tastes like home. It’s the perfect sweet treat. What’s on your playlist when you’re working out? My three favorite workout songs right now are ”I Need Your Love” by Calvin Harris featuring Ellie Goulding, “Happy” by Pharrell, and “Can’t Hold Us” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. I love listening to upbeat music, it really keeps me going during a long run. My kids also love a good dance party so sometimes we turn up the volume and dance around together. Is there anything this mom of four can't do? http://www.workingmother.com/celebrity-moms/modelmogul-mom-heidi-klum She’s Got Talent! So proves her transition from supermodel to supermogul—and the Emmy she won for Project Runway. But with four kids, a line of children’s clothes and tons of charity work, Heidi’s not resting on her laurels. You’ve transformed yourself from a Sports Illustrated model to a successful entrepreneur. How do you view your career? There was no secret to my success other than I took every job really seriously. I can look back over the past 20 years and feel really proud that I worked hard to get where I am now. And you won an Emmy for Project Runway. It was such a great surprise, and I was so glad to share this award with my incredible co-host, Tim Gunn! We have been on the air for 12 seasons. I am so appreciative that people are watching and still love the show so much. You seem to have a passion for design! What inspired your Truly Scrumptious line for Babies“R”Us? I’ve always wanted to be a fashion designer. As a teenager, that was my original plan. But I won a modeling competition—and the rest is history. With four kids of my own, I am more than familiar with children’s clothing and what kids like to wear. I think about what they would gravitate to with regards to color, comfort, details and prints. We currently make clothing up to size 5, so my older kids [Leni, 9, Henry, 8, and Johan, 7] are too big to wear them. But my younger daughter, Lou, who’s 4, loves wearing them. She loves sparkle and glitter— the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree! A lot of moms have strong opinions about how their kids should be dressed. What’s yours? Basically, I think a kid should look like a kid. The clothing should represent the spirit of childhood: bright, colorful, whimsical and magical. You’re involved in charities that are relevant to moms and kids. Tell us a little about them. I work quite a bit with UNICEF. I had the opportunity to travel to Haiti last year and see some of the incredible work they’re doing in an area so desperately in need. Also, we’ve sold four Truly Scrumptious T-shirt designs to raise money for Save the Children, another organization I’m proud to be aligned with. How do you keep things sane and down-to-earth for your four kids? We are just like any other family: school, soccer practice, feed the dogs, eat your vegetables, clean up your toys. We try to do fun things on weekends—seeing animated movies and barbecuing in our garden. And all my kids enjoy watching me on America’s Got Talent. People may think Howard, Mel, Howie and I are tough, but my kids may be the toughest judges of all! HEIDI’S CAREER SUCCESS TIPS Take it seriously—from the get-go. I started making a living when I was 18. Even in my earliest modeling jobs, I always showed up on time and did what was expected of me. Think outside the box. I saw each of my jobs as an opportunity to learn about another facet of the industry. Just go for it. Throughout my 20 years of work, I met interesting people, trusted my instincts and tried to take an opportunity if it was presented to me. You have to bring your hustle and watch your back. But it’s also important to find time for your personal life.

http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20781088,00.html Heidi Klum isn't letting her recent split from bodyguard boyfriend Martin Kirsten keep her down. The supermodel, 40, stepped out Tuesday night for a good cause, the Hollywood Stands Up to Cancer event presented by the Entertainment Industry Foundation, hosted by event chairs Jim Toth and wife Reese Witherspoon. Other high-wattage stars attending included Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman, and Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman. Enjoying performances by John Mayer – there with girlfriend Katy Perry – Christina Aguilera and Jamie Foxx. Looking stunning in a slim-fitting brown long-sleeved dress with her hair down, Klum was all smiles and the very first celebrity guest to arrive. Stand Up to Cancer is a cause she has long supported. "They asked me to do the photos for their campaign and we always did them quite cheeky – I wasn't wearing much," Klum exclusively told PEOPLE at the event. "But I just think it's important to give your time to important organizations like this." Asked if having kids changed her outlook on helping others, the mother of four said, "To be honest I always wanted to help, whether it was supporting cancer research or supporting AIDS research with Elton John, I did that before having children. When you're in the paper and people listen to what you have to say, that [helping others] is part of what you have to do as a human being." During the event, Klum stuck close to a girlfriend and happily obliged when attendees asked for her to pose for personal photographs. As part of the presentation, Stand Up to Cancer announced the Jim Toth Sr. Breakthrough Lung Cancer Research Award in honor of Toth's father, who succumbed to lung cancer. A new collaboration between SU2C and the American Cancer Society was also announced, with the first significant research project to focus on lung cancer.

Exclusive! Heidi Klum Reveals Her Odd Hidden Talent http://www.yourtango.com/2014206021/another-reason-love-america-got-talent-heidi-klum We imagine it's been a hard week for Heidi Klum, whether the rumored split with longtime boyfriend Martin Kirsten is true or just tabloid fodder. Although the leggy legend kept mum about that gossip, she did reveal her strange and surprising talent that — we admit — we never saw coming. "I can walk on raw eggs," the mother of four matter-of-factly tells YourTango. "I do that on Germany's Next Top Model. I have my girls do that so they learn to walk on the front of their foot. We tape raw eggs on the back of their foot, and they have to walk like that … so you lift up your butt, that's how you walk. It's basically like a high heel, but instead of a high heel, it's a raw egg." It's clear global audiences love seeing Klum play host (Project Runway) and judge (America's Got Talent), but they may not realize her own reality TV roots go way back, all the way back to 1992 when she was just a contestant trying to make it big. "I did win a competition in Germany — you know, that's how I started; it was a modeling competition, so I kind of went through it a little bit. It was a long time ago, so it wasn't as big, but it was on TV, and it went on for six months actually, where they had three girls every week, and how America can choose America's Got Talent, Germany voted for me, and that's how I became a model." Excellent choice, Germany. While it's doubtful we'll see Klum take the America's Got Talent stage to prove her egg walking skills when the show returns next summer, let's cross our fingers that producers can talk her into showcasing another natural ability. "I would cook sauerkraut soup while yodeling," Klum replies when asked how she'd impress co-judges Melanie Brown, Howard Stern and Howie Mandel if she was to enter the competition. "I wouldn't make it to the next round."
