Heidi interviewed by People Magazine's Celebrity Baby Blog: http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20343765,00.htm http://celebrity-babies.com/2010/02/17/hei...abies-and-more/ PEOPLE’s Celebrity Baby Blog caught up with the busy mom-of-four at the Destination Maternity event and she opened up about what inspired her designs, Lou’s little smiles and how every day is Valentine’s Day with hubby, Seal. Heidi Klum isn't worried about spending Valentine's Day apart from husband Seal this year. "For me it's not really that big of a deal," Klum told PEOPLE at the Destination Maternity event in New York City, where she presented her new maternity collections Lavish by Heidi Klum for A Pea in the Pod and Loved by Heidi Klum for Motherhood Maternity, "because we're in love all the time." In town for New York Fashion Week, where the supermodel also hosted the finale show for Project Runway's season 7 on Friday morning, Klum says her husband, who's staying in Los Angeles with their kids, is very attentive all year. "Some people complain about their spouses," she said. "That they forget or neglect [them]. I happen to be very lucky that my husband has not forgotten those things nor needs to be reminded." But, she added: "I do love that there are those kinds of holidays for people to remember to acknowledge the fact that you have a great person in your life with you. So, I think to be reminded is good." What was the inspiration for Loved (available at Motherhood Maternity) and Lavish (available at A Pea in the Pod)? Loved was inspired by the love surrounding you and your baby while you’re pregnant. We came up with Lavish because there’s no grander expression of everything you want to give yourself and the child growing within. It’s all about the extravagance of love. What made you decide to create a maternity line? I experienced some style challenges during my four pregnancies, so I wanted to create maternity fashions that allow women to show off their beautiful shapes. As my bump grew, I would look in the mirror and be in awe of the changes happening to my body. I was creating a nourishing space for this new life. My clothes are all about making you feel great during this process. What did you learn about maternity wear when dressing for your pregnancies? Being pregnant shouldn’t keep you from being fashionable and feeling great. It’s an exciting journey! Plus, you don’t just need maternity clothes when you’re pregnant. You’ll still need them two months after the baby’s born. What is your maternity style? I wore whatever made me feel good. I wore a lot of leggings and tunics, and pieces made out of soft, yummy fabrics — all of which are in the collections. I had fun creating new looks for each of my pregnancies. How does Loved and Lavish differ from what you wore during your pregnancy? They don’t differ very much from what I wore! I really tried to create comfortable, stylish options that I love. Your littlest one Lou, what are her latest milestones? She can lift her head up.
 And she
smiles all the time. She’s also started teething so she likes to chew on her chewing ring a lot. What do your older kids think of her? Have they been helping
out? They all love her. Leni has changed a few diapers, but she
plugs her nose and goes, “Oooo!” Did your kids have any input in the maternity lines? No, not really. Even though my daughter [Leni] was there when I
designed the floral pattern for some of the fabrics. She was like, “Wow, so many of them.” I’ve been thinking that maybe one day
I’ll have her create a pattern for me too.

Interview with Moms and the City: http://www.momsandthecity.net/?p=876 Heidi Klum is a supermodel, actress, television host, business woman, and fashion designer. She is a mom of 4 and just last week launched two maternity collections: Lavish by Heidi Klum™ for A Pea in the Pod and Loved by Heidi Klum™ for Motherhood Maternity. TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR INSPIRATION AS A MOM OF 4 TO BE ABLE TO PUT THIS LINE TOGETHER. Well – I’ve been pregnant 4 times and every time it’s been a challenge for me to get dressed. I do a show about fashion and if I want the designers to wow me, I have to wow them too. I always say I want something fabulous, then I can’t stand there in something boring, or slouchy while pregnant. Sometimes you feel like you want something slouchy but when you’re on the runway, you can’t. You have to look cool but still be comfortable. I HAVE MOMMY RAGE (gave examples)….I GET ANXIETY – DO YOU EVER FEEL THAT WAY WITH 4 KIDS? I think as a mom, we’re multitasking all the time. You have to always keep it all glued together as a mom. On top of it you’re working, creating and doing things, and by the way, you look hot for your man, so it’s a lot – so yes, I think it’s perfectly normal when the fuse kind of goes but you just have to take a deep breath and think about how fabulous you are and all of the things that you do on a day to day basis, you know, because everyone has that. That’s just normal. WHY DO YOU DO ABOUT IT WHEN IT HAPPENS TO YOU? I think you just have to give yourself a break and say I’m really fabulous. Look at all the things we do. Sometimes it’s perfectly fine when you get a little angry. So take a deep breath and pat yourself on the shoulder and it will pass.

Interview with PopEater: http://www.popeater.com/2010/02/12/heidi-k...clothes-babies/ It would be very easy to despise Heidi Klum. She's flawlessly beautiful and looks at least a decade younger than she really is (36, seriously). She's the brains behind 'Project Runway.' She has a happy marriage with Seal and just gave birth to her fourth child in October (she now says her family is "complete"). And she can now add fashion designer to her resume with the launch of Lavish and Loved maternity lines. But once you meet the Teutonic model, you can't do anything but adore her (and be in awe of her ease to totter around in five inch killer heels)! Do you see yourself modeling these clothes with another bump of your own? I think I could be modeling them without the bump. Probably not with a bump because as a family we're complete, but I think a lot of the pieces you can wear even if you're not pregnant. You are so skinny. Did you run home from the hospital after you gave birth? No, but I could walk. I definitely did not want to sit in the wheelchair. I had to have a fight with them. It's not normal how quickly you regained your shape back. I'm a very, very active person. If Seal sneezes in your direction do you fall pregnant? Yeah, I have to watch when he sneezes. He has that effect on me or me on him. I don't know. You sketched these designs yourself. Did you find it hard or easy? Easy. I just go with my gut instinct. I wanted things that were pretty but still hard. I didn't want them to be too fruity or cutesy. What was your inspiration? Comfort and style and feeling great in your new shape. I wanted to make things that you can wear after you're pregnant because most people say, 'I can't wait to get rid of these maternity clothes,' but the truth of the matter is you still have to wear them after the baby is born. The collection is stylish with a few pieces that are blingy. I tend to wear a lot of black, but it's nice sometimes to wear something that pops because after a while you get so bored with all black. Do you feed your kids German food? Sometimes. I try to stay healthy with them. Obviously they eat carbs and they also have schnitzel and dumplings with sausage in them. Your photo spread in DT magazine was pretty racy. Oh I knew it was. I shot with Rankin and he's like a naughty English boy and he always gets me to do a lot of naughty things, but I've shot a lot of photos in my career. It's no different from shoots that I've done before. In terms of being naked, I'm not very prudish.

Interview with iVillage: http://www.ivillage.com/heidi-klum-red-dre...view/1-a-111044 After four kids and four years of marriage, Heidi Klum and her hubby, Seal -- whom she describes as "a real romantic" -- still seem to be in the honeymoon stage. And they definitely aren't afraid of a little red-carpet PDA! But with her involvement in the Diet Coke Heart Truth campaign -- an effort to promote heart health awareness -- the supermodel, 36, proves that what she cares about extends beyond just her family. iVillage spoke to the Project Runway host about her Valentine's Day plans, her love of french fries ("in moderation") and how she and Seal revisit their wedding day. So why did you want to get involved in the Diet Coke Heart Truth campaign? Because I think that it’s an amazing message, and I think they are making that very important message fun. They do the Red Dress Fashion Show every year, and it’s my third time. And I just think it’s a really good cause. How do you think the Red Dress fashion show, which takes place tonight in New York City, helps raise awareness of heart disease? Well, I think that it’s such a fun fashion show because you have all these amazing women from all different fields in the entertainment industry doing a fashion show which is, you know, not something that they normally do. I remember a few years ago Liza Minnelli did it. And this year one of the Kardashian ladies [Kim] is doing it. Someone from “The View” is doing it. They have all these different, beautiful women in different designer red dresses. And red is such a beautiful, strong color, and it’s just eye candy. And it’s fun at the same time. So they definitely raise a lot of awareness for heart disease. The Heart Truth campaign is all about promoting a healthy lifestyle, but you can't be good all the time. Do you have any unhealthy habits? I would say that I’m healthy, but I think sometimes you can have certain things that are not healthy -- maybe chocolate, or I love French fries, for example. But since I live very healthy and do things in moderation, I think it’s fine. Good for the brain, you know? Sometimes you have to eat something that’s not so good. If you say no to everything, then that’s boring. Do you think you have an obligation as a celebrity to give back and get involved in these campaigns? No, I don’t think that it's like an obligation because you are known or anything like that. But if I was Heidi Klum still living in Bergisch Gladbach, no one would listen to me, and no one would care. So I think that it’s great that because of what I do I can raise awareness. You know, I would still want to do it if I was still in my hometown. It’s just that no one would care. After shooting a season in L.A., Project Runway returned to New York for its seventh season. Were you happy to make the move? Yeah, we shot it last year in June in New York, and probably the next season will be back in L.A. again. Do you prefer one city to the other? No, I think things get old if you always do the same thing in the same place. You know, fashion changes, and I think things have to change. Because if everything is always the same it’s boring for our viewers. We're always thinking about different challenges and different guest judges and really making it different every year. So it doesn’t hurt to move cities sometimes, too. I think that’s good. Obviously you're all about fashion. Is there one go-to outfit you feel sexiest in? I definitely think a tight black dress with super-high heels is always a good staple to have. For sure, that always works. You can re-accessorize it, and therefore it always looks new and different again. With a belt pinched at the waist or with different shoes or a different bag or a different little jacket over it. You can create many different looks. Valentine's Day is coming up this weekend. Do you and Seal have any special plans? No, I wish we had some plans, but we’re going to be across the country. I’m going to be on the East Coast, and my husband is going to be on the West Coast, so unfortunately this year we won’t be together for Valentine’s Day. Do you usually get into the holiday or do you think it's overrated? No, I definitely like it! I think it’s fun that there are all these holidays. And you should make use of them because a lot of men, especially -- I’m not talking about my husband because he’s a real romantic -- but a lot of men tend to skip a lot of the romance. And I feel like if there weren’t days like Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day, a lot of people wouldn’t make the time for each other. You get sort of caught up with work sometimes and those days are reminders. What's the most romantic thing Seal has done for you? He’s done many romantic things. The little things…you know, always when I walk through the door, he steps to the side and he let’s me move through the door first. Or he goes around the car, and he opens the door. But the most romantic thing would be our engagement when he built an igloo. He proposed to you in an igloo? Yeah, he had an igloo built on top of a mountain, and then he proposed there. He took me up in a helicopter. That was very romantic, but he’s still very romantic in like day-to-day, normal things. Is it true that you two renew your vows each year? Yes, it's important for us take a moment and just be there for each other and renew the vows. We talk about why we love each other and why we're here, and it kind of bring us back to the moment when we got married in the first place. I think it’s nice. I think it’s nice for the children. I think it’s always something they’ll remember as they get older -- thinking about their crazy parents that every year got married and they love each other. I think it’s a great family thing that we do. We’ve done it five times already, and it’s nice. It’s our time. So the kids are there to watch the ceremony? Yeah, they always participate. It’s fun! You gave birth to daughter Lou in October. Was it a big adjustment going from three children to four? You forget when there’s two or three years between [pregnancies]. You forget how tired you were. And it’s definitely different when you have an infant again because they are very attached to you for the obvious reasons. Is it difficult to balance four kids with such a busy career? It’s manageable, you know. I mean, there’s a lot of things that I can’t do anymore -- don’t want to do when you have four children. You’re home more instead of traveling. When I didn’t have children, I’d just hop on a plane, and I’d go to Europe back and forth a lot of times in a year. Or I’d go to New York back and forth. But now I don’t want to travel that much because I want to be where they are.

Interview with StyleList: http://www.stylelist.com/2010/02/10/heidi-...ruth-red-dress/ Heidi Klum: It's not enough that she is beautiful, funny and smart. She has to be good-hearted too - and we mean that literally. Thursday Klum will walked in the Heart Truth Red Dress show, which raises awareness of heart disease in women, for the third consecutive year. In a telephone interview, Klum said health is important to her and her family. But her attitude is pretty healthy as well. Here's what she had to say about baby weight, family meals and permission to break the rules sometimes: StyleList: This is your third year of supporting The Heart Truth -- why do you feel it's such a vital cause? Heidi Klum: It is such an important issue, because heart disease is the number one killer of women in America, more than all cancers put together. It's just an enormous number. If I can do anything in terms of spreading the word to women to do more about their healthy heart, then that's what I want to do. SL: Have you been personally affected by this issue with a family member developing heart disease? HK: No, no one in my family -- but I don't want that to happen either. I'm a woman, and I have two daughters. As a woman, it's my issue too. You can't think, "No one in my family was affected so therefore I'm not affected." It doesn't work that way. Women have to know that it can happen to anybody--you have to watch out. SL: Do you like to wear red a lot? HK: I think red is a beautiful color -- I think it's powerful and strong. I think it's sexy. Red is a color of love and it is a very bold statement color. You're definitely not a gray quiet mouse--when you wear red, you definitely get noticed. SL: You look so amazing having had a baby so recently [Klum's fourth child, daughter Lou, was born in October.] Do you have a magic way to lose to the baby weight? HK: Thank you for the compliment, but there is not magical method to the madness. I'm not at my fighting weight, and maybe I'm never going to go back to my fighting weight. People say, "You have a few pounds here and a few pounds there" but I'm quite happy the way I am right now. I'm very healthy and my little daughter is only 3 ½ months old --I'm still breast-feeding and enjoying being a mom. So I'm not too concerned about losing all the weight and being 100% like I was before - -it's just the way it is. SL: Running around all the time juggling your work and family commitments must help keep off the pounds. HK: I do run around all the time, but my lifestyle is very healthy. I eat very healthy and we cook at home. We don't eat out a lot, we don't go out for fast food a lot -- and it's the same with the children. I'm a pain in the butt with my children. I want them to eat right. They hate me for it a lot of times, but I don't want to make my life easy and skip those roles that I feel like I have to have as a mother. SL: It's great to give your kids the lesson that eating healthy is important while they're young. HK: That's what I'm trying to do. We are sitting at 6 o'clock around the table and talking about school and what they've done in the day. I think a lot of people don't do that anymore -- kids maybe sit in front of the television and the mom doesn't cook. Not everyone has the time to -- I understand that a lot of women work late and can't cook a lot at home. You can only do what you can do, but if you can, I would try and make the effort to cook more and live a happy life. SL: Does the occasional fast food meal still sneak its way into your family's healthy lifestyle? HK: Are you kidding? Yeah, we go to McDonald's. They understand that's a special thing--we go the Micky D's and they have chicken nuggets and the big fries and a Coke. They love it--and I love it too! SL: I guess it's OK as an occasional treat. HK: Absolutely!

From US Magazine: http://www.usmagazine.com/healthylifestyle...ines-day-201052 Heidi Klum will be 3,000 miles away from her husband Seal on Valentine's Day. But Klum -- who is taping Project Runway in NYC while her husband watches the kids in Los Angeles -- is sending him a little something. "I'm making a very fun box of heart things. Kind of like an explosion of things: confetti hearts with cute underwear and chocolates," laughed Klum, 36, to UsMagazine.com. "It's a fun surprise box for him." Klum -- who is Diet Coke's Heart Health Ambassador and will hit the catwalk for the Red Dress fashion show on Feb. 11 in NYC -- says daughter Lou Samuel, 4 months, is with her in NYC while her three older children -- Leni, 5, Henry, 4, Johan, 3 -- are in Los Angeles going to school. How's the baby doing? "I wish she had the first big milestone of drinking from a bottle!" Klum jokes of breastfeeding. Klum doesn't credit her post-baby body to breastfeeding, though. "I never looked at breastfeeding in terms of, 'This is something that helps me.' Breastfeeding helps my child. The after effect: yes, you lose your weight in a normal manner. I think people blow it out of proportion," Klum says. "Everything gets made into so much drama about how a woman has her weight like before [she gave birth]," says Klum -- who hit the Victoria's Secret runway five weeks after welcoming Lou. "If you're living your life, not sitting on the couch... a woman will go back to how she looked before she was pregnant."

Interview with Metro News Canada: http://www.metronews.ca/ottawa/entertainme...with-heidi-klum Talking Healthy Hearts with Heidi Klum On Thursday, Heidi Klum will walk the runway at New York’s Red Dress Fashion Show. Like her supporting celebrity cast — including Kim Kardashian, Jordin Sparks and Rose McGowan — Klum isn’t promoting a fashion house. Instead the supermodel and Project Runway host, who is also Diet Coke’s heart awareness ambassador, aims to educate people about heart disease. Klum, who recently gave birth to her fourth child, joins forces with Heart Truth, a heart awareness campaign sponsored by the U.S. government. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women. Have you had your heart tested? Of course. I’m one of those people who go to every single doctor’s appointment. I go to every doctor, including the gynecologist and the dentist, every six months. And I strap my kids into their car seats and bring them to the doctor every six months, too. Can Diet Coke really be good for one’s heart? One of the factors that cause heart disease is excess weight. If you lower your calorie intake, you lower your risk of heart disease. Diet Coke has zero calories. It’s not a radical solution, but every little thing helps. Do you ever get lazy and feed your kids hamburgers instead of your mother’s famous Sauerkraut soup? They love hamburgers! And fries! And chicken nuggets! And they like my Sauerkraut soup, too. They’ll even eat really healthy things. Last night I made chicken and Brussels sprouts for them. With four children, how much to you really exercise every day? I don’t necessarily go to the gym, but thanks to the children I burn a lot of calories. I jump with them on our trampoline, I swim with them and I run after them in our yard. If you work in an office, you probably need a gym, but I’m lucky to have a very active lifestyle. You’ve designed shoes for Birkenstock. Would you say you were successful in changing its image as professors’ shoe of choice? I don’t think they’ve ever been untrendy. I think they’re really cool. I’m wearing a pair of Birkenstocks right now. They have my husband’s lyrics on them. You’re a painter and a singer, too. Do you plan to pursue these activities more seriously? Before I had kids I did a lot of creative things. When I lived in New York I did oil paintings and attended classes every Saturday, but these days I just paint with the kids. If a charity asks me for a painting I’ll make one, but I don’t have time for much else. It’s interesting how the kids show their personalities. They like to paint, but the older ones weren’t at all interested when I signed them up for soccer. They wanted to play the piano instead. If you’d not been discovered in a competition at age 19, what would you be doing now? When I won the competition, I had just been offered a job as a designer in Düsseldorf, so that’s probably what I’d be doing now. It can be fascinating to consider how your life might have turned out, like in the movie Sliding Doors, but I’m too busy to look back. What’s on your personal iPod right now? I have no idea. I got one a few years ago, but it’s in a drawer. Actually, I have no idea where it is. When you have kids you don’t have time to listen to an iPod. When we sit on a plane, it’s not as if I’d say to the kids, ‘Entertain yourselves; I’m putting on my iPod now.’ February also celebrates the heart in a different way. How do you and Seal keep the flame burning? My husband and I have fun together and laugh a lot. It’s not very hard at all when you’ve found the right person; the passion is there or it’s not there.
