  1. Hello, i have been advised that i can change my nickname please and thank you. I would like to change it from jennh to catwalkheelsplease THANK YOU!
  2. A quick thought...I wonder now with all this media attention if KK will go into hiding until she's back in tip top shape or if we'll see her at events as usual. VS was pushing her so much and now we don't see her at random events or fashion parties anymore and it's a bit of a shame.
  3. Karolina all the way (especially those Valentino ads...so fierce)
  4. Welcome JoeKnight! I 100% concur...she is perfectly imperfect. There are a lot of "pretty" models, but being just pretty can be pretty boring if that makes any sense. If you look at the past 'real' supermodels, some were interesting looking e.g. Linda and Claudia. Perhaps they they didn't have the biggest eyes or the tiniest button nose or a danty smile, but they had interesting lines and proportions to their faces which added that extra oomph IMO. (On a similar note, they all looked more like women then the current little girl/boy 'look' that has been popular in the past few years) Thanks for the pics...she has such a funky style and it temporarily made me forget about all the hoopla of the actual runway show!
  5. Well after reading everyone's opinions about this, I thought I'd just chime in. I do understand both ends of the discussion (one being that some are being overcritical of a more womanly figure and the other being that her industry demands a certain shape maintenance to justify her earnings)....and considering these points, I've got to say that I'm on the fence because both points are valid in my opinion. For me, the most important issue is the body confidence that I have read about a few times from other members. I cannot commend her more for accepting herself for who she is and injecting a little bit of 'humanity' into what is sometimes a distressing and fantasy-like industry. (Yes, as 'regulars', we do look in awe at these surreal and stunning specimens, but at the end of the day, this industry should be about creativity and escapism...taking it all too seriously leads to the unfortunate "idolism" of emancipated figures and materialism - and we all read about the physical and emotional toll of 'trying to fit in' in such a transient and random industry). Karolina shows us that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and there can never be one standard. At the beginning of her career she represented society's typical vision of a runway model...the rare few who are born with limbs for miles and not a squishy body part in sight. As she became to grow, she started filling out and now she represents a woman who is comfortable in her skin and who is embracing every curve and toned muscle and maintaining her inner health. We each look at these phases differently and most likely have our preference. KK has said herself that she is not a doll and has emotions and self-doubt at times. Maybe she's going through a rough period in her life and that is how her body deals with stress, maybe it's hormones, maybe it's indulgence..who knows and frankly, who cares why. I just hope that this sort of press doesn't make her think she is anything but beautiful and unique. Oops, that turned out longer than I meant! Conclusion: KK is and will always be fabulous!
  6. Your wish is my command DirrtyXtina87! A few more I found... Sources: kosty555.info, beautyaddict1one1.blogspot.com
  7. Hi! I'm not sure if this was posted already, from the Robin Hood Foundation event on May 27/08 in NYC. She's really had a lot of updos recently! Is that really her in the SATC movie? I don't remember now! Instyle
  8. My verdict: playful, sassy and better than Wonderwoman! (referring to gala's theme ) Only she can make a ponytail look so fabulous at such an event. I thought I'd just compile a quick compilation of her MET Costume Institute Gala dresses throughout the years... (I'm going to have to say last year's was my favorite) I hope these are all the years she has been, if she's been to earlier ones, please correct me!
  9. Hi! I'm wondering if anyone knows if KK will be at the MET Costume Institute Ball next week or if she's bound to the set of G.I Joe? I wonder if she will be able to top her look from last year if she goes. I also wonder if she will do a 180 and go from feminine pretty to something more edgy or dramatic (in terms of dress colour, hairstyle, make-up...lol....I don't think the cut of last year's dress could get any more edgier : ) ) Any thoughts?
  10. Thank you miss! I cannot pick which one is my favorite ..........all of them are stand-out covers for sure though.
  11. Never seen this photo of kk....SO fierce! (I think happycanadian would agree )
  12. Ok after seeing that HQ pic....I may have been converted to how she looked at this event! Skin is glowing perfection!
  13. No problem happycanadian and all...it's nice to see how much she has evolved throughout the years and how she has changed physically and intellectually through her interviews and shoots. The candids comment is quite accurate happycanadian, I suppose it reassures us that that volume-y, shiny, perfect hair she sports at events has a little bit of professional help. That is the new "supermodel" to me....impossibly beautiful but still human. I think Karolina in interviews has reiterated that to us as well...that she doesn't always look perfect, that she has off-days and that she is not a doll. Quite endearing if you ask me... Even with her fine, messy hair in candids she can still outshine us regular folks though : ) I do agree with happycanadian about the bangs...she needs something that will make her stand out even more and remind people that she has a UNIQUE and UNCONVENTIONAL beauty that sets her apart. Perhaps not in the white blonde (she's been through that phase IMO and it plays to society's narrow views of ideal beauty)....does anyone know what her real colour of hair is? From photos of her in her earlier years it looks like it was almost light brown naturally, but was dyed superlight for all her work. (see gettyimages, viewimages for examples). As for the preference for stick straight hair, I don't know...I think i prefer the look she had at this Oscars afterparty...the slight wave, the more natural makeup emphasizing her features, the flirty dress...it's a mix of feminine sexy and at the same time, edgy with the cut of the dress and the shoes and the black-lined eyes. Maybe the straight white blonde just makes her face look too orange in the other pic and the make-up a bit overdone (sorry!). Guys...who are we kidding! We wouldn't second guess anything Karolina decided to do with her look...she has not been wrong to this day! Plus, it shows a lot of versatility on her part...she's not afraid to try new looks that appeal to all our different tastes...
  14. Hopefully this is the first of many! Interview AND photos...enjoy! IMO, she looks naturally gorgeous, but for some reason (maybe the hair or the setting) I feel they could have done more with the photos. BUT, i'm not complaining! Here is the magazine link: ES Magazine April 2008
  15. Are those older VS pics or recent one?
  16. Another candid from Flickr...looks pretty recent
  17. Hi everyone! LOVE Karolina's beaming smile! Found this from Superbowl 2008...her with a fan. I wonder what her whole outfit looked like, even dressing casual, she is so beautiful!
  18. Does anyone think KK will need to dye her hair for her new G.I Joe role? It would be interesting to see her in a different hair color like auburn or reddish since we're all so used to the blonde! Not many current KK event pics these days btw : (
